Did you mean to say rockets use more paper for more duration? I thought it was gunpowder. Looking forward to seeing linked farms next year.

I am sure it has been said before but feeding items through the crafter could be used as a clock. Useing a compairator you could read a specific signal strength 1-9 every time an item runs through the crafter.

I was really hoping you could set a recipe in the crafter, laying out the materials, and it would only allow those items into the crafter in those spots. Then you wouldn't have to be quite so meticulous about the order you fed items in. In you diamond pick axe example, you'd preset it with 3 diamonds across the top, 2 sticks down the middle, and the other 4 spaces locked. Then any diamonds you fed it would fill in the top row only, sticks the middle column only, and nothing else would get loaded. Then once the crafter was full, you'd detect a 9 strength signal and power the crafter.

Having a preset recipe could also allow it to act as an auto-filter-sorter: put up to 9 individual items in the recipe, and a hopper underneath, so that only those 9 items would load into the crafter and get immediately pulled out again by the hopper.

I had assumed that was how it would work as well. Being a redstone noob, I'm having a tough time getting any value out of this.

    • @MasterTMO

@@skyhijinx I believe if you overload it, fill it to the brim with the ingredients you want to use in the place you need them, and then just keep hoppers facing into it with more ingredients as it takes some It keeps refilling. It's not ideal, but it's simple.

I watched Silent talk about the hopper thing, and basically creating a sort of hopper filter for poppies means that the full output of a iron farm can be run through the crafter, and only the poppies get pulled out, while the iron then crafts itself into blocks. Run the poppies that get filtered out into a composter for bone meal for a two-in-one auto farm.

And run the string to to a bow maker with a bamboo farm add it a cobble stone generator and a witch farm for redstone and you have a dispenser farm. I tend to build farms without thinking if I actually need it

You could use a crafter in the same up/down or diagonal line to save on iron you would use to craft hoppers

I think you could use the function of taking things out like a sorter. Say in an iron farm you want to compact into blocks of iron, every poppy that runs through gets pulled out but all the iron stays. Or in a general mob farm, you could use that too.

They should've had the bottom hopper pull the same way they push stuff into the crafter, going round robin through the slots.

The crafter idea I had was linking zero tick dried kelp farm and auto auto craft it has dried kelp block for fuel source . It would save time of crafting dried kelp as dried kelp blocks. We can even link it as a auto fuel source for other farms.

It would be cool if they let you designate spots in the crafter to be certain items. For example, for the pick axe, set the spots for the diamonds and the spots for the sticks.
Maybe like an item sorter does but you can do it for individual spots... idk if that makes sense

I don't understand how the hoppers get locked so that they can't pull items out of the chest. I tried to reproduce this behaviour in another build but couldn't do it. The way you explained it, it sounds like the powered crafter is what locks the adjacent hoppers, but from my tests it seems that is not the case. If you could explain that would be amazing. [EDIT: OH! My mistake, I had hoppers going into those hoppers, instead of chests. I guess the top hoppers can still push items into this "locked" hopper, but it will not pull from a chest.]

neet, so how do you get them out of the crafter not 1 or 2 at a time? all the videos I have watched leave that part off the lets build this part. :/

  • @skyhijinx

Followed the tutorial and it's brilliant but i'm having one issue. When you loaded the chests and flicked the lever, yours started spitting out rockets one batch after the other. Mine is only doing one craft of 3 rockets and then stopping until I flick the lever again. I don't understand why. Could you provide some insight? Also, thanks for explaining what is actually happening. I'm pretty new to redstone.

What signal level do you get if you have 9 diamonds in one slot?

    • @raymondstheawesome
      @raymondstheawesome 8 месяцев назад

that would make a signal strength of 1, because the way the developers made it, one inventory slot, no matter how many items are in that one slot, makes signal strength of 1
