I'll say it a million times but the revolver is legitimately one of the strongest mid-long range weapons in the game lmfao. 6 max range revolver shots does 126 damage, so with lots of spies staying well outside of the normal range of any enemy's weapons it's very hard to contend with. Only sniper really stands much of a chance, but a sniper will have to deal with a lot more people able to hit him and make him flinch. So uh, gunspy stack op lmao
Its honestly soo fun to play lol. Yeah the revolver is very underrated. When i watch top level competitive spies, they usually all use the revolver in high level games.
@@dumblenutz5561 Sap a building and unload into it! Buildings can't dodge your bullets and the engie will either fail to save it from you or you'll be enough of a distraction to get someone else to destroy it. It's just a free and swift destruction if the engie leaves it for even just a second too.
I once saw 2 spies run a gimmick where they both ran the enforcer and synchronized their weapon shots to insta kill people from a fair distance away, It was a pretty good strat ngl
I joined a server and picked spy. The entire team proceeded to switch to spy with one of them saying " Gentlemen, this should be easy." We got curved stomped by pyros seconds into the match. Funniest thing ive ever seen lmao

I feel like any other team comp would be more effective, but something about the unity when every player voluntarily chooses the same character and coordinates is terrifying and amazing.
With a normal team comp, everyone's playing the game the way they want. But once everyone all goes one class, they've made the choice to surrender their autonomy in favour of joining the hivemind and proving that they can still win.
It's because the spy's revolver is like the only long range, hit-scan, somewhat rapid-firing weapon in a game that is otherwise very skewed towards close range. This means that they can mass their fire without having to reposition to make up for the revolver's lower damage, and do so from relative safety.
@@gigastrike2 I think the Spy's bizarre survivability and ambiguity has a hand in it. The main thing for sure is the thing denpadolt said. When everyone works as a hivemind with a plan and the proper motivation to coordinate, the resulting tenacity is terrifying and...well...amazing!

You couldn't do this with shotguns because they lack the range to attack from safety or switch targets without spending time to reposition. The range of the revolver facilitates mass firing better than other weapons.

I remember playing 12 medics vs 12 ABSOLUTE tryhards on dust bowl that were toxic asf. We lost by a lot but we had a lot of fun and basically humored the tryhards.

To be fair it needs at least 5 to go from weak to strong otherwise 1 spy is the perfect amount
It may be weak, but a gun is a gun, it may not be enough for 1vs1 but 6vs1 well, good luck because you wont dodge 6 bullets per second

I didn't believe that gun spy was this good until I tried it. It actually works surprisingly well as a pick class.
