Xuv700 vs tata safari 2023 comparison
Little bit biased like all youtubers. Hector diesel has a functional roof rail and drives smoother than Harrier. In city use Harrier runs harsh due to its stiff suspension and Hector is fine in city and with speeds upto 100-120 on highways. No mechanical upgrades in 2023 for both cars. Fit and finish of Hector is way better than Harrier. I know as I own both. Pls compare diesel models. At times, I feel all yourubers are paid by Tata to promote its products or youtubers are scared to praise any chinese product even if the product is really good. Harrier is a nice car, no doubt, but so is Hector diesel.

i have heard so many horror stories of bad after sales service that despite liking the car i tend to stay away from even exploring it.
@@ankanshrivastava5537 So I will tell you my experience . I own a Nexon and I had a bad experience with the dealer due to non transparency . Now I looked out for other service centres nearby and I found one where they possess customer obsession and help customer in best possible way. What I would recommend is you can go for tata cars if you like them but prior to that try to find out a authorized service centres with good reviews.

I am a sedan lover but still hector is forever in my heart and I will buy it in the future.....
I have had Tata cars in my family, they're good. Coming to topic, off late, I have noticed, this vlogger is either big Tata fanboy or hired as their salesman (also look at his Harrier promotional shorts). I have experienced Harrier (my relative's) and also recently purchased MG Hector, not more than 10 days ago. Day 1, I drove Hector 1200 Kms (Nagpur to Bangalore), good power, top notch comfort, amazing Infotainment.. I mean 17 hours drive and I was roaring to drive few hundred more Kms. But, if you listen this guy, he keeps on adding, ye accha ho sakta thaa, wo accha ho sakta thaa, .. For e.g he says 360 camera is not up to the mark, totally untrue, it's crisp clear day and night. He tries to zoom in map with finger swipe, just press it, it loads instant. Screen response is nicely optimized. He calls substandard Harrier Infotainment as amazing, like really ? Instead that has been a biggest letdown of Harrier facelift. There is no comparison between Harrier's JBL vs Hectors Infinity speakers. Hector is far superior, he rates both as same. Just sit inside both cars, Hector is much more premium and comfortable, which Harrier feels half baked and rushed facelift. I am not saying Harrier is a bad car or something, it's good in its place, but the way he is finding fault in Hector isn't experienced by me at-least, and demeaning it won't elevate the other product. This video feels to have been created intentionally to promote 1 product against the other.

I would choose the Harrier. Although it doesn't look as fancy as Hector, it has convenience features that will age very well in the long run and you'll thank yourself that you chose Harrier.

Tata harrier is best
No doubt performance and safety is better in harrier, however, you ostensibly were very biased towards harrier. Hector looks much more plush and design is very contemporary with adas level 2. By the way I have bmw gt, so don't own either of car shown. It's just a feedback.

You got it absolutely right Motor Octane, large display doesn't mean it is the best display quality. The infotainment display in many Chinese cars are either blurry or laggy. They don't give you the smooth experience at all. That's why they give you huge screen to compensate that. But Harrier improved the display quality and installed the latest Harman system.

I took both test rides. But confused between
Hector feels more luxurious,
Rear space is also good as the floor board is completely flat. There is no hump. But the diesel automatic is clearly missing. After sales service & customer support is good as I heard some real owner revives.
Harrier power delivery feels a bit jerky. Diesel automatic is Wow factor. Maybe because of the inside dark interior it feels not that roomy or luxurious , depending upon choice!! After sales service and customer support needs improvement. Even the sales staff & showroom experience is lacking.😂
I'm looking for a diesel automatic because daily run is 80kms in mix condition
Any day i would go for HECTOR because 3 reason:
1:Petrol version
2:No Hump on floor in Rear seat
3:Good after sales Services
We Indian should think logically rather emotionally.
Looks : Amazing.
Comfort : No Doubt.
Performance : Superb.
AC : Can feel Ladakh in Delhi.
Music System : 10/10.
Service : No complaint about it.
Safety : Feels safe on this Car.
Cabin feel : Much bigger and airy.
Sunroof : Massive to check out Chandrayaan 3 from the Car😂.
Breaking : Upto 140kmph with all 5 adults , Machines stops easily. ( But I hardly drive more then 100kmph)
Boot Space : Enough for luggage and kids with mattress.
Average : 7-8kmpl City , 13-13.5kmpl Highways.
Features : Fully loaded.
Model : MG HECTOR, 2022 Sharp CVT Petrol , without ADAS.

I am not against Tata . But their Cars* are not good. Not talking about J&LR*. Had bitter experience with Tata Cars. So..

Sharing my two cents as an owner of Safar 2022 XZA+ : the steering is super light, my BMW X was much more taut so I would say it is very light. Efficiency for Safari automatic as per MID: 9-9.8 in city traffic- Highway easy drive around 17. Everything is fine with the car but coming from German cars the built quality is far from what people say it is or expect at top model (+27L)- The weight of the rear doors is light and regular kissing of the Volvo parked beside it has given it many love bite on the side panels which are super soft. Interior quality and finish of plastic is poor, paint quality is poor, panel gaps are odd specially when closing the boot- Sometimes it is locked and show 5mm or could also show 10mm but still locked! Checked it with the service centre and they say, this is how it is...
However good thing is the size and imposing stance, it helps u disconnect from tight traffic, sound insulation is fairly good, parking is super easy too, actually don't need 360 in 9/10 situations on this car in case someone is on the edge- its a nice to have feature. Most importantly the car drives very well and the Hyundai automatic transmission is surprisingly quiet and fast. It can go on anything without trouble and for its size it's surprisingly fun to drive.Question is- Is it a desirable car or a keeper? hmmmm
I’ve just sold my BMW 520d and am worried that the fit and finish of the Harrier will give me a shock.
That said, it’s not fair I know, to compare a BMW with a TATA, either price wise or fit and finish.
I am interested in white colour automatic only. And, in white colour automatic, there is no 18 inch tyre size available only 17 inch.
Please advise.

Hey, good video. I want to buy the Harrier automatic but I’m concerned about the panel gaps that I saw during a demo sometime ago, were very inconsistent - somewhere narrow, somewhere very wide.

I myself own a harrier and am a Tata fan. So, definitely a little biased when it comes to the comparison but the video itself shows the new harrier to be better in every aspect.
Also, I think you missed one of the major factors to keep in mind while choosing one - BUILD QUALITY (these 2 cars aren't even close IMO). And it's MADE IN INDIA, by an Indian company. Why would someone even choose a hector now honestly :p (no offence to the folks owning a hector currently)

@@nithinalagiri1326 MG Motor India Private Limited is an automobile manufacturer in India, a subsidiary of Shanghai-based Chinese automotive manufacturer SAIC Motor which markets vehicles under the British MG marque.
I like MotorOctance channel, but this video was surely rushed through and not all details or the scores given were right.
Infact, it felt more supportive and biased towards Harrier than Hector ;)
Please check the videos thoroughly for details:
1. MG hector has 12v charger whereas video says it doesn't have. 12v charger is in the armrest.
2. The music system of MG Hector is much better than Harrier. Its clearly audible in the video too. Still the video gives both 9/10.
Harrier music system sounds cheap without much detailing whereas immediately after, Hectors sound system feels more detailed with lot more clarity, still same score for both in the video.
3. Roof rails of Hector can also take luggage and official accessories come to hold luggage.
4. There is no match of interiors of two cars. Hectors interior is notches above, feels premium, luxurious and best in class.
Harrier interior seems 5-10 years old & dated and cheap plastic looking. TAMO should definitely upgrade interiors.
5. You should also highlight the manufacturing and quality controls issues with TAMO cars, plus the 5 years free warranty and free RSA offered from Hector.
Hector is not perfect. It has its own shortcomings - lesser powered petrol engine, bouncy ride(to give more comfort), laggy UI, but lets convey the right, balanced and informed view to the viewers. Same is true for Harrier with some strengths and some weaknesses.

Mg hector is a very good car, this video is bit biased towards harrier, only problem with hector petrol is mileage which is now rectified to some extent with cvt gear box, hector petrol cvt is ultimate luxury, harrier diesel and hector diesel are almost same except harrier has a advantage of auto gear box

Looks like you wanted to support tata . Atleast for me I felt like that. What is ADAS without Adaptive cruise control, this is biggest drawback in tata. But stressing on the memory function of the seat in tata more prominently.

All these comparisons happen between top end but that's not everyone buys, so things change a lot as per variant
I had a confusion between mg Astor, kushaq and taigun, if you take overall maybe kushaq most people would suggest , but for my budget of under 10 lakh ex showroom no other varient even came close to MG Astor style for features and comfort it offered!
I bought Mg Astor Style and i am more than happy with it, compared to its proper rival creta, Astor base variant is almost equal to creta mid variant and has even some extra useful features!!!!
This is what we miss and we need to see in more detail as per budget!
If motoroctane can add a section with budget suggestions like these cars from start from say 9.99 lakh and go upto 21 lakh, for 10 lakh this is good , if you up the price then this is good likewise for all budgets it would be really good at the end !!!

@motoroctane Please also mention that a very common feature TPMS (Tyre Pressure Monitoring System) is not given in Harrier and given in variants like neon taigo, venue, older cars. It's also a safety feature of a car but missed by tata and they talk about Adas and all.

New gen hector is the fabulous man!! The looks interior, exterior, road presence all are just amazing. I mostly prefer Hector over harrier because harrier not looks so fancy and their service also not so good.

Harrier has improved alot in past few years, i had bought my MG-Hector at the end of 2019 but at that time hector did have an edge over harrier then but now harrier seems to have caught up to hector and might just be the best right now

@@josh27007initially i took test drive of both, initial i liked xuv700 for its smooth drive experience in city as safari’s hydraulic steering is not so smooth compared to xuv700… but then i took 2 more test drives of both, then found xuv700 to be more of lux car than a an SUV, Safari to be more for rugged n suv in nature… n like the mascular look of safari than the xuv700, and also i saw many videos of xuv700 owners complaining of so many things in the vehicle , xuv700 waiting period is 1 year, after waiting for a year for the then having these kinda issues is really worrysome, safari getting delivered with 3-5 weeks..

Tata is improving with leaps and bounds with each model and it offers best safety rating. I would prefer to buy Harrier coz of its looks and ride quality. Hector looks more like a 'dabba' from the side considering its height and the tyre size in comparision.
The main three things one should look for while buying a car are - Platform, Engine and Gearbox coz these things are most important. Tata Harrier is built on Range Rover platform, has Fiat Engine and Hyundai gearbox. That itself will assure a good and maintenance free ride for a long time.
I think one of things that nobody talks about is that harrier and safari have hydraulic steerings which is a big negative. The driving comfort is really bad.

I'm still waiting for my XUV700 delivery since 7 months now. With the new Safari update, does it become a viable option to consider?
Reason being, my running is very low, hence unsure about the diesel option with Safari.

I was in the same boat as yours. Got tired of the XUV700 waiting time and finally booked the new Safari. It's a great car, feature loaded, amazing performance. You will not regret it. I also had never driven a Diesel before, so getting used to the engine noise will take some time.

Harrier . Harrier is almost has become the complete car but still has to improve on the looks inside and outside esp dash area which will bring more sales than the Chinese/Korean cars.

Hector is the best in class, with the best ADAS and a very advanced interior.
Tata didn’t engineer that auto gearbox, they bought it from Hyundai. That gearbox is the old Tucson’s 6speed auto.
