- ***SOLD***This is a real deal 60s muscle car. You would not expect this car to move the way it does. It has a total of 23,XXX original miles on the body, the paint is 90% original and the interior is 95% original! It has zero rust, and only Ford components were used for the restoration of the FE 427ci Motor. She sounds like a jet taking off. First Person to see and hear her in person will surely buy it. It is a no B/S car with the original build sheet included. This specific unit was built by a former Galaxie / 427 collector. It was done right!
Interior:
The interior is near perfect; the only mark I can find is on the rear seat bolster (drivers side) less than ¾ if an inch located near the hinge. Otherwise, it is pristine. Take a look at the pictures and you will see what I mean, It’s like you stepped back in time! It even has the OE mats inside! The Hurst Shifter looks menacing and shifts flawlessly. All the glass goes up and down with ease; all of the gaskets are in pristine condition! Watch our walk around/ test drive video! The trunk is like new inside, and you could easily fit
Exterior:
The exterior has 90% original paint with two small touch-ups. I would rate the paint an 8-10. There are minor imperfections due to the sheer size of the canvas! The paint shows very well and has great luster. Wheels and tires are excellent and all of the dog dishes are near perfect. All the chrome is in excellent condition. The Door handles are original and show minor wear. All of the seals are in excellent condition. Looks like it rolled off the assembly line. There is absolutely no Rust on this chassis and or body.
Mechanicals:
This is a straight line Speed Boat. I use the word boat because of the sheer size. It is powered by a 427 FE motor from 65 mated to a T10 transmission with all the power laid out via a Detroit locked 28 spline 3.50 Ford 9 inch rear. She has 3-inch big bearing brakes up front. The Carbs are correct and have the Green tags on them, when the secondary’s open up, hold on because this high revving motor will not stop pulling. This is the same motor run in the Lemans Racecars of the era. It was built to run at high rpm for hours on end. The internals of this FE motor are all OE Ford components She easily has 450+hp. It is set up exactly how a weekend drag car would have been from the era, this includes the Track Bars and Full 3 inch Exhaust. All the bushings are in excellent condition and the suspension feels great. This big girl hooks and pulls until you let off. This is a turn-key Galaxie that needs nothing to enjoy!

My dad bought a brand new '64 Ford Galaxie XL with the 390. I was so proud of his car when he bought it.
A '64 Galaxie 500 XL with the 390 has to be one of the best all 'round show and go all purpose car ever built. I had it all. Gorgeous looks, decent performance, and not so hot your grandma couldn't drive it when she went to church or down the street to get groceries. I LOVE these cars!
@@daleandrews3552 What impressed me so much was the fact these same cars (modified of course) raced at the Daytona Firecracker 400 each July 4th. My dad used to take me to those races each year and wow, what an event. So many great memories, great cars, great drivers.
From a big Mopar fan, this is special to see . Not surprised it sold in a week, super gorgeous bare bones killer, makes the rice rockets look like Leggo.

@@jeremythompson9122 True, but I believe you are thinking of the Ford 427 SOHC Cammer. It's the one with the big heads and 4 valves per cylinder. This one is a 427 FE. Still pretty sweet. I love all makes, but especially the big blocks. Have a 59 T-bird that I dropped a 390 with a 428 crank in it. 4 speed top loader (wide ratio) 4.00 Rousch yates detroit locker, 9 inch pumpkin, 31 spline axles. Yes, I cut a hole in the floor to put the manual trans in. Lots of little extras that gives me about 400hp and over 470 torque at 6500 elevation. It's a kick in the ass to drive.

My uncle had one of these back in '63. I was 14 at the time he took me for a ride in it and really got on the gas. I'll never forget that ride. I've had a lot of fast rides but that one stands out as unforgettable.
I hqd a friend in high school (we graduated in 1965) who drove a 1963 1/2 Galaxie 500XL 406 dual quad (His folks had WAY woo much money). He never took it to the local drag strip, but on Friday night, the Dodges still had more, but the 409's (as long as we had more than 1/4 mile) never shut him down. The soul of this car came at the other end of the road. As you head out of town, the roads are a mile apart. He had already figured what car dealer or grocery store was about 120 yards past 440 yards. Worked almost every time!
I had a 62 Black Galaxy 500 XL with black buckets. 406, 4 speed, 3-2 barrels, 4:56 limited slip in 1965. Looked and sounded great!

My friend had a 63 1/2 Galaxy 500 fastback. I had a 63 Impala SS. This was in 1984 so even then nobody had cars like that. He had a 289 3 speed on the column, black with a red interior just like this one, so no matter what the motors were, to actually just own one of them was really great

Thank you for bringing back such wonderful memories for me. In 1965 my Dad brought home a 63-1/2 Galaxy XL 500 with a 427, 4 speed. It was factory metal flake gold with a white top, white interior with bucket seats and floor console. It was special ordered by the owner of our Ford dealership in Sarasota, FL. He would take my older brother and myself out for cruises...he was a drag racer in the 50's and early 60's and had even bought a 1957 Fairlane Custom with the factory supercharged 312 brand new. I loved that Galaxy and in 1976 I had a 1967 Mustang GT Fastback with a Holman-Moody 427, 4 speed and 9" Locker Rear. One thing you were wrong on was the red line...the cross bolt main 427's would easily wind to over 8,000rpm all day long as they were developed for NASCAR and turned that on the track. I reved mine to 8k when racing for 3yrs and never hurt it. I wish I had seen this when you first put it out as I would have have bought this fine ride in an instant. I never had anything like this beast, but I was a junior in high school in 1968 and had a '63 Galaxie 500 XL 500 2 door with the original roof and factory bucket seats, automatic in the floor, dual glass pack exhaust, 352 engine and many of my friends wanting to buy it from me! Loved that car. Thanks for the memories.
Beautiful Classic in every sense of the word. It is wonderful that some collectors of classic big blocks were able to preserve both the factory 427 and 1963 Hardtop in perfect condition.

Every little town had a Ford dealer. The brother of our neighbor ran one in a tiny town in Coles county, IL. He special ordered a ‘63 Country Squire 9 passenger with the 427 dual 4bbl and 4 spd. tranny, through his brother’s dealership. Beautiful car. It had the blue XL interior with buckets too.

Many years ago while still in high school, a buddies dad bought him a brand new '63 Galaxie, two-door sedan (sleeper), 406, 4-speed. My buddy had the coolest dad in the world!
I wish they still made Ford's like this. Long gone are reliable badass race cars of yesterday. No computers no bullshit just all-out 427 Madness power. What an awesome example

Great looking '63 Galaxie Ranch Wagon running around Portland, Oregon. Dropped just a bit and it is just stunning! I like the high quality interior that was available in this era Galaxie. Love the insides of early '60's Pontiac's too and would also love to get a '62 Catalina 421 SD.

Wow! Nice car. This took me back to my memories as a young boy growing up in the 60's. I remember when my brother-in-law was dating my sister back then (she was 12 years older) in a red 1963 Galaxy. My younger brother and I would sneak up on them while they were in the car making out. What a hoot that was.

Hello all, seeing the comments wow! Yes it originally was a 352, but it is a real deal FE motor stuffed in there. It is as hotrod as it gets for the 60s. It sold within 1 week of listing it up. This was one of the cars I never wanted to sell. I appreciate all the kind words from the gear heads all around the world. It does have extensive race history, and was signed by some of the greatest. This car was a blast to film. Sorry Im young and can afford and drive all these cars while you haters type your rude comments. The best part is I love what I do and get to drive something different every day. I built this company from Nothing and if you have to dislike and tell me how to film my cars, I think you should go buy some of my inventory and show me how to do it properly :-).

Love those Ford's! In 1975 I bought a 427 with a rod broken on the small end and wrapped around it's neighbor wedged between the counter weights... rebuilt it at Junior College auto shop..stuffed it in my blue and white 59 Galaxy with a three speed and overdrive...scattered that tranny on the first full power run. Went a wrecking yard and got everything from the bellhousing back for $250.00.
Put stock full hubcaps on the car with only cheater slicks hinting at what the car was designed to do...sucker 327 Chevy's into street races they had no chance of winning....A 63 1/2 Galaxies with a 427 four speed with 3 K miles could be bought off a used car lot in Santa Rosa for 2900.00 at that time..good old days for sure!!!

I have a picture of my father as a young lad standing in front of a brand new Ford Galaxy that was my grandparents first new car!. It was the same color etc etc.. I constantly here my dad talk about getting one and having it restored to original condition. So I think that I have found the perfect Father's day gift for him and hope that I can pull it off. I never met my grandparents/ his mom and dad but he speaks so kindly of them and I'd love to give him a constant reminder of them because they sound like they were amazingly hard working and as loveable as he is.. Anyways wish me luck on this task and I thank you for sharing this with us all!. 🙏🙏🙏

I always had a lots of comments like, "it's a nice looking car but it's no (insert obligatory 60's muscle cars here)" or "You spent a lot of time on minor rust....eration for a Galaxy".
I had a 1962 Galaxie 500 XL with the 406 V8, 4 Speed and 3 two barrel carbs, in 1968, loved running that 4 speed through the gears.

I bought a 1963 1/2 Galaxie 500 fastback in 1986 the year after I graduated high school. Black with Black interior 390 with a three on the tree. I put in a four speed in it and some traction bars and it would scoot . I've had a lot of good times in it over the years and I still own it and I'll never sell it.
my friend has a 63 1 /2 ... black on red, 427 cu with 2 - 4 barrel carbs, factory 4 speed and it only has little over 23,000 miles too. original paint and interior. Telling you guys, its something to look at up close and hear running. Beautiful ride !!

I drive a Chevy but I have always appreciated the Fords , Chryslers and AMCs . I am in the engine machine shop business and get to work on some really cool stuff . Can't even begin to list all of the engines I have rebuilt .

Big Bill O'Reilly.... I was a young guy in the '60s but I couldn't afford a car until '74 when I bought a 1964 Galaxie 500 (289, AC, Etc.) with 32K miles in MINT condition (except for the cracked head, heads in the trunk) for $50. Still miss that one.

Okay, I'm a old fart. So, back in the day. My buddy Joe had a '63 Galaxy 500. Came with a 390. He found a crashed 500XL in a wrecking yard, with a black interior. Bucket seats, console, etc. We got the whole interior out of it. It was black and perfect. We managed to get all of it in without mishap. He pulled the old 390, which had a lotta miles, and was showing signs of old age. He rebuilt the engine with a mild cam, 11 to 1 pistons, porting and a nice balance job. This old car surprised a lot of people who thought that they had fast cars. I still remember the throaty sound when you stamped on the "loud pedal"

In 1967 I talked a gear head buddy of mine down the street to build a wicked sleeper. I found a 57 Chevy 210 4 door post in light green that was owned by a school teacher in our neighborhood. He went to a wrecker and bought a nice 427 Corvette motor and rebuilt it to near radical street machine level. The car had dual quads, headers, full flow muffler system, 4-speed, posi, racing clutch, big radiator, scatter shield, very beefed up suspension and brakes, tach and gauge panel ect. Except for traction bars, wide rear rims, and cheater slicks the cars appearance was bone stock. I don't have to tell you a lot of guys got a nasty surprise. I think the most beautiful thing about that car was the sound coming out of what looked like little school teacher stove bolt. The best part was the investment was minimal to build a bad ass machine.

OMG I was thinking the same thing! I’ve driven some old single circuit drum brake cars and even when they’re “right” it’s still terrifying to drive ... especially when you have big power sitting up front.

Amazing car, I don't normally dream so big but that car would be on my wish list ! I am a Ford guy and own a GT Mustang, but I was born in 1963 and Yup this car is special. Love it.
That repair is right where our 63 Ford Galaxy 500 rusted out. Its a water trap (1 of many on these old Galaxies) and had to be fixed on ours multiple times.

Yea, not many could go bare bones and look this good. I personally like the 59 Fairlane 500 Galaxie. Best looking interior ever. I could also take any from then to 71. Love them all. But none except the 64 would look as good as this 63 bare bones.

Ya heck. Every Sunday, me and my with 5 siblings went to church in a 1960 Ford Galaxy. Brown over white. Spinner hub caps, straight six, three in the tree, no power anything.
My older friend had one. He invented the Tarantula twisted intake where the carbs sit a little sideways. He ended up as head mechanic for Mercury Marine after working on the newer corvette engines. Quite the innovator. It was a wheel stander and the car I learned to drive in. What a ride, he usually ran Cheater Slicks on the street for cheating.

One of my favorite cars back then. I saw a 63 406 tri-power sedan black and I liked it better than the 427 fastback. I heard the 406 motors didn't last long because they were bored out 390s? I suppose the 406 was Ford's answer to the Chevy 409.

Was 8 years old when my Dad came home one day with a brand new 63 Ford Galaxie 500 he bought for my Mom. He bought it off the showroom at Frank Dore Ford in Whittier, CA. It was a floor shift automatic with a 390 engine and bucket seats. That car stayed in the family over 30 years and was a hot rod the whole time.

A great car. I've seen a very few at premium prices. You mentioned the hood. Most 63 & 64 Galaxy 427 had a raised hood to vent heat with some having a center bubble hood. If memory is correct. It also provided more height for the tall air cleaner covering the high rise intake and air cleaner. I believe the single quad 427 was rated at 410 HP and ran quarter-miles around 14..0 remember. This is a big and heavy sedan. I'm not sure about the dual quads 427 (full race engine) other than it was rated at 425 HP. Thanks for sharing a great piece of history

Incredible deep paint and one of my favorite engines too. Long ago at a race engine machine shop where I worked we had a 427 Fairlane Thunderbolt engine for some work and it had "the best" parts in it, including lightweight stainless intake valves and Sodium cooled stainless exhaust valves. It was what I call a "lust object".
The Thunderbolts were equipped with the 427 “high riser” engine. Very special for sure.

So it had the typical truck motor exhaust valves like all Ford-Edsel truck motors regardless of the "performance level". A "lust object" ? Were you "driving" a skateboard at the time?
What really makes this amazing is that FoMoCo did not get into performance in the 1960's until Lee Iacocca came to the helm and started dropping V-8's in cars in mid 1962. For the Falcon, the 144 straight six was the standard engine until 1963 and their first V-8's were just 260 small blocks. I restored and owned a 1963 Falcon Tudor with a 144 CU six and it was a putt mobile:)-John in Texas
I had a 63 Comet station wagon in dark blue. It had a 260 V8 and a 2 speed automatic. I loved that car and still think it was one of the coolest vehicles I've ever owned
That's not exactly true.
They had supercharged 312 "Y" block motors as options in 1957.
and a 430 c.i./400 hp MEL available up and down the Lincoln/Mercury line in 1958.
The FE engine started life as 332 c.i. and debuted in 1958 which was the basis for all the variations of 352's, 390's, 406's, 427's and 428's.

He walked in one day and made the command decision to tone things down by forcing engineers install two barrel carburetors on Lincolns and everything.
All this when everybody, including FoMoCo, was on a tri-power kick, among other things.

NICE!!! Mine is a 289 Fordamatic Car, I have had Her 45 years...... It is actually the Car I learned to drive in as a child, it was my Grandparents and when my Grandfather passed, my Grandmother gave it to me as she did not drive........
