    I secretly love that the unfinished edges looked better than the pattern recommended, finished edges that are modern aesthetic strives for. Historical garments are gorgeous and most of them to not have the internal edges all bound up and finished in perfect LOL

    This video is so inspiring to me!!! I have a super soft broken in flat sheet that I want to upcycle into a robe and I even bought a pattern for it already! The sleeves are straight but it does have a nice full skirt that I'm excited about. Since the fabric is so light weight I am thinking about lining the front of the bodice portion of the robe both for modesty and to give it a smidge more structure. 😅

    Oh! the robe is so beautiful!!! It looks so cozy. I wear PJs most of the time too. I absolutely love that armoire you have. The detail is so beautiful. I have never seen one that large. I guess there isn't a need to have them here where I live. Since most homes have walk-in-closets. (at least all the homes we have had have them) I have lived in Southern California until 2 years ago when we moved to about an hour's drive to Las Vegas Nevada.) I can't wait to see the next robe you make.

    Beautiful. That pocket is seriously funky! I made a similar one from a vintage pattern at Christmas (although mine has princess seams and buttons all down the front). Like you I love swishing about in it and just don't want to get dressed some days. 😁 Stairs are a bit of a challenge - have my eyes open for one of those Victorian skirt lifters!

    I’m afraid I don’t understand why the sleeves/cuffs were so different in the examples you showed. Is it something to do with the direction of seam allowances or the placement of the gathering stitches?

    • @Leeam
      @Leeam  3 года назад +3

      Yes, the seam allowance lay in different directions, which influences how the sleeve drapes. I’m sorry, I don’t know how to explain it better😅
