I LOVED HOW PISSED JOHNNY GOT WITH HIS CLASS AND PUT THEM THROUGH HELL AFTERWARDS.
He May Not Like Daniel, But Had Had Respect For Mr Miyagi After He Saved His Life.
Too bad Johnny never acknowledged it back at the first season.
Johnny and Daniel were on the same side from the first episode. They only wanted the best for their kids, Miguel and Sam, and later Robby, Hawk, Tori, and Demitiri.
Tori?@@dchang11
That probably mostly has to do with being a war hero rather than him helping Johnny. Johnny seems like the type of guy to support the military.

The way Ralph delivers the line "you don't earn the metal of honor by stealing it" gets me EVERY TIME. Like the way his east coast accent comes through, the way his voice dips OMG
You can see just how much of a father Daniel sees miyagi as.
He almost cried
They way the cobra 🐍 Kai students and kressse was looking at Danny boy the way he confronted Johnny was funny. Everyone got quit😂🤦🏾♀️ I feel bad for johnny he had no idea. But Danny boy should have yelled at kreese and Hawnk because they are responsible for this mess. Hawnk has blood 🩸 on his face it’s obvious he’s behind it Danny should have known. Even though johnny and him don’t really like each other Danny should have known kreesse and hawnk are more evil then anyone in that room.

No. He started to worry he'd get caught.

Before I watched this series, a colleague of mine said that Ralph Macchio is a really god actor. I think this scene really shows it. The anger and pain he is expressing at 1:55 when he said "you don't earn a Medal of Honor by stealing it" was very powerful.
Indeed.
First in "You don't earn a medal of honor" you hear how almost his vocice broke, almost like he's about to cry.
But then there's a lot of anger with "By stealing it!"
I know it's just a show, but you don't EVER touch a war heros Medal Of Honor
Exactly. Miyagi fought a long war. Hawk didn’t.

Terry Silver will be proud of Hawk. That could’ve be his favorite Cobra Kai loyal student than Kenny Payne
The hawk man
I was thinking the same. Both Hawk and Terry are extremely smart and savvy. Hawk is an expert coder and designed the ring in the miyagi do dojo. Terry is a shrewd businessman and knows how to work the angles. Him mentoring Hawk meant that Hawk would have been even more vicious but also subtle and sly in hiding it so that he would not be telegraphing his aggression.
Legit would have been the ultimate evil teacher-student duo and both also have shown the ability to express remorse and also try and move on. Terry moved on from the past for 35 years while Hawk moved on from his loss from Kenny pretty quick and called Kyler out for not being able to do the same.
In fact Kyler and Kreese are two resentful losers who are holding on to the past.

when daniel said you don't earn a medal of honor by stealing you can hear the hurt in his voice

You can see he pretty much sees miyagi as a father and is reacting how any son would if someone disrespected their dads honor
Even Johnny stepped back and was like "What did one of you do?"
This comment aged nicely, remember that one time went myiagi killed someone and stole something
It’s always baffled me how a military man like Kreese would be in favor of the stolen medal. Must be jealousy and insecurity.
The man had problems since the first movie.
That is kind of ironic now that you mention it, however it's probably more so to spite Daniel and Miyagi
He doesn't look at Mr. Miyagi as a US Solider...he wouldn't consider with worthy of the medal to begin with.
@@Kevin-tz2lvI mean, I'm pretty sure the term he called Mr. Miyagi in 2 was just a racial slur. So yeah.

And then Hawk became one of his best students
He could’ve be Terry Silver favorite student
@@manuellim6284
True, Hawk had the perfect template to be Terry's number one student. Just like Terry, Hawk was aggressive, vicious and both are extremely smart. Red Hawk would have been the perfect protege to Terry Silvers cobra kai which was black and red. Terry would know how to mold the red hawk and refine it.
@@cobrakingkai maybe Hawk should change his silver color Mohawk. Hawk would've been absolutely dangerous to a criminal level with his amount of skill and with terry silvers influence. He would become more intelligent on a sinister level. Hawk would instill fear in students from other dojo's just like silver instills fear in Daniel. Hawk would become everything mike Barnes was just a smarter bully.
@@manuellim6284
Silver Hawk would be great but red hawk was extremely dangerous. If the Red Hawk that fought Brucks had fought Kyler, Kyler would have been traumatized in their first fight to the point of not wanting to even look at him ever again and Kenny would have been put out of commission for years to come.
Eli became competent defensively as a Miyagi-do student but in reality, his growth could have continued as a demonically powerful offensive fighter as the red hawk as oppose to become a karate fighter who wins but does not do damage.
Terry would find a way to mold that pure aggression that Kreese created and Terry would have polished it, cleaned it and made him to someone much more dangerous than Mike Barnes. Realistically speaking, Eli is an expert coder and has athletic skills, great work ethic on top of it and knows how to stay focused at a task at hands. Silver would expand that by sharing his resources and his experience with the red hawk.
@@manuellim6284
Also I think Silver would want Hawk to be Red Hawk since his dojos were red and black which is red hawk. That and Terry told Kenny to be his own man. So I do not think he would want Hawk to be Silver Hawk.
Its was a huge thing with Hawk switching sides. It could have been completely different story like Robby showing up at the house fight and stopping the fight.
He would fight off Hawk and Kyler. Afterwards Robby would not join cobra kai at all. So it would be Hawk, Kyler and Tory as the main cobra kai fighters.
They would lose since they would have no Miyagi moves with no Robby but Terry would take a liking to Hawk and may use his contacts to hire modern karate teens like Mike Barnes to help prepare Hawk and Tory since Kyler is worthless and barely beat Chris who is not good at all.

Taking a Medal of Honor is another level of disrespect
Yeah I feel like they went a little too far with that. Vandalizing the dojo was bad enough but messing with a deceased person’s Medal of Honor just crosses so many lines.
The way Johnny looks down as hes getting lectures by Daniel just shows how his words hurt him especially since hes doing his best to change.
It's incredible how easy kids (especially Hawk, Sam and Robby) can turn the disagreements between Daniel and Johnny much worse, the worst part being that both Daniel and Johnny are not aware of the real responsible one behind such thing, blaming each other in the process, and once they realize who actually 'did it', the damage is already done. Indeed, Johnny was not aware of what happened at LaRusso's house, but he took the blame anyway, because his students did it. After all, "no such thing as bad student, only bad teacher", until you realize there is another teacher in the room, with much meaner intentions than the main teacher. The point is that all three men paid the price afterwards. Johnny lost Cobra Kai to John Kreese, then Kreese lost his dojo to Terry Silver, and Daniel, well, he almost lost his daughter to PTSD and formerly also lost his dojo. Once again, "even if win, you lose". Mr. Miyagi was so correct about what was going to happen in the series.

Daniel should've told Johnny "I'm not that wimpy Larusso kid you met back in highschool anymore Lol!" 😂

No, it happened because Hawk became an agressive prick
It was all over a yelp review 💀
It was actually because Kreese got his tattoo wrong
1:50 Kreese’s knuckles started to hurt.
You know John Kreese may have respect for Mr. Miyagi for being a Medal of Honor recipient but he let his bitterness & own war experience cloud his judgement. And of course Johnny would be pissed, he may not like Daniel (at this point) but he respects Mr. Miyagi
THe running theme of this show was always "Just talk" Johnny and Daniel always yelling at each other, Daniel blaming Johnny for everything and Johnny oddly was innocent in most of those cases
1:56 feel Daniel’s pain
I think a lot of people don't understand HOW significant the Medal of Honor is. From its inception in 1863 only 3500 medals have been awarded. Unlike the Silver Star which has had over 150,000 recipicants (and it was established in 1918) or over two million purple hearts. And the Medal of Honor is awarded to you by the President of the United States personally (or to the family posthumously).
It doesn't matter who's Medal of Honor you stole. Stealing it is an absolute big deal. Add to the fact for the show that it was Mr. Miyagi's, you now have a MAJOR F&^% UP!
Gets even more messed up when you realize he fought in the 442nd who were practically the Japanese equivalent of the Harlem Hellfighters.
All this because of a 1 star Yelp review by Demetri
