where do you find parts im in the us and theres nothing looking all over line and all i see are parts for new daihatsu nothing for my 96 atria. also yes it helps i had no idea about the front nipple luckily my van has no heating issues i keep the water topped off now for sure
Finding new parts is difficult but I have found that a lot of parts are compatible with other vehicles, but it is then an issue to find out what parts are the same as others. 🤯
There is a difference between the Fan coolant temperature switch and the coolant temperature sensor which threads into the block and sends to the temperature gauge.. That was the wrong comparison you made when thinking you had bought a new temperature switch but instead had bought a temperature sensor.
My purging system was less than £30 brand new so was an investment as it would cost more than that to get vehicle fixed at a garage & have it for future use!
Thanks again for the through explanation on the cooling system.
No problem, I have the cylinder head gasket set to do next so will film that!
Just bought a Daihatsu Hijet pickup from 1998, thanks so much for the clear instructions!
This is a well explained video, thanks.
Very useful! Thanks for taking the time to put this together. Appreciated !
Glad you liked!
awesome video. Thank you.
Cool vid, the old thermostat was stuck wide open btw!
I am taking an interest since it can help me to trouble shoot and fix any issues it may have while I am on the road.
Fantastic much thanks
Great video, have the same problem , where did you order the part please , searched online but no luck finding it yet. Cheers
I bought the thermostat from ebay and the temp switch was ordered through a local garage.
Nice vid! But what engine and year is this Hijet? is this procedure the same for a 1.3 efi from the year 2000?
This particular vehicle is 1994 1.0 litre, but I am assuming this procedure will be very similar on most as the design hasn`t changed too much.

How can I do this at home without a purging system and basic tools?

Is this distilled water?
No just normal water!
