i really miss my 1961 Sunliner....the top went down so fast and she handled like a dream.....we had a Thunderbird V8 and nobody could tell me i wasnt the king of the road.....and of course my special license plates....."61 SUN" loved them too!
I drove one until my senior year of high school. It was white with red interior, God I missed that car, traded it for a 66 Chevy convertible; one of the biggest mistake I've ever made.
I had a 1961 galaxie 4 door it was like a tan color and the roof was white. I sold it on eBay in like 2004 to someone I think in Germany (I’m from Rochester ny). If somebody knows the possible owner I’d love to talk to them.
Funny how my I never thought the ‘61 Ford Galaxie owned by the Dad and Mom of my buddy Johnny in the mid to late sixties was anything glamorous at all. It was fire engine red and it may have been considered a bit sporty for a family car because it had a fairly large V8. But the car was void of a lot of options and, looking back, I see a fairly unremarkable American workhorse. Certainly not the highly fashionable luxury car touted in this ad.
This was my 1st car, 61 352 cu in 2 door hardtop white with blue interior. Loved that car still wish I had it.
This was the best looking big Ford since 1957.

Why a big mistake?

This is the Rome of high fashion.

Big & Better 61 Ford the Year I Was Born!
The last year for the Starliner until 1963.
i wishd id had 2 galaxies 59-61 and red 1961 21.7 1961
i wishd id had some day 4 galaxies 2 red ones and 2 white ones
i wishd id had 2 galaxies
'61 was the last year for the Starliner...they just didn't sell next to the square-roofed Galaxies....
Always thought the Starliner was a handsome look. I know it didn't sell well but I sure wish they would have continued it at least one more year.
i wishd id had 3 galaxies some day
wonderful design for the time but like the 1960 Ford, they too suffered rust problems.
Beautiful car, could do with one of those. All those damn women slithering over it piss me right off.
I WISHD ID HAD SOME DAY PLYMOUTH VALIANT. FORD GALAXIE. VOLVO AMAZON. MERCEDES 220D
1961 Chevrolet impala much better than Galaxy
