This tutorial is what inspired me to get serious about Blender. This was the spark needed to realize that I CAN make all those wallpapers on photos I see on the internet. Thank you.
The hardest part of this tutorial was figuring out why by lighting looked so different from his before he showed us how to set up the environment and adjust the Eevee settings. I didn't know that LookDev took on the effects of whatever settings you used for Eevee. He's teaching me things that he didn't even mean to teach!
@@rexk4208 Thanks for the tip. He explained to activate these at another tutorial and I forget it!! just 1/2 hour finding why i cannot make it shine!!!! Thanks again!
Hey ducky, one thing: when you make looping keyframes with rotation, make sure you go to frame 1 and put 0 degrees, and then go to the end of the timeline +1, because if it's looping, frame 1 and 121 are the same, and put the 360 degree keyframe there. if you put it on 120, you'll have 1 frame that's duplicated, and sometimes that can be noticeable.
When you start to setup your camera animation, make sure to set the Interpolation Mode to linear, if it's not already by default. Otherwise, you could get some acceleration and deceleration in your camera movements.
i was totally shocked when i made this and actually wanted to cry because i was really struggling with blender, thank you so much for such an easy and mind blowing tutorial, thank you so much man ❤

You should try a tool to display the keys you are pressing on the screen so its a little easier to remember all the shortcuts you use. I just got into blender and your videos are helping a lot =)
holy shit... loving this!!! I'm honestly scared of blender but you made it seem so effortless (in a way) and yet fun to play around with. Awesome stuff!
Hello, I follow all your tutorials and I think they are great, please do not deactivate the display of keys in the tutorials, I do not speak English well and when I do not understand something of what you say, it is very useful to see the keys you press.
Agreed, this would be very helpful as you use a lot of key shortcuts and don't always reference what they are (especially when changing views like with ~ (Tilde)
For anyone is using an emission in the ''Shading'' tab, (which you are) You may want to enable ''Bloom'' for the emission to work (in Render properties) I think I managed to reset the properties by pressing ''Backspace'' or idk. Because my emission was working fine the other day. But I guess ''Bloom'' needs to be enabled as well. So, keep it enabled for emission. (Or i might be wrong, but, thats what happened to me) (PS, I pressed backspace while I was in Shading tab)

Really awesome tutorial. My first one I’ve followed properly and actually got to look how I wanted it to! I’ve been agonising about ponying up for C4d but I think blender can do it too.
This is by far some of the coolest stuff. I did the exact same thing as in the tutorial, but the speed of it seems to be waaaaaay faster then the tutorial and I dont get the nice metallic texture when I play it. Good tutorial though 🙂 love it
I am Brazilian I use browser translators. Your works are very good, but the way of explaining can improve, for example: double-tap on insert, where is that on the keyboard ?
Man, using a voronoi node to drive the brick texture creates a result I have been dying to figure out for ages now, thank you so much.... That sweet "paneled" look is so sick. Is there a node setup that would allow to use the emission shader in just the mortar/crack areas of the texture? And perhaps change the width of that area as well?
SO I did this tutorial, amazing job btw! and I added some logo animation in the middle basically using the towers as background. But when I render the animation its just a checkered wallpaper. Not sure if its take extremely long, even when using Eevee. But just wondering why it "won't" export. Been trying to find solutions for days.

It's cleaner to go into the graph editor, selecting the camera, select the keyframe at frame 0, pressing "T", then selecting "Linear" under "Interpolation".
Thank you for this and all your straight forward and easy to understand tutorials. One question, is there a way to render this animation so there is no point of light in the render? In other words, the ambient illumination of the point light is there, but not the bright point of light in the center from where the illumination is emanating?
Can someone HELP ? I am getting an issue with the particle settings to create the structured cube shape after he clicks object rotation. Instead I am getting a mess and then after the rotation is not the same as this.
Super cool! I like your sci-fi tutorials. Thanks a lot. I have a question: Is it possible that there are differences in the blender software between Windows and iMac? I'm just trying to copy an object of yours, and I notice that the lighting doesn't work as well as it does with you. Your lighting is set to 10.000. If I want to do that right now it's way too bright. And if I go to 10 watts it's too dark. What am I doing wrong?
Idk if you still care 6 months later but here goes: Your scene might be at a different scale? You might not think this matters much when you're just doing abstract stuff with no context for real world scale but the intensity of the light is super reliant on the scale of the scene because of how the falloff is calculated, so if your scene is much larger or smaller then lights will behave very differently. I can't think of any reason the math used to calculate this would be different depending on the platform. If that's not it then idk how to help u. I'd suggest just playing around till you find a value that looks nice if copying from the video doesn't work
