Johnny Trains Daniel | Cobra Kai: Season 4, Episode 2 | Now Playing Кино
I like that Johnny doesn’t make fun of Daniel or discourage him like, at all. He’s pushing him to be at his best and you can clearly see it. That’s the mark of a good teacher.
Yeah 🦅 made Daniel truly honor.
Also imagine if someday Kyler be training Miguel stuns that he did.
JOHNNY TRAINS DANIEL | COBRA KAI: SEASON 4, EPISODE 2 | NOW PLAYING
Well he did that all the time when teaching kids.
Tnat
I think it’s more of how Danny knows better than to have any insecurities to use to his advantage like the kids
"The eagles response is FIGHT AND FLIGHT"!
Love that line!
Johnny telling daniel QUIET will never not be funny. Glad these 2 FINALLY stopped fighting during s5
Same here bro
This didn't age well.
@@TeeAiDeenot at all
kinda ridiculous that they’re still fighting
@TeeAiDee season 6 really made them regress huh
I love how Daniel’s training is miyagi like and Johnny’s is like Rocky lol
I need a trainer like Johnny
I just realized, the director of the first Rocky movie directed the original Karate Kid trilogy too. Nice one 😎👍🏽
He was teaching him that sometimes aggression is necessary.
Johnny went througg the school of hard knocks. Daniel started in the school of hard knocks and then made it to easy street. Sometimes all you have is aggression and spite to get through life. As someone who has had life kick them in their balls the entirety of my 20's.......i get it.
What I love about the dynamic of the two is the difference in styles coming together. It's exactly like the yin and yang idea. Daniel knowing the passive ways of Miyagi-do but learning the aggressive ways of Eagle Fang while Johnny knows the aggressive ways of Eagle Fang but learning the passive ways of Miyagi-do.
They both became better fighters by embracing the others method of karate 🥋
My two cents: People like to talk smack about Miyagi-do and say it's inferior to Eagle Fang/Cobra Kai... but in the end, Johnny (and Kreese and Silver) have to admit that Miyagi-do WORKS. If Chozen has demonstrated anything, it's that Miyagi-do is - when the defense option has been exhausted - designed to be devastating. The defensive style can defeat an opponent while serving as a fair warning: there is more.
You just described their story together lol
That’s what helped him beat Silver in the season 5 finale. With a little bit of Chozen’s training thrown in.
You have to be a lion and a lamb
"Don't question me Newark!" A hearken back to Daniel's roots in New Jersey.

It was stupid

@@TravellerTinker Yeah, it's a serious show.
Johnny inspired me to daily drive a manual, he had a point
Have to admit, Johnny lawrence style has a very valid point...
Yeah Daniel's doesn't make sense. How can you fight, even just on defense, if you don't do any practicing.
@@jwill5892 That was the positive thing of Chozen. Teaching Daniel more to it than what he knew...although I think that was in season 3 prior to this lol. Sorry memory
@@jwill5892wdym they do practice, you see them practice blocks in season 3-4
They are polar opposites. Miyagi is about waiting for the right moment. It limits damage to the practitioner but is slow. Eagle is about creating a moment. Leaves them open but does the most damage. They’re both flawed which is why those who cross trained are so much more effective
@@jwill5892 Practicing? Do you mean sparring? Daniel does do sparring there was even an entire episode dedicated to Demetri learning to block attacks.
"The human response to danger is fight or flight. The Eagle is fight and flight" Classic!
Daniel yelling YEAH!!!!! at the end of the video was absolutely amazing 2:28-2:31

2:08 "Dig your fangs into those balls" has to be the funniest unintentional double entendre I have ever heard.
Oh it wasn't unintentional...
Johnny's signature "QUIET!" Always gets me 😂
It's so iconic 😂
One of my favorite new things they did with the character
I say that alot
Johnny's happy for Daniel-san when he really starts embracing the training. And you can tell Daniel realizes this isn't the old Cobra Kai training either & he appreciates that. Never expected to see this going into the series. What a treat!
Daniel taught Johnny that not everything has to be all about violence & not picking a fight with everyone can be a good thing.
Johnny taught Daniel that sometimes fighting back & having backbone can be a good thing sometimes.
Daniel naturally being a hothead makes him far more suitable for Eagle Fang than Johnny for Miyagi-do lol
Which is why this is so hilarious
True dat, although I gotta say that's why Daniel benefits more from Miyagi-Do. :D
What's even funnier is that Johnny gets to give Daniel a lecture about the hothead thing! I mean, when the Silver thing got really ugly.
2:01 Best "QUIET!" of Johnny Lawrence
I just realized Johnny has Daniel shovel the coals out so that later Daniel can walk on them.
This was an awesome montage. To be honest, I sympathize with both of their styles and teachings and don't think that one is better than the other. Both Johnny and Daniel are right in their own ways, but imo one is not of more value than the other. A great fighter knows how to defend AND attack.
This should be comfortable for Daniel because before he met Mr Miyagi he was hot headed and aggressive and probably could have ended up in cobra Kai
He did end up in Cobra Kai... but for a very short time.
@@crpsaiyan you are right
@@patricofritz4094and he became aggressive for a short period of time when he punched that guy in the nose but that was silver way of testing him to see what he learned
@@Rambo20244 yeah
Daniel has always been a hothead. He was always more Cobra Kai than he wanted to admit. Should be no surprise that he naturally picks up aggressive tactics despite a lifetime of Miyagi-Do teachings.
Their individual approaches to fighting is neither right or wrong but they can compliment each other. They are so different from each other yet very much alike. If they had a different meeting, they might have been friends from the beginning.
1:31
“Is this a blocking exercise?”
“NO!”
I honestly think both styles have merit, but both together, the potential is crazy.....
Exactly the way I see it a Man that uses both Eagle Fang and Miyagi do philosophy is a dangerous fighter . I mean can you imagine someone using Pernell Whitaker Defense with Mike Tyson Offence . They be a Dangerous Fighter
Johnny is what Andrew Tate aspires to be
The virgin Tate vs. The chad Lawrence
Johnny is a real man, Tate could never
That depends. Does Johnny have a Bugatti?
Honestly, Andrew Tate had definitely changed for the better, I respect the guy, but Johnny is someone most men aspire to be. 😂
Notice how Daniel grasped Eagle Fang better than Johnny grasped Miyagi Do
At least they got the part in Johnny's training where he was about to quit but his respect for Mr Miyagi got him to keep going & he did well until he fell in the water. I always wanted Daniel to remind Johnny of what Miyagi did for him. We know that if Miyagi had lived to see Johnny & Daniel become friends, they would've found a night to pound Coors Banquets & Saki Bombs while yelling "Banzai!" Would've been a riot
Eagle fang has a bit of Cobra Kai in it. And like it or not. Daniel was a Cobra Kai for a little while.
@@SirGetsugaTenshou yeah it’s crazy because every fighter except Samantha, Miyagi, Sato and Chozen has either attempted or belonged to cobra kai at some point
Miyagi do takes more time to grasp because it requires alot of patience so it kinda makes sense
@@jwilliams7554Anthony too right?
gotta love the fact that seeing Johnny's unorthodox training methods makes you see that there's always a method to his madness. LOL
That's kinda Miyagi style, isn't it?
I really love how Johnny and Daniel are getting along and not discouraging each other while training one another
Johnny is such a dork! Okay, so is Daniel. They're both dorks!
But seriously, Johnny is such a dork! But I love him for it. And his heart is in the right place. It just had to be dug out.

“The human response to danger is fight or flight. The eagle’s response is fight AND flight.”
I love this line.
Terry Silver was right about Daniel enjoying every moment of being aggressive

Loved it when they together
Don't question me Newark lmao
You do realize it supposed to go into the fire, right? Questioning Johnny like mr Miyagi I am not doing your chores reality teaching you a lesson. Nice reference.
I do find it funny how they teach each other Johnny teaching Daniel through pain! Then Daniel to teach Johnny how to break beer bottle by painting side to side! 😂😂🤣🤣
I mean, Johnny isnt wrong about veggie burgers and lite beer lol
Not to mention automatic transmission. As a manual driver I must say, automatic is boring in comparison
Johnny is totally wrong about veggie burgers. It's a Bullshit Tough Guy Cliche to say what he says.
There are plenty of vegetarian and vegan athletes who would win an argument with Johnny.
Johnny is a fictional character, and this show is written by the people behind HOT TUB TIME MACHINE and HAROLD AND KUMAR.
Yeah Daniel if you can't handle the heat get out of the dojo😂
Pretty sure johnny brought out the inner cobra kai Daniel still has in him
Manliness is next to godliness.
This is similar to Rocky 3 when Creed trained Rocky in his style of boxing so the latter (Rocky) could defeat Clubber Lang in a rematch.
Don't question me Newark! Lol
This is one of the best episodes. Johnny's actually a fantastic teacher! He's not berating Daniel, he's pushing him and saying "You got this, Larusso!" as well as explaining WHY everything is being done. Not only that -- when Daniel teaches, he's using Mr. Miyagi's sayings and methods. Johnny is just coming up with it all himself, including "Fight AND Flight!"
And the way this episode ends... he actually understands Miyagi's "No be there," and also found an indirect way to get Daniel to embrace aggression. In Miyagi's absence, who knew Johnny, not Daniel, would be the wisest person on the show. Well, maybe just every now and then at least.
The more encouraging version of “quick silver” 😂
"You shouldn’t be defending, you should be offending."

Training like a real man
When Breaking out of hell started playing, for some reason I was like this song had to play at some point in the series.
I know TV, but honestly now you need more Johnny Lawrence style over Daniel style just don't be a bully.
Breaking Outta Hell by Airbourne
Daniel now has learned Quick Silver, Miyagi-Do, and Eagle Fang. 😮
i like how there is no sweat when daniel is training
Johnny and Daniel are both very good teachers. They just have different methods.
Daniel was always a hothead so even though he’s very skilled with Miyagi do, the aggressive nature of Eagle Fang/Cobra Kai was more natural to him.
Daniel opens up a part of him that he never knew was there. They’re Yin/Yang brothers
Good
I didn’t realize how good of a series this was. 😮
We need to see this side of Daniel more often in season 6.
Lmfao, im ngl that automatic transmission made feel some type of way😂😂
Quiet! Keep climbing larusso!
THIS is where their bromance begins.
Yk I find it real funny that Johnny despite being from California is aggressive and Daniel despite being from Newark is passive. This show is just one big middle finger to stereotypes and I love it 😂
Reminds me of Sidekicks with Chaz Norris
Daniel felt alive after learning some of Eagle Fang from Johnny.
This show is the best bromance about two men navigating a mid-life crisis that I've EVER seen to date.

So glad at this point they both manage to put their differences aside and give either defensive/offencive ☯️ ways a chance
The sign on the wall of the abandoned factory spelled WEBBER Industries. It's an easter egg for Daniel's original surname in the Karate Kid's script before the writter changed it to LaRusso. Daniel LaRusso was supposed to be named Daniel Webber.
Johnny all the way but Daniel got down Eagle Fang faster then Johnny got down Miyagi Do
Vegan burgers etc lol
thats how i become a man by driving a manual transmission LOOOL
Well he ain't wrong. Ask ANYONE under, we'll say, 35 or so with a cock n balls if they've EVER driven a stick and AT LEAST 9 out 10 of em will say no.
I mean I haven't driven a stick since junior college and that was nearly 25 years ago but if I needed to I'd be able to relearn.
Notice how much more conducive Daniel is to this rough style of teaching from Johnny compared to when he was a kid being "taught" by Silver. They had completely different interpretations of the ideas of Cobra Kai. For Silver, it's about winning by any means, even through cruelty or deception. For Johnny, it's about simply proving you're the strongest without any tricks or gimmicks. "No mercy" doesn't mean "Anything goes", it means to never show weakness and dominate your opponent with honor. Where Kreese falls on that spectrum is up for debate, but Johnny clearly developed his own idea of Cobra Kai that was separate from what they had in mind.
Perfectly worded. I feel the same and I think in the end Johnny will take over Cobra Kai and make it his way like he originally did with Miguel. Kreese has found some major redemption in S4 and S5, and the flashbacks in Vietnam make us feel so sad for him (lived in poverty, bullied, lost a mom to suicide, a friend in Nam, a gf to car wreck, gaslit by an evil captain). S5 shows that the merger of Daniel and Johnny will always be 2 separate styles but not enemies, so they won't be Miyagi Do or Eagle fang (which was a joke obviously), they will be Myagi Do and Cobra Kai, now allies. Kreese will likely die after some major final redemption of some kind. Honestly though I'd be fine if they never made S6 because S5 ended perfectly.
@@StepUpMedia039
No way. Gotta be season six. What about the Sekai-Takai? (Or however it's spelled.) Why have that entire story arc and not do anything with it? And now that Kreese has escaped prison and his name cleared, it only makes sense to see where he goes next.

I'm realising that, Miyagi-do is, by design, devastating. Chozen demonstrated it. If there were items Miyagi never taught Daniel, perhaps he thought Daniel wasn't ready as far as the MIND goes. I would imagine this was the crux in KK3 where Miyagi didn't want to train Daniel further until he was absolutely certain. The tournament meant precious little in that respect.
People like to say that Johnny has less to take away from Miyagi-do than Daniel from Eagle Fang. That I don't know if that's true. Miyagi-do has a tendency to be not quite what it seems. Johnny likes to talk crap about it, but he has seen what it can do. It seems to be more of a mindset rather than a skillset. I don't know... if Johnny ever opts not to use Miyagi-do, is it because it's useless or because it's... you know, devastating?
Man, i just realized Johnnys Flat is No 2. He became 2nd at the 84's All Valley, what lead to the forever rivalry with Daniel.
Daniel-San, does your Mother know you walk barefoot on hot Coals?
Johnnys training is surprisingly Miyagi like. It might focus on strength but also is about deflecting attacks before they get to you. Bit more spartan but similar. Daniel liked the training too much in the end
Counter striking (Miyagi Do) vs Combination striking (eagle fang)
