I must say, I started watching this video expecting a pretty impressive patchwork robe. I did not expect the epic video editing, grandiose music, nor the sheer volume of puns and quotes! You should be seriously proud of yourself for this project!
I'm of the same mind! This woman is a treasure trove of talent! The filming and prosing were quite delicious - as beautiful as the robe at the end. I would be so proud to wear a robe as fine as that. Although I might not find it worn often here in Central Florida where our few days of "winter" are usually borne by wearing sweatshirts and socks over sleep pants! 😂
Oh, so true! I'm a bit heartbroken that I had to leave it with my parents (it was far too heavy to come back overseas with me), because I could REALLY use it starting.... right about now, as it starts to get colder. But it just means I can look forward to using it once I leave CPH! And also, thanks so much for that song title - I'm sure you noticed it was one of the first ones to appear in my video, as well as another by the same artist, and it's just so perfect for the calm hobbitsy vibes... really appreciated it!!
Well, I think I technically could have fit it in the suitcase with some cramming, but it was also that I already have SO much stuff that needs to come back with me at the end of this contract, including a wool winter coat I made that's even longer and heavier than this robe, so I was also thinking about trying to make my life easier in the future, when I have to pack up and ship out.
that's quite true ! I have made my "confinment skull crochet blanket" and added a free pattern in the middle a crocheter made during quarantine, with little hearts, to remind to stay close with the people we love, and this blanket is very special for me. I can not imagine when a whole community of sewist would have been giving yarn for it !
This is not just a tutorial on how to sew a patchwork robe. You have created a real movie with music and different fabrics in the style of the Hobbit movie. This is the true spirit of fairy tales and magic. Thank you very much! 🧙♀🌟💖
Everything about this project makes my heart sing! I'm a quilter and a costumer, so I have buckets of leftover fabric scraps. This is something I just have to do! I might also make one for my husband, who is the real JRR Tolkein fan, and who has said, "There is nothing nicer than a home made quilt."
oh, it's so nice to see you in my comments! I've watched your "Tablet Weaving for the Absolute Beginner" just to see what I'd be getting myself into (the answer was: a bit too much for the moment XD) and you have such lovely work!! Very inspirational
Having watched this, I want to turn all my scraps into patchwork squares as I make the scraps (easier to keep organized and "saves" time when making a patchwork item). This is quite ironic, because I currently have no stash and am barely starting to sew at all 😂😂
As soon as I caught the mere barest glimpse of this gloriously colorful, wonderful fabric, my eyes widened, and it seemed as if the universe itself was calling down to me: 'You must make a patchwork coat.'
I'm realizing that I can plug into this glorious analog sacred space anytime I wish, and as a knitter and seamstress (well, historically), this is going to make my 2023 blossom all the more!
I've been compiling images of old Hollywood robes *circa 40s/50s* as I've always wanted a glorious house robe. This.....THIS changes EVERYTHING! I've got a fabric stash of donated and mostly used bits that need somewhere to go.......It's been 8 hours since I watched this....I'm surrounded by fabric squares and rectangles that will become a custom house robe of epic proportions. THANK YOU!
Everything about this project is delightful… from sourcing the fabric, to the hours and hours of stitching on a vintage friend, the deliberate use of Tolkien quotes... right down to the barefoot reveal. 😊 And now I have apparently added, "Sew my husband the Tolkien nerd a Bilbo robe" to my very long project queue!
Wonderful! Thank you so much, and I definitely hope your hubby appreciates all the work you're about to eventually one day do for him (very worth it though, IMO)!!
Both are excellent reasons to watch this video! The dog has a few features just for herself, I'd highly recommend the Corgi Fainting Couch build, which is another super fun upcycling project, but with even more corgi content!
I love that, a stash buster for a small village… so true 😂😂 So what does that make my latest patchwork endeavour? A stash buster for an entire online community?! Gotta think of a catchier title than that!
I feel like Tolkien himself would have loved this project and video. You put so much care and thought into every step of not just the coat, but the video itself! The music, editing, prose-like narration full of Tolkien like language, perfection! It makes me want to make a similar coat... but all those squares would give me nightmares.
Another Shannon here, 🙋♀️, pippins scarf has been living rent free in my brain since the movies came out; it has always been my desire to recreate his scarf as screen accurate as possible. I have finally reached a skill level as a knitter that i feel competent enough to tackle it. This past summer i found fiber that very closely matches the contrast colors, and is being spun up by my best friend, and i will spend this Christmas break meticulously creating the pattern. ❤
This video. Holy Hannah. Not only was the sewing great, but the STORY, the EDITING, the MUSIC, the CORGI...all of it's literally making me cry a bit from joy, it's so good. This video did NOT need to be so epic, but by gum, you did it anyway. I came to your playlist for another vid of yours, glad I clicked on this.
Thank you so much!! I'm glad you enjoyed it, thanks so much for watching and commenting, and I hope you stick around on the channel for other videos as well (although I see now that you also found my Sports Corset video... I have a whole playlist on the topic, if you need to know more about them for your heroine, including some historical context for why they were developed)
What an absolute masterpiece! Two of them....the robe and the video. The music was enchanting, the storytelling mesmerizing, and the village of fellow crafters and friends who donated was so heartwarming. Your robe is a treasure....absolutely beautiful and fascinating.
Wow, thank you for the lovely words, I'm so glad you enjoyed it 💙🧡💚 Feel free to stick around and check out some of the other videos on the channel, since you like this one - I've got a whole playlist on "sewing-and-recycling" if you like more in the same vein!
Fashion icons should take you as an example. This is the coolest and most beautiful jacket I've ever seen. I hope that one day, instead of brands that just make clothes with fabric, people will appreciate and buy products from talented artists like you who create true works of art."
My family is obsessed with The Hobbit. LOTR , so your project has lit a fire in my sewing, quilting life style...there will be a Bilbao robe in the near future. The hint for the right fabric is on!
The shots of apple trees in bloom looked almost unreal) The mirrored images were a nice touch. And the reveal! Fantastic! 🤗 Also thanks for reminding me an idea I had for a cosy housecoat)
The apple blossoms were absolutely magical, I didn't plan that timing, and was so stunned when I arrived and it was just... so scenic. Truly accidentally perfect timing. And I'm glad you appreciated the duality of the mirrored images... trying to find a way to show the similarity of several steps without trespassing on viewer's patience was challenging, but I was happy with the result, and it's satisfying that at least some others noticed it as well :-D
Ooof, writing a book is very much out of my skill set - I admire those who can write, and I love reading myself, but I'm not sure I have a book in me!! Thank you for the encouragement though, and feel free to stick around and check out some of the other videos on the channel!!
@@ShannonMakes Oh yes, you have it in you. There are lots of styles in writing a book. You can write down your narratives of these videos. Short stories from your life in circus, so you can easily create a diary type of book with pictures attached to your short stories. People like those kind of books…. “A window into my life.. where you are allowed to pick through for couple of second at a time”… type of book. You get the idea ? I’m sure you do. You have a very interesting and active life, plenty of material to write about, including your traveling around the world, adjusting to different cultures, meeting new people, plenty of material !!! At least think about it. And start writing your first chapter while thinking: my pros and cons on writing a book as one of my YT fan suggested to do. See.. not hard to start. 🤗😃
The sense of community and efforts to use thrifted materials and loaned tools is very on brand for a Hobbit's housecoat....this video is a warm cozy feeling through and through
The amount of work on this robe is incredible and the result awesome ! Plus that video is soooooooooo well edited I am very impressed. I am very happy to have done this thrift flip collab with you !
Thank you so much 😀 I'm very glad you liked it, and your end result was equally creative, and such a unique take on the challenge/prompt. I'm glad you stopped by to watch, and I'm very happy to have (virtually, at least) met you via this collab!!
I came across your video in my random scrollings through RUclips, but I stayed all the way to the end because the story, the sewing and the project were all equally magnificent! ❤
Thank you!! I'm glad you enjoyed it, and I hope you'll stick around and check out some of the other videos on the channel - there are SO many fun Makes in the archives!! ♥️💜💙
Thank you!! It was so fun to meet you (and everyone else involved) through this collaboration, and I'm so happy with the final result... very warm and cosy!
Shannon that's a lovely name! My stepdaughter shares your name as well!... I guess that drew me to watch! I'm a quilter and I recycle loads of fabric! I sew on a Janome Workhorse 3000 model. It's just fine I keep it busy. You see I started sewing in 1970.. My Mum said one day I time to learn to sew..! I said"What"!!? So I made a pair of curtains for my bedroom. Purple with white daisies! Shannon I was hooked! Well back to 2023.. I just finished 4 Prairie Point Table Runners for family gifts. I love your Hobbit Robe! Best wishes Bonnie Ohio 😊
This actually made me teary --eyed when i saw the finished product. The amount of effort and love poured into this and every project you do is amazing. I am a retired grandmother from Oklahoma. I am working on turning a very used baby quilt of my granddaughter's into a pillow covering so that she may still use it as a ten year old. I love your videos and your love of the classics.
Wow, thank you, I'm so glad you enjoyed it! It truly was a labor of love, but it's just SO fantastic as a cozy winter blanket-robe-hug-in-one!! I love that you're saving the baby quilt and keeping it functional instead of throwing it away, that's just so sweet!
This reminds me the story of Joseph's coat of many colors and the idea that I have wanted to make one for my son since he was a little boy and it was his favorite story. One day I will stop selfishly sewing and do it.
A sewing tutorial has never been such an epic adventure! Thank you so much for your efforts, you have completed two great works - the coat of course and the video, your skills and creativity shine brightly through both. Many accolades to you dear maiden for you inspired video❤
I'm Laura I'm from London and I make costumes for theatre-so this video was close to my heart, from a creative standpoint and because I have been a fan of Hobbits since one of my teachers in primary school read us the Hobbit when I was about 7. I am working on several projects at the moment- a corset for a friend, a long term patchwork bag project and a jacket as a Christmas present for a friend.
Wow, it really sounds like there are so many videos on this channel you'd enjoy, from the corsets to the hobbits patchwork bag, to the last minute costume crisis I found myself in last week for the premiere of our Christmas show!! I'm glad you enjoyed this video, and I hope you'll stick around to check out some of the others!
I can barely sew a button on but I watched every second of this video in awe. How beautiful that garment is. How clever you are to have fashioned it. I LOVE it... That truly is a work of art and a treasure indeed. ❤️
I'm 95 hours into creating the fabric for my own version of this. I have wanted a patchwork coat since I was a child, but had never found a pattern that fit what I had in my head. Thank you so much for posting this! The pattern is exactly what I have always visualized, and finally made my childhood wish possible!
I’m not sure why the algorithm decided to show me this, two years later, but it’s quite timely! I hope in the next year to make myself a patchwork skirt, because who doesn’t want to wear a blanket to church on the chilliest of January days :) Thank you for showing us the process, and for the delightful storytelling!

I am just blown away in every aspect of this video. The creativity of the sewing, scripting, editing, and every aspect is just inspiring. I am SO glad I finally found this channel.
I LOVED watching this video! Keeping fabric out of landfill is near and dear to my heart. I loved your project and watching you make it but also your sewing machine, stained glass, your house, your humour, your writing style, your obsession with the Hobbits (I have several obsessions myself, but not that one), your adorable dog, the clever filming/editing, not to mention your infinite patience. I may have to watch this once a week for inspiration. Thank you so much for sharing!
You are very welcome, I'm glad you got so much joy out of it, and you are of course welcome to rewatch it anytime you need an inspirational boost. Hopefully there will even be a few things you notice on rewatching that maybe escaped you on the first viewing ;-) And yes, you can of course share the video in the crafting group!

This woman is a treasure trove of talent! The filming and prosing were quite delicious - as beautiful as the robe at the end of the most epic sewing video these eyes have seen. I would be so proud to wear a robe as fine as that. Although I might not find it worn often here in Central Florida where our few days of "winter" are usually borne by wearing sweatshirts and socks over sleep pants! 😂 I was rabbit trailing through vintage sewing channels and found you. Im so glad that I did! Subscribed!
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed the video, it's definitely one of my favorite projects to-date! True though, that it wouldn't get as much use in Florida 🤣🤣 Glad you found my channel and I hope you enjoy some of the other videos I have just as much!

Wow, it turned out beautiful! And I enjoyed imagining your friends and neighbours watching and discovering bits and pieces of their fabric in the housecoat! Also the filming and editing is fantastic! (my husband is an editor and camera man and I learned quickly to pay attention to this :D )
The music! The sumptuous visuals! The cheeky narration! The Corgi!!! A feast for the eyes and ears - truly! You're a documentalist, and a Renaissance woman, Shannon! I subscribed last night, and today I am reveling in the glory of your remarkable videos!
At time stamp 10:00, is that a pair of the "Guggenhein" brand scissors I see advertised on Facebook? (When I first saw the commercial, I thought they were saying "GuggenheiM" - like the famous museum!)
I certainly hope so -- and I actually chose them to receive the fabric because they offered to distribute/pass along the fabric that they themselves don't want, so it will keep on being Paid Forward, which is lovely!
Production value and projects are always so high quality from you!! Congratulations on another fantastic video, I absolutely enjoyed watching, thank you 🤗
☺️☺️Thank you for such high praise, it can be sometimes be quite frustrating and time consuming, trying to get interesting footage, but it's feedback like this that helps to keep the motivation high
Second that! Also appreciate that you show an ecological way of crafting. And I was impressed by your jodhpur video too: cleverly made and good-looking end result. Good luck with yout channel.
One very beautiful and clever heirloom, which required vision, patience, skill and youthful strength. Congratulations on a beautiful and inspirational work of art.
Thank you very much! 🥰 I hope you'll stick around and check out some of the other videos on the channel - there are SO many fun Makes in the archives!! ♥️💜💙
I'm going to be in church, but will be on to watch later in the afternoon. I'm very excited to see how you did this delicious thing! (Edit) And here I am! It's absolutely fantastic!!!! I'm currently making a set of jammie pants of green plaid flannel which will be followed by my own robe! I found a cream upholstery padded and backed medallion-embroidered velvet for a steal. I'm aiming for the same shape as you got, but more sleeve movement. I'll be binding the seams as no other finish is really practical with the velvet already padded and lined for me. What I used to bind remains to be seen, but it will surely be a snuggly robe for the ages.
Oh, your plans sound absolutely lovely, and I agree that the velvet can provide it's own challenges, but it sounds like you have a solid idea of how you want to handle it, and I'm sure the resulting project will be delicious! I can certainly recommend the pattern that I used (with the caveat that I hated the bust dart, and didn't use it because it was chunky and not delicate at all), so if you are still hunting for a pattern, you could easily use this one and modify the sleeves to have some more movement. Ultimate question: contrasting binding, or subtle, similar-colored???
@@ShannonMakes Thanks for the recommendation. I think I would find similar problems with the darts. as for binding, that depends entirely on how I handle the lapels and cuffs. If I use same material, then the binding needs to match. But if I use contrasts, then obviously we would need contrasting binding!
This is just beautiful! I only discovered this because I've been watching your home renovation content. I AM currently working on a quilt for my son-in-law. It's got DRAGONS! on it!
I don't know how I got here, or what made me watch this, all of this. But it was masterfully done, both the editing and the creation of this robe. Quite a piece of storytelling.
Your video caught my attention because I have a 12 year old granddaughter who is just absolutely fascinated with Harry Potter, and has been for years. Most children outgrow certain interests and phases fairly quickly. This child has held on to this one. I have been wanting to make a robe for her and this has given me much inspiration. If all goes well, perhaps I can expect to complete the project by October in which we will celebrate her 13th birthday. Your video is adorable and the robe is gorgeous!
I have a very simple robe tutorial on my channel (one video for how to make the pattern, one for how to sew it together) and that pattern might be much more what you're looking for in terms of it's similarity to Harry Potter robes. You could start with the patterning one here: ruclips.net/video/W6M0CM3kLbU/видео.html
I am Colette Mack. I found you by accident. We are a kindered spirit. I quilt, refinish free or really cheap furniture. And trying not to kill my plants.. your coat is awesome. Have a great day
I enjoyed your creativity very much. I am an Amateur quilter and love designing my quilts in an unconventional way. Your robe looks absolutely fabulous. I was thinking of making one with the silk ties of my late husband as a memorial to him. I have so many ideas and seem to have to force myself to finish one project before going in to the next!!! Look forward to seeing your next project. Greetings from Sri Lanka
Thank you so much! I've seen some lovely tie-based creations online and I think that would be a lovely memorial to him. I wish you the best of luck in working your way through your To-Make list!
This is the first video of yours I ever watched and when I'm feeling down, tired or I just want something cozy to watch, I find myself coming back again to this video.
Hi Shannon! RUclips knows I like WWII, so when your "Spies, Socks, and Soldiers" came up, I had to click it. I've now spent most of the last 6 hours knitting a shawl (casting off finally!) and watching your videos (I've commented on a few already). Something about this video, the way you narrated, the content, the pattern... hit me in the feels. Thank you for sharing this adventure. ~K from San Francisco
Aww, thanks for the lovely compliments, and I always love to hear what my viewers are working on while I keep them company! I hope that you'll stick around for other videos, even though your project is finally finished!!
It's a beautiful robe but I feel like quilting or even some embroidery along a few of the squares would have really made it an epic robe. Well done, you have inspired me to go sew.
@ShannonMakes l really enjoyed watching the process and seeing the finished garment. I'm currently working on a patchwork quilt that calls for very similar square building technique. It has been fun and frustrating I hope you go on to make many more beautiful and comfy projects.
I have to resist the urge to raid my mom's fabric stash to make my own version of this! My mom has a whole closet full of fabric scraps from when she was a quilter, so I have no doubt there would be enough for a piece like this!
I saw your RUclips video for your "Crazy Victorian Patchwork" first knitting bag; that's how I found you and your channel Shannon Makes. This is a beautiful video for the Bilbo robe, very professionally done. Wonderful resulting garment. You are truly gifted for your ability to pick pleasing fabrics, combine them, and work with the patchwork fabric you create. Thank you for sharing! -Sally from MO

I finally got round to watching this while I am in the middle of hand stitching 800 hexanganal patches together for a quilt. All the fabrice is from scaps collected over the years. The cuttig, piecing sewing together will take a minmum of 250 hours. I hope that when it is done, I have as attrative a blanket as your house coat. Also, I do love a good swish and that house coat all the best swish.
It's lovely!!!! May you have many cozy evenings with a cup of hot sweet tea and a good book. Don't forget the classical music score playing out of your cell phone. I love the tinny sound of mine. Reminiscent of old radio music
Shannon, I cannot tell you how much I loved watching this. I first read The Lord of the Rings when I was 10 - 53 years ago - and The Hobbit a couple of years later. I have read them all many times since, along with most of Tolkien’s works. May our adventures never end. (Ps I am mainly knitting at the moment, and am very excited to get my sewing machine out of its storage box soooon!) gillianxx
I love your sewing machine, my grandmother, sewing machine was one of the first made after WW2 because all factory made war products everyone was on a waiting list. Grandma was lucky and got her singer treadle on the second day. She had lots of patches ready to sew. And made a quilt for each oh her 5 sons and one daughter.
Wow, what a cool story! Mine is my great grandmother's and if I remember correctly, it dates to the early 50s (having looked up the serial number once, a few years ago)! Doesn't have too many stories to go with it, other than she almost definitely used it to repair clothing for mobster's wives back in the day.
Glorious result! Clearly you appreciate and enjoy hand stitching. The footage under the apple tree as blossoms softly descended upon you was so tranquil.
Your Housecoat is beautiful and wonderful. It looks great on you. Your Singer sewing machine looks a lot like my Singer 328 K. I love all my Singer sewing machines. I have been wanting to make myself a soft, warm, patchwork, house coat. Thank you for starting my sewing mojo burning again. I spent part of this morning trying to draft a perfect, paper, foundation, pattern for sewing a complicated quilt block. It will take me many more tries to get it correct.
Thank you!! The sewing machine is a 301 and it's a family antique that I love (although I just found the exact same model for free on the streets of Montreal, so now I have one that lives with my parents and one that lives with me!!). I'm glad to hear that you got your sew-jo back, good luck on the quilt block!
What a masterpiece! Both the video AND the amazing garment! You are a true creative, Shannon, thank you for sharing your talents (and your adorable corgi sidekick) with us! ❤❤❤

Serge edges of all leftover cuts and stitch to a piece of canvas or coat weight wool to cover a footstool or make a small robe, then Bilbo can be seen everyday anytime. Great job on robe.
I must say, I started watching this video expecting a pretty impressive patchwork robe. I did not expect the epic video editing, grandiose music, nor the sheer volume of puns and quotes! You should be seriously proud of yourself for this project!

I feel like Tolkien himself would have loved this project and video. You put so much care and thought into every step of not just the coat, but the video itself! The music, editing, prose-like narration full of Tolkien like language, perfection! It makes me want to make a similar coat... but all those squares would give me nightmares.
Wow, thank you! I would love to think that Tolkein would approve 😍😍
Ahhh, I love that! Now I’m off to google his scarf, get a second look with new eyes! 👀
Yes. This.
That is awesome! Best of luck with your own sewing journey! ♥️💙💚
i cannot tell you how much joy it brings that you made the pockets book-sized!
💚 💙💜
The shots of apple trees in bloom looked almost unreal) The mirrored images were a nice touch. And the reveal! Fantastic! 🤗
Also thanks for reminding me an idea I had for a cosy housecoat)
The apple blossoms were absolutely magical, I didn't plan that timing, and was so stunned when I arrived and it was just... so scenic. Truly accidentally perfect timing. And I'm glad you appreciated the duality of the mirrored images... trying to find a way to show the similarity of several steps without trespassing on viewer's patience was challenging, but I was happy with the result, and it's satisfying that at least some others noticed it as well :-D
@@ShannonMakes time spent on creative editing paid off for sure)
Oh, you should write a book too. You have soooo many talents.
Put these “scripts” together in a book.
You are precious !
Ooof, writing a book is very much out of my skill set - I admire those who can write, and I love reading myself, but I'm not sure I have a book in me!! Thank you for the encouragement though, and feel free to stick around and check out some of the other videos on the channel!!
@@ShannonMakes
Oh yes, you have it in you.
I'm 63 and have been saving beautiful bits of fabric my whole life! A beautiful house robe may be the ticket! TY for the inspiration!💞
Can I do it though?
Definitely, you can do it if you put your mind to it! 💪
The sense of community and efforts to use thrifted materials and loaned tools is very on brand for a Hobbit's housecoat....this video is a warm cozy feeling through and through
Thank you!! I hope you'll stick around and check out some of the other videos on the channel - there are SO many fun Makes in the archives!! ♥️💜💙
@@ShannonMakes Same here ! ♥♥
That is absolutely fabulous. Thanks for taking me there and back again!
You're very welcome, glad you enjoyed it!
I'd faint from a panic attack before even starting something requiring so much work and focus. Absolutely amazing.
Thank you!! 🥰🥰
Absolutely stunning housecoat and wonderful cinematography!
Thank you!! It was so fun to meet you (and everyone else involved) through this collaboration, and I'm so happy with the final result... very warm and cosy!
What a beautiful and environmentally excellent way to use up the huge pile, I might or might not have in my laundry room...
I mean... it's the *perfect* stash-busting project! Bonus points if it's creation also liberates some extra floor space 😂
This is a mind blowing project. All the effort absolutely paid off, it looks incredible!!!
Thanks a ton, I'm so glad you liked it!
This puts me in mind of a Victorian gentlemans robe. Fantastic!
This is a masterclass in craftsmanship and cinematography! I loved every minute of it!

Shannon that's a lovely name!
My stepdaughter shares your name as well!...
I guess that drew me to watch!
I'm a quilter and I recycle loads of fabric!
I sew on a Janome Workhorse 3000 model. It's just fine
I keep it busy.
Best wishes

What a journey, glad you made that first pair of curtains... sewing is addicting, once you realize all the amazing things you can create with it!
Thank you!! I hope you'll stick around and check out some of the other videos on the channel - there are SO many fun Makes in the archives!! ♥️💜💙
Thank you! 😊😊😊
I'm 95 hours into creating the fabric for my own version of this. I have wanted a patchwork coat since I was a child, but had never found a pattern that fit what I had in my head. Thank you so much for posting this! The pattern is exactly what I have always visualized, and finally made my childhood wish possible!
Wonderful!

Отличная работа!!!
Шикарная вещь!!!

I flipping love this Shannon, it's so good. You're giving me ideas for the Scraps Pit.
LOL I'm glad at least one person got the "poe-tay-toe" reference!! 🤣🥔 And yea, this is such a perfect project for the scrap pit... and has historical roots too - check out the quilted "men's" dressing gown hosted by the Museum of Applied Arts & Sciences in Australia from 1835 collection.maas.museum/object/243990

I am just blown away in every aspect of this video. The creativity of the sewing, scripting, editing, and every aspect is just inspiring. I am SO glad I finally found this channel.
Wow, thank you!☺️
I LOVED watching this video!
Hopefully there will even be a few things you notice on rewatching that maybe escaped you on the first viewing ;-)
And yes, you can of course share the video in the crafting group!
I started watching at 730 this morning and have been binging ever since. I LOVE LOVE LOVE your channel and will share it with my daughter...
Oh wow, thank you! I hope she likes it as much as you do!
Oh my goodness! What a warm and wonderful garment! You are a very lucky Hobbit to have such a garment make of the love and support of your community.
Thank you so much, it truly is one of my absolute favorite creations that I've ever made, and it is SO warm and comfy!
Смотрела с восхищением,какая же вы трудолюбивая,мне стало стыдно и я встала и доделала косметичку свою,которую бросила на полпути до завтра ,получился у вас шедевр ,одним словом ручки у вас золотые,браво
Dear Shannon,

Wow, it turned out beautiful! And I enjoyed imagining your friends and neighbours watching and discovering bits and pieces of their fabric in the housecoat! Also the filming and editing is fantastic! (my husband is an editor and camera man and I learned quickly to pay attention to this :D )
Thank you so much, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Красивый халат, красивые романтические съёмки . Спасибо !
I am in awe! The amount of work that went into this, I can't even fathom it. And the story behind it and the cinematography was so lovely!

At 15:28 - you had help with pinning, right! (This footage threw me at first... I thought you had cloned yourself! LOL.🧟🧟♂️)
That's so so cute!
The passing on of the cape fabric! 😍
I hope they make something fantastic as well!
I certainly hope so -- and I actually chose them to receive the fabric because they offered to distribute/pass along the fabric that they themselves don't want, so it will keep on being Paid Forward, which is lovely!

This was so good that I cried at the end. What an amazing thing to accomplish! Both the housecoat and this video are beautifully done. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Wow, I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for all the kind words, they are appreciated

@@adedow1333 ahh yes, that of course makes sense!

I don't know how I got here, or what made me watch this, all of this. But it was masterfully done, both the editing and the creation of this robe. Quite a piece of storytelling.
I don't know what brought you here either, the RUclips algorithm is a complete mystery, but I'm glad you enjoyed yourself, and thank you ☺️
Your video caught my attention because I have a 12 year old granddaughter who is just absolutely fascinated with Harry Potter, and has been for years.

Hi Shannon! RUclips knows I like WWII, so when your "Spies, Socks, and Soldiers" came up, I had to click it. I've now spent most of the last 6 hours knitting a shawl (casting off finally!) and watching your videos (I've commented on a few already).

Not the look I was going for, but thanks
Once I had this on, I don't think I would ever take it off again. ❤❤❤
well... maybe in summer? Its super comfy, but also quite warm 🤣💚💜♥️ Thanks for watching!

I have to resist the urge to raid my mom's fabric stash to make my own version of this! My mom has a whole closet full of fabric scraps from when she was a quilter, so I have no doubt there would be enough for a piece like this!

Thank you!

Serge edges of all leftover cuts and stitch to a piece of canvas or coat weight wool to cover a footstool or make a small robe, then Bilbo can be seen everyday anytime.
Great job on robe.
well this is over 3 years old, so I don't really have the offcuts anymore, I don't think... I'll have to look
