Still curious why this is still a problem, even tho valve wanted to something about these gamble sites. And I can't understand why tf2 content creators still support and promote these sites. You really want to make money from shady peeps who literally stole money from underage children? This says everything about these sponsored tubers.
Bruh it's like csgo lottery all over again
Agreed, DasMxd

I’ve never thought about these kind of things, gambling is a real problem.
yes, i did neither
my english is terrible, sorry :P
@@tothakos3846 You’re fine
Yeah it really is, that's why you see more countries ban lootboxes aswell. My country already did, so now I cant open anything anymore, which honestly might be for the better as annoying as it can be.
My friend lost his $1k backpack because of gambling. This dude (most likely lying) joined our server and said that he won 200 keys or something from this gambling website. When my friend joined the website he lost all his items because of his crippling gambling addiction. We later found that the website wasn’t legit. We think the person who was on our server lied because ANOTHER person from the site (the one who literally won all of my friends items) joins OUR server to flex my friends items. Be careful out there
The moral is clear: Kids (and rising RUclipsrs), be careful what you do online and check any suspicious information

@@WAMOTF2 if you can't do a job well, why do it? mediocrity isn't a substitute compared to genuine skill.
@@WAMOTF2 I'm not saying you should stop if that's what you're thinking I'm trying to get at. I'm just saying, not this video in particular, but the recent videos have been very click bait, shallow, low hanging fruit and you can go off on tangents a lot. This video you made today is something I'd like to see more of, minus the title. If your videos titles were more informative, your video have a concise flow from point to point, you stay on point and don't have a filibuster moment, and you utilize the seek bar subtitling more often to let people get to the meat of what they want most you'll do better in my opinion. This is just me, a concerned fan, giving constructive criticism because I know you do listen.
this is the exact reason why i was very cautious on getting a sponsor for a friend of mine! the first thing i told him was to never accept a gambling website because firstly, its already against valve's TOS and was worried for the audience.I have personally used those websites and it has screwed me several times. It is time to change!
Honestly TF2 crates themselves are better, even if you get like 17 smg skins, you still have at least somewhat “fair” chances yknow.
"Your channel has grown a great sum."
"Y E S ."
In the end, it's an ethics problem. I think we can assume a lot from the creators who regularly accept this sort of paid promotion. I personally find it disgusting. And it also makes no sense: if you want to try your luck and gamble on TF2, you can. Just buy a key and open a crate. There is no need for these third party gambling services, they exist only to scam less aware players.
well said.
problem is doing 10x 50/50 coinflips with 1 key each still lets you end up with more money on average than if you opened 10 cases with those keys...
@@TCLG6x6 either way, you lose money. The difference is when you open cases you are contributing to workshop creators (who get a percentage of key sales) and when you use a gambling website you are giving money to scammers.

I really liked this video of yours and I decided to make a translation of it into a Russian language, because I hope by this translation we can show Russian part of TF2 community this problem. So now I want to ask you for your permission to do this action.
Yes pls.
Im not WAMO and im not russian but i will like ur comment so that WAMO can see it
This is quite a big topic, it’s a horrible thought to think of younger TF2 fans, gambling and getting addicted, good video though, keep it up.
I once made 45€ on tf2 blaze starting from 1 key then I lost it all
Well thats why kids should not gamble its against tos lol
I don't even think these gambling sites are legit at all. They must be rigged
Here’s a heads up wamo at 4:20 you scratch out some staff member names from the site but you can still hear their names pretty clearly unless you said a different name on purpose just letting you know keep up the good content 👍
It actually does look a lot like it matches up with some of the letters.
Either this is a 4d chess move, or Wamo did an Uh Oh...
Nah, he said the real names. If you're slightly familiar with the trading scene you know who are seven and matt, both are rich asf and all they made was on the back of the younger tf2 community members, which make a pretty big chunk of the entire community.
I think hes exposing them but censoring the names so he could have a lifeline and say it was a mistake he left it in.
Lmao 420
@@Uub27 I doubt it but it’s a possibility
This is a real issue and it has been for AGES I was 15 in the height of the CSGO gambling craze and I spent every penny I could get my hand on gambling which eventually led to addiction which I am now recovered, but the ease of access to tf2 gambling sites to children is just as bad, if not worse which caused valve to slap a 7 day trade ban on their favourite game just to stop it.
I love how you censored the screenshots, but left the voiceover in, haha
Yeah but he put the low pitch for the names can't be understand
4:21
He can pretty clearly be heard saying the names Seven and Mat
Personally, I don't care. I skip, and that's it. And if the creator has a 18+ listed, and then kids go there, it's their fault. About gambling addiction: I had a friend who would constantly play all his, his friends, including my money. And eventually lost, obvioulsy, and then everybody had enough of his trash, and now he is in prison for robbery. I absolutely hate gamblers and I don't care what happens to them. End. Also, I have to agree that it's pretty scummy to advertise these, but there are some reasons to do so as mention in the video.
It’s scummy but if the creators take the money and make good use out of it it’s better than them pocketing the money
My dude I couldn't say it any better
Fucking logic 18+ gambling sites for 12+-16+ game
precisely. creators probably need the money to keep themselves fed, and it isnt their fault if some kid goes on an 18+ site. that is a job that should be taken care of by the parents. if it isnt taken care of, you learn the hard way, by losing money, and you'll definitely never do it again. end of story.
There needs to be more responsibility if you are a creator making content for an audience, especially when that audience is mostly youth.

@yoo o yeah
Why would your redact the names with MS Paint only to say them out loud as you read the script?
Because he wants to expose them
Oops
Because ironic effects of course lmao
Exposing
Who said that those names were there real names?
While I can agree exploitation is bad, painting in broad strokes is similarly discordant. I prefer to be informed and then draw my own conclusions.
Please be aware the tone of your scripts is becoming adversarial.
I was thinking the same....
you're not wrong
I have to say, TF2 crates and unusual drops are also part of gambling. You're spending money on something that is purely by luck. It's also is addictive to certain people.
However, unlike what Valve does, these sites made it that you will have a very miniscule chance at actually getting anything worth a bunch. Why would you even trust other people that made you a machine just for you to spend a lot of money on it and win nothing back? This is why I am against of gambling.
Oh, and by the way, it's great that someone finally talks about this problem. Good vid, Wammy c:
Uhhh what?
Gambling actually has a high chance of getting somthing better vs unboxing
Been seeing more tf2tubers advertising gambling sites, makes me think hell there's a reason God mentions why we don't gamble.
It is easy to understand and even feel sorry whenever someone young and gullible gets pretty much manipulated by this kind of gambling techniques, but why have we forgot that like younger people shouldn't even play the game in first place? I don't see any problems if an full or close to being adult person wants to gamble, but you cannot blame site owners for thinking they don't care about the younger ones falling for that if they gamble. This is purely a problem on parents side I believe.
I hate how unclear the title is, every single time I have clicked on one of your many tf2 news videos I feel nothing but disappointment since you make it seem like there is a possibility for something larger with your vague titles. I understand that this stuff is news worthy but I would prefer to know what the video is actually about without having to go through the video only to find out that its one issue that can easily be summed up in the title. Similar to how you did in the description.
It’s called clickbait and it’s very annoying

While its true that gambling can turn into a horrible problem, we should consider that TF2 itself ITS NOT TARGETED TO KIDS. If u check the steam page, is rated M or Mature, aka for +17.
But the problem is that no one enforces this, generally only a few puts "+18" on the gambling sponsorships, but thats not enough and everyone should know that.
Lmao fr
Harassing content creators for finally having a sponsor is terrible. Yes, we want them not to promote shady sites, but creating content as a small time creator for an old game with minimal to no payment for it is just not gonna do it for most people. This can and will kill some smaller channels, especially if this is the only deal they got so far.
No matter how much they are being paid, promoting gambling to children is not okay. these ads against RUclipss ToS and can get channels terminated. If these sites are willing to sponsor you it's likely that other trade sites and mobile games will, trade sites and mobile games are a lot more ethical and are safer for the audience.
WAMO And where is the proof that these gambling websites are targetted towards children?
honestly 40 keys? i wont lie but i totally would take the deal

Hello good sir, If you wonder who i am , i am actually one of the betters of blaze ( for 1.5 years) . To fully understand this the issue is that if the child chooses to bet on that site it is their fault as the site has a accept that you are over 18 and accept terms and condition and in the end if they accept it even though they are a child then that is THEIR fault not the site. Also for promoting sites pay people to promote because there are not as much tf2 youtubers left out there and even with the payment sites need players to come to their site. when you said greediness of the site, as a person who has been on the site for 1.5 years . the members, admins, mods and even the owner are such kind people as they have returned many items back for reasons of losing to op items or losing something and getting another item . The owner is a kind and hard working guy and ik that from experience, matt is also very kind and hard working as he does his best to please the players who bet, toast also tries his best to help with tickets and people with raffles , taco's a very good guy and says good jokes. But you know like site has a lb which gives 1000+$ every month for people who can stay #1 for that length or the other 9 which still get other cool prizes. also when you said you were not gonna mention other sites, you mentioned the owner's name the admin's name and you did not bleep out the site's name -_-.PLUS to say you also said greedy people to them and you as you were in the server for just your few times before being banned, you begged gigazet (a big better on the site) and asked if u donate to me i will put a screenshot in my next video XD and i have a picture of it if you want proof.

Dang, it's shame this stuff happens. Thanks for the video tho! I prolly won't get sponsored but I want to start making some tf2 videos and to know to stay away from these sites are cool. Like you said, 40 keys is insanely tempting, so good on the people who turned them down. A true RUclipsr that wants a good community puts their community first and money second
Left handed view models always throw me off. Good vid 👍
I'd say this is less of a problem when the channel is supposed to be 18+. This doesn't mean it makes the site any less bad, but at least those tf2 tubers cant be held accountable for minors getting onto the site.
What they can be held accountable for though is the fact that the existence of these sites is illegal of itself. Valve does not allow these gambling websites to do what they do and they get taken down frequently. Advertising these may potentially also get you in trouble (although I'm not 100 perc sure of this)
I think i remember seeing one of arraysevens videos having a tf2 gambling site as his intro
Ah c'mon I just ignore the ads, I know people only do that because RUclips doesn't help youtubers >~
For about 2 weeks I kept getting steam friend requests from people who were supposed admins for a site called "TF2 Roulette". They DM'ed me with the same opening statement and unfriended me as soon as I said words like "scam", "fake", or if I shifted the conversation away from the site. They've seemed to have stopped now but I just wonder how they even found my steam account to begin with?
The flipped viewmodel is throwing me off so much
The most shocking thing in this video is the Scout holding his weapons on the left hand side of the screen. Truly disgusting.
Flipped view models that increases your aim depending on your dominant eye.
left handed viewmodels are the best thing in the game i don't know what you're talking about
Good work, you're really starting to be a great tf2 yt, keep up the great work
To be honest, drumming fish making raffles with hat that he got from open cases, better than nothing
Darn I wish they would have contacted me to put a video in mine.
I would put a black background behind the ad playing and probably blurt out some of the information.
"I did say I would use your ad. I didn't say how I would implement it."
Love the music in the background, you got great taste man
Tyler's great 👍
dude most parents make sure their kids know the toxicity and addiction of gambling at a very young age, or at least tell them that gambling is only good if your using spending money when your old enough to gamble. And plus, not many children play tf2, the age range for tf2 is pretty much just from 12 yr olds and above, and most preteens have enough functioning brain cells to not gamble. And tf2 youtubers are not scummy for promoting these sites if they put disclaimers before the sponsorship, and tf2 youtubers should not be responsible for their fans lying about their age to get on these sites.
But i think their should be a way that you confirm that you're old enough to gamble on these sites, and the owners of these sites should put a weekly gambling limit on users of their sites.
That's a lotta ads!
I understand completely why content creators (not just tf2 creators) want to do these sponsorships. It's sad however everything that was stated was well said and none of it surprises me at all. Hope content creators all across the board start thinking about themselves and their communities more, instead of the financial gain. Much love Wamo
Uhh or kids can follow the tos and not gamble? Its not really the owners fault if kids dont follow the sites rules
@@nathinomen8254 I agree. Even if kids gamble or not, the idea of supporting this is pretty disappointing.
@@Shetts how so
I feel like I can agree with some of you video. Once it gets to the end though most tftubers do this and care about their audience. People need money to buy basic things like food and water or they might want to be able to make their videos better or hand out with friends. These are all basic things that most people want. Just because someone is promoting a gambling site doesn’t mean they don’t care about their audience.

RUclips as a platform continues to be harder and harder to work on full-time with random demonetization. Content creators need to sell out in order to have financial security if their videos get randomly demonetized, copyright claimed, or age-restricted (reducing viewers). Obtaining sponsorships is not something that can simply be done overnight as your channel would need to have enough subscribers and viewers to convince an advertiser that their ad in your video will be a worthwhile investment. These gambling sites are easy pickings for RUclipsrs with fewer subscribers and connections. I think option 3 at 8:05 applies to this group. But for larger channels with hundreds of thousands of subscribers such as NISLT and Delfy, channels that should be big enough to convince other advertisers like Nord/Express VPN or Honey, you begin to wonder why they continue to partner with them.
It might be ok to accept the sponsor of some gambling sites but as long as they keep it 18+, then it's ok. for beating their competators tho, thats just basically what companies do to their competators everytime

Encouraging your viewers to stay away from gambling is good.
Weaponizing your viewers to attack the comment section of creators sponsored by gambling sites is really bad, man.
Encouraging people to not promote gambling and break the community guidelines isn't exactly what I'd consider gambling but anyway.
There's a difference between promoting your views and weaponizing your viewer base. Directing your viewers to comment on other content creators' videos is a literal witch hunt in which you are spearheading. That in itself will deal more harm than good to the TF2 community.
@@just.cody. Its not weaponizing, look at the comments they arent aggressive nor hateful. People hate the gambling sites not the creators.
You're actively utilizing your viewer base to spread your message directly to content creators. Call it what you want, but this is how drama is started. I'm not sure how you can't see the potential harm.
1:37 thats the whole point of a casino lol
Just saying, cant blame people for accepting the deal when they get 80 dollars for spending a couple hours playing a video game and making a video about it

Creators shouldn't be held responsible for what their viewers do, especially if they play games not meant for kids.
If a creator promotes something dangerous to their audience it becomes the creators problem and responsibility. If they choose to take money to promote sketchy and illegal sites to their audience it is too, their fault.
GAMING TIME
I would not want 40-45 keys per week if I knew that was all "rotten money" being used to scam kids and other minors. It's a shame that people have to make deals with these shady sites to stay afloat, heck, even Raid Shadow Legends would be a better sponsor as a generic mobile game with micro-transactions is far better than a shady gambling site.

As someone who used to play a lot of CSGO. I nearly fell into the trap of gambling. I did get a M4A1S hyper beast out of it but that’s all. I know many others that poured a lot of money into getting better skins. Hell, about 70% of RUclipsrs I watched would be promoted by sites like CSGO Wild (remember THAT site?) and there were so many CSGO gambling sites, CSGOFast CSGO Lotto, CSGOMagic Bolt(dot)GG. A lot of these now are defunct thanks to Valves ban on gambling but this lead to them taking to other games like PUBG or DOTA which ALSO hid the ban hammer. TF2 seems to be the next likely candidate for it because of how much Valve promotes trading.
On the topic of TF2 RUclipsrs, I can emphasize with them if they took the sponsorship because they needed the money. Lemme give an example, Anomaly a CSGO youtuber needed to get his dad out of a lawsuit for him to stop working at a printing factory. His fans asked for a go fund me but he felt bad taking money from them so he took gambling sponsorships for a while and even took responsibility for it calling himself a sellout. However some of the replies I’ve seen from these RUclipsrs are plain stupid. One of them just said “TF2 is an M rated game so” like come on. The same happened to CSGO. If this gambling shit gets any bigger, valve will have to add a trade ban on items like for CSGO and this is completely kill trading for TF2 along with Marketplace, Scrap, Mannco and even Backpack. I’d much rather them get promoted by idk, OperaGx or a Marketplace site because at least they can directly purchase what they want instead of losing tens of hundreds of dollars for that dopamine hit.
