I can't take the county's side in this. They have lied and obfuscated since the very beginning. Many of them should not even be in office or positions of power anymore. Full disclosure is what is needed in all government actions.
Disclosure alone does not address the problem that caused Maui's massive death and destruction. Needless to say, history repeated itself when Lahaina burned to the ground twice because of the lack of responsibility and accountability. The problem that has caused all of Maui's castrophic disasters including Maui's housing crisis is Demo Rats. Clearly, the problem is never the solution that caused the problems and until Maui's residents hold Maui's Demo Rats accountable, responsible and liable then residents have no one to blame but themselves.
The public no need consent from you folks. You guys work for the public . The blame game continues and you guys trying to distract the people from what the whole situation is about.
While the fire department is at fault for not putting out the original fire they are not being held accountable, and blaming the utility company..pathetic..public safety failed period
Public record is public record. Everything will eventually come out. Sometimes it's redacted for security purposes, but your feelings and trauma (while totally valid and not to be looked down on) are not subject to redaction. If they didn't want to make official statements, they could have said no and told the AG to subpoena them.
When the people are wrangled into only voting for candidates of one party, there is no accountability - no one looking out for the good of the voters. This type of disclosure is a move in the right direction. However, the people of Hawaii still deserve so much more.
What was done to the people and the loss they can never get back is just plain horrifying. You can't trust the officials in this town as it is a take over of the people land at all cost. This will become a 15 minute city as an example to all.
The human cost of this fire is incalculable. We are trying to determine what happened so as to avoid another catastrophe. Public employees were asked to give testimony about their observations. It is included in the report, which the general public is entitled to read. From the public's perspective, there's no point in anonymity. Identifying the source of an observation is one way the public can weigh the value of the testimony. This tragic event probably doesn't cover the responders and other involved entities and residents in glory. But Maui cannot afford another such disaster. Let the chips fall.....
I lost my house in a Santa Barbara wildfire. Everything seemed fine at first as the fire was small and up in the mountains. Then the wind shifted and started blowing at 70 mph and the temperature was 105° and the humidity was around 5%. In my neighborhood there were two homes that won architecture awards for being fire resistant construction. All of the emergency response plans laid out by the county kind of went to shit because everything happened so fast and those beautiful award winning homes along with mine we're all burned flat to the ground in a matter of about two hours. When the winds subsided everything was immediately under control. But over 100 homes were burned flat. It makes me sick to the stomach to listen to people laying blame on others and coming up with childish conspiracy theories when it was nothing more than a friking natural catastrophe! Get over it and grow up and dig your boots in and clean the shit up and do what you can to get back to normal and show some love to your neighbors.
Recorded or not, people died. These people paid mortgages to properties eaten by the fire. Adding in salt to injury, these people paid rent on top of their mortgage payments. How inhumane would you want more to be? Help them or have you in jail instead. DENG!
there's like 20gb of reddit video an sum twitter chump that can actually git uncompressed and one interview with lt mayor an one wiff flappity flappity josh , its not even 850gb

It needs to be open to the public. Too bad if u don't mind 😊
It’s says it’s available to the public.
They aren't uspet because they poured their hearts out. They're upset because they know they're guilty.
Guilty of what?
Incompetence and dereliction of duty as well as lying during investigation.
It’s the entire government, not just some random county or official.
That's what they meant by "no single cause", because saying the entire state and county government is fail.
@@KellyB.-wi9nf They failed to mention they planned this thing in advance. They failed to mention it was deliberate.
I'm just glad no public 'official' will be held accountable.
So what facts are the attorneys trying to hide?
Time for the Kingdom of Hawaii take charge.
Coverup local style
Transparency.
What do you have to hide? Why not make them public?
😢so many excuses

It's ironic that there's a push to remove qualified immunity from police but not ALL public employees.
If you haven't done anything wrong, what are you worried about?
They(government) were worried about the residents? Bit late isn't it?
can this get any more worse? 1 year later and these officials still aren't on the same page.

Haha, for the people , expect all your actions to be FOR the people .

Summary of 500 page report: "extreme wind causing chaos and extreme fire behavior". Duh...... 🙄
The public deserves to know everything. The County works for us. They seem to have forgotten this.
To this day the jeep liberty on the bypass isn't spoken about... 🤔
"is it okay if i record you,"

On Maui they hide party affiliation. We don't know whos who here.

The 15 minute city isn't going to happen.
@@LonnieBrewer-dd4wi don't be to sure. Not this year, maybe not next year, and in the meantime there will be no new homes built.
I could not understand the garbled message. Can someone print out the conversation ?
