I have Tonali as VOLANTE in my Newcastle save. Took him a while but three seasons in he is now a superstar in the role! 👍

I have just fell in love with the role recently, this guide will help me perfect my tactic! I had previously paired my Segundo volante with a deep lying playmaker, but the half back makes so much more sense.

This is an excellent explanation. I’ve just started using Knaps Volante 4-4-2 formation, and already im having great success with it, even in English 4th Division, but wasnt sure why. Thank-you for the in depth breakdown.

Great video. I am in my 6th season and looking to make some alterations to my tactics, looking at trying a midfield 3 with a double pivot like Tan Haag Ajax so I’ll give the SV a try. 🤙🏼
I've had really good luck playing a 352 with three CBs, two midfielders set as defensive wingers and two DMs (one Segundo Volante the other Ball Winning Midfielder). The space the the Segundo Volante leaves open is covered well by three CBs. Your width is entirely dependent on your defensive wingers (who play as sort of "wingbacks" in the system). They end up running a LOT as does the Segundo Volante but it's proven to be very defensive and really compresses space. I don't play it against teams that really exploit the flanks but against everyone else, it's been great (Championship, Premier League and MLS so a wide variety of skill).

honestly i always has difficulty to see how each team instruction.affect the game, like when i active hit early cross, what is the difference when i not use it, i don't see different, because sometimes even its not actived, player still cross from deep. Play short passes, when i see team.analys, my short pass close to medium range pass and there's still lot of long pass. about pass into space, work into box, in transition intruction, every team instruction. it would be nice if you can make series about team instruction in detail, how to see when they apply in a match so we can understand what effect it has when its actived. i already try to find detail about team instruction, only text explanation, i need to see it in a match like you do when you explain role, how to utilise every team.instruction. hope you can make it, :).
Ok I am going to suggest this, start by playing with no Team Instructions and Player Instructions. The issue most people actually have is understanding the role itself and what it does.
Team instructions and player instructions only help when you know what each one does, but you cannot understand them in isolation.
Everyone understands the basics of a role, but when they toss in the Tis and the PIs thats when they start getting lost. My advice play without Tis and PIs first before stepping it up, which is why the preset tactics can be a bane and not a boon for new players. Start with a custom clean slate and work from there.

i have one question about familarity of tactics, u used Houssem Aouar as Libero and Segunda Volante with 0% familarity with position, how it works ? when someone have stats good for this position did he play as his level or lower ?
Role is not problem if he have stats, but amc into cb is not smart at all, atleast i think so
I've always wondered about this as well. I have players with versatility and all the right skills, so it seems like they would be good fits, but I'm always hesitant to try because of that big red, unfamiliar.
there is a lot of DM"s with high defensive stats but low passing stats, i would like to use them as defender but they are not familiar, simillar to right Midfielder and Right Attacking Midfielder
Attributes are important, if he has the right attributes he can play the role, though he may make mistakes. Over time they get better. For a laugh I was with a friend I joined his game and he had Ozil playing as a Libero. He had some of the attributes he wanted from the player, he didnt care about the tackling. He just wanted the passing, and it was enough.
The color red is just suggestions from your staff. It doesn't affect the performance of a player. You can make a defender as a striker with good understanding of your tactic. The color of it will change over time as they play the role reapeatedly.
Since when is the segundo volante a "playmaker"?
There are roles in the game that are variations of the playmaker and this is one of them.
@@BusttheNet variation of a playmaker? I think it is not a playmaker and you are confusing your viewers with this misnformation in an otherwise good video. It is not a playmaker role as in teammates will not primarily look for him, and he will not move towards the ball more than a non-playmaker role. These are playmakers: advanced/roaming/deep-lying playmaker, trequartista, enganche, regista. The segundo volante is a runner in the defensive midfield strata, it is as much of a variation - or an out-and-out playmaker role - as the inside forward or false9.
@@viktorkiss5442 no he's saying that he plays like a playmaker but it's not called a playmaker. Offensive deep playmaker. Attacks space
@@viktorkiss5442 Volante's scores, defend and assists. Fundamentally, playmakers elements are in it as well.
