Hey people just trying to help and clear a few things up, Before Starting Remove the default light and camera then while going in render settings: check Screen Space Reflections and uncheck "half res tres" inside it, Check Ambient Occlusion and set Clamp in Bloom to "1" instead of zero.
Edit: Also if the animation isn't the same go to Animation tap, right click on all the keyframes and change the interpolation to "linear".

SOLVED! If you are looking after the "water" kind effect, you just go into the render properties and check the following:
    - Ambient Occlusion
    - Bloom
    - Screen Space Reflections
The thing is that you need just the "Screen Space Reflection" to get the effect, but the other 2 are as well importent to check if you work in Evee.
    Glad to help you :)

ok for those that are confused when adding the SECOND OCEAN MODIFIER, do NOT click displace on the first geometry option, scroll down to the second ocean modifier underneath, i realised how stupid and basic this sounds but i just spent 20mins trying to figure what i was doing wrong lol but im completely new to blender and managed to finish this up without any issues so GG
Nicely made dude, only suggestion i would make is to slow things down a TINY bit just so pausing to figure out exactly what is going on for beginners would be a little easier, making this useful for both advanced and beginners, thanks again man keep it up you just helped convince a noob to consider spending more time with blender, Co-pilot elements 3D was great but a bit basic.

    • @PANTA-Music
      @PANTA-Music 4 года назад +12

But, nobody said this was for starters? Maybe you should, as a starter, try to do more basic stuff. Like, getting to know the shortcuts, how to change/shape objects, some basic theory about 3D modeling. When you understand that, it would be easier to follow this and learn from it. I believe his video's are not ment for those who never touched the software and try to randomly copy what happens on the screen. And then what? How do you export it as a starter? That isn't explained here either. To do that, you really need the basics. Start with that.
I guess after a year, you have progressed some more and understand it now? As for others that agree with you, this might come as valuable advice. This 'tutorial' is beginner level, but not starter level.
And why the intro is different than the end result, is because he personalized it a bit more, probably to prevent people from blatantly ripping it from him and use it for own commerical purpose.

@@zwabbah4841 For us, it's 30 seconds more video. For him, it's 30 seconds more speech + more editing + more focusing to make sure everything is not left out. And multiply that, with every video he makes. That's not just 30 seconds. It's a LOT more work, resulting in repetative content. ( Which is already documented 100 times on RUclips by others. )
Hope you realise, you really have to get to learn basics before copying others. Personally I only use these as inspiration for my own stuff, I learn from it, but I learn more from reading a book or a specific course.

okay so i am a tottal blender noob. now, this is the second tutorial i've watched from you where (atleast i believe) i am doing all the steps you show, and it looks different from yours. I'm in eevee, turned the shader to emission on the sphere and turned its strength up to 30. yours at 1:42 already looks quite nice, where as mine is just yellow and black. you can't see reflection off of the ocean plane, and yes, i am also viewing in render view.
this happened to me on your irridescant tutorial too so there must be something major i am missing. any help from anyone would be greatly appreciated!

@@squashedout Interesting ... so I opened up your blend file and hit num 0 and then f12 to render a still and I do get a different color to the render you attached here ... weird ! Here is my render of your blend file - i.imgur.com/c3gblAb.png -- Your render is red and mine is the same as Duckys which is a nice yellow tint.
I suggest you download the latest blender 2.8 build and try again (my build is from 2 days ago) otherwise you almost certainly have some sort of a bug which is related to your graphics card and whatever blender-eevee version you are using.
So bug report it if you can. What graphics card are you using by the way? I'm going to guess it's an AMD as I have had weird issues with AMD in the past.

@Ducky 3D I almost have the feeling that you have to mention every video that these are beginner/advanced/experienced how-to's, not ment for starters.
There are so many questions in your comment section, from people who never worked with Blender, or don't understand its basics.
"What shortcuts did you use?", "My result is different!", "Oh, I have no reflections!", "I don't understand!"
For it is respectable that these people are eager trying, it will sure prevent a lot of questions when you clearly mention the grade of difficulty.
And for those who never touched Blender before, or just played with it for an hour: Get to learn the basics first. Learn the most important short cuts, learn its terminology, how to shape/edit shapes, how to render results or save projects. When all that is done, and you have the ground basics, then Ducky 3D's videos are a nice tool to get familiarized with other theory. Like modifiers, lighting, materials, etc.
This is not critique or a judgement to you. This is just friendly advice. To help you to get to know this software better and for you to have a lesser steep learning curve. This software isn't easy as a starter. Don't make it yourself harder than it already is. You just cannot skip the basics and think this is easy. Impatience is the worst trait when you want to learn professional software. Also, there is a difference in beginner ( like me ) and a starter. These video's are not for starters. Keep that in mind. Good luck!

Not always the case, for instance I jumped into after effects midway, found something fairly difficult but that interested me enough to want to learn it, then from there on i learned hotkeys basics and everything id need to make that one tutorial easier, then applied what id learned to learning further things, truth is some get bored with basic tutorials easily, it is true that if you have the time and patience you should always atleast look into basics first, otherwise learning things that will keep your interest makes learning it far more fun
Besides this wasn't too difficult, i ran into one issue and figured out what I did wrong after a little retracing, hotkeys do help i'll admit but aren't necessary for this tutorial in all honesty.
It's just like school, you can enjoy art but when asked to draw an apple just to learn shading techniques rather than "draw whatever interests you" it actually hinders your creativity by going back to basics sometimes.

All right for those who have trouble with your loop synchronising, *make* *sure* that you have your settings for both ocean mofidifiers set to the right proportions! (E.g Size, spatial size) I took literally an hour to figure that out, so don't make the same mistake as me =.=
