  • Every pig-owners worst nightmare is to have them vanish from their pen one day.
Pigs are an investment in time, money and energy, and knowing that they are safe and secure is a great comfort, especially if you are going to be away from home for any length of time.
These are some things that we have come up with over the years to contain them and also to find them and bring them home if they do escape. It all begins with the first day that you get them home.

When I was five, I went in to play with the piglets on my Grandpa's farm and didn't get the gate latched on my way out. My grandpa and Uncles spent most of the afternoon chasing eighteen piglets around the neighbor's bean field. There hasn't been a holiday or family gathering since where that didn't come up.

Was wondering if you could put another couple heavy duty T-posts in the middle of those 16 foot fences to help keep them from bending . I can't think of another way to hold them down. How do your pigs escape? Under the fence line or do they push the fence down? Thanks

It would be helpful if you could explain what went wrong with the system to allow them to escape.

Each week you need to look for signs of rooting up under the fence. I didn’t.
