I can. If you watch close enough, you'll see Johnny congratulating Dan on a good match and handing him the trophy at the end of the first Karate Kid. Johnny was just as troubled as Dan was.
Funny thing is, Daniel moved in with Miyagi after graduation, so he only lived there about a year.
