i have a 1968 F100 that grandpa bought 1967. My dad bought from him in 1972. I took over in 1988 when I restored it. I rebuilt the engine again in 2000. It still runs great. May not look as shinny anymore. It earned the scratches taking us places you could never take a shinny truck. The scenery in those places breath taking
just inherited a f250 from my grandpa, his dad bought it new in '72 and now im gonna be driving it frequently. im a youngen, only 18, but i much prefer the older cars to the newer ones.
I bought a used 71 Sport Custom in 77 when I was 20 years old for $2400, in like new condition, drove it for years. It was a much better world than today. Btw, in case anyone's wondering about Ford's claim of being the lowest price truck with independent suspension, is because Dodge still used a straight axle until 72. A little trivia.
I bought a 1984 F150 XLT in 1991 with a ton load of miles on the clock. And now its 2023. I still drive it today, but now has 3 or 4 ton loads of miles. Its heavy on gas but cheap to keep and easy to fix.
I have had many of them from 67 to 72 and still drive my f,250 crew cab short box and My Camper Special! They both turn more heads than most new ones! The Good old days Of Ford Chevrolet and AMERICA! Remember Then?
I understand brand loyalty and all that but I am convinced that Ford got it right with the F series. I own a 1987 F 150 XLT Lariat 4×4 with a factory ordered 351 Cleveland H O 4bbl C 6 tranny still using the mechanical fuel pump and the 8 ft bed. This truck has 228,000 miles on it works hard almost every day, we live off grid in the high desert of Eastern Arizona 7500 feet above sea level only have dirt roads and they are shady at best and the only things that have been replaced are the water pump carburetor and brakes + tires. We call the truck Dixie and I wouldn't trade it for anything. Its got dents from being rammed by cattle and undercoating made of mud but it is the hardest working most dependable truck out here. Snow last winter was door deep and this truck sits high up I locked the hubs put her in 4 low and stood on that Cleveland out we came. The 21 mile ride to town was made because my neighbors were stuck and couldn't get out. Lol. Yup I will keep Dixie until one of us dies, whichever comes first.
Don't know if anyone remembers Brylcreem hair gel back in the '60's, but they had a contest and the top prize was a Mustang. One of my high school buddies won the car.....instantly popular with the hottest chicks in school.....every once in a while when I see an old Mustang I wonder what ever happened to him and the car....when I met my wife, she had two '65 Mustangs, one not so nice and one with a Edelbrock intake setup, bad twist of fate though, the night she decided to move in with me, we came back from dinner and the car was up on the sidewalk.....a drunk chick in a VW convertible plowed in to the rear essentially totaling it......the VW though smashed front drove home....I ended up selling it off for parts......her mom had a '64 Mustang with a 6 cylinder and stick shift.....it sat in their driveway until she passed in '19.....grand kid got it....
The first truck the ‘71 Ranger XLT had electronic powered mirrors!! I’ve never seen one with those mirrors must be the only one with those mirrors! Gorgeous gorgeous ❤❤
Reminds me of my '72 F-100 Explorer pick-up l got from my dad when I was 16, it was perfect, wide tires, chrome reverse wheels, beautiful condition, the coolest pick- up at my high school... they say wisdom comes with age, that is so true, I sold it way too soon, to get a friggin Chevy Nova, got laid way more in the front seat of that truck than the back seat of that Nova......
Notice that the blocks are staggered. If they had been in alignment, but out of phase with the wheel base, the ride in this truck would have been similar to that of a bucking horse.
I like those 67-72 Ford Trucks, my Grand Pa had one. It bugs me though, Ford put most of their eggs on the Twin I Beam suspension to sell the truck in these commercials.
If Ford re-made these trucks with the option for people to sign a waiver saying “yeah I know it’s not as safe as a modern car - I still want it” they’d make a killing. Especially if they were at 1970’s prices haha.
At 15 yrs old my friends dad had a ford with manual transmission. I loved to drive it because it had an incredible Granny gear. It felt like that truck could pull a mountain. When trucks were truck really build by Americans. Now they are crap

Back when trucks were trucks and not space ships!
Back in my day the bank was opened 1 hour a week. You stood in line and you liked it. And I Hershey bar was a nickel. A nickel!
I’m a time traveler from the future you have no idea how right you are
Any ol ford commercial will put a smile on my face any time😁🔥💯♥️♥️

What an awesome ride to inherit.
Grandpa is smiling down on you.
My first truck was a 1971 F100 heavy duty with a 302 V8 3 spd on column, That was a tough truck.
Then 6 years later, Ford F-series became the best selling fullsize pickups & have been ever since.

Haha that’s great! I just bought a 302 custom for $2000. It’ll be my first ever car
I've had my F series over 20 years, it ain't goin nowhere.
I’ve had mine for 51 years.
Can't get it going, huh?
@@forreal-n1mAre you for real? 😅
Ain't going nowhere in a Ford 😂
Everything was beautiful at the time, the people, the nature, the cars I don’t know why is it because of our bad times

@Amplass 333 Im 25 and my dad is 75 and he has some great storys, I am so old orientated i wish we could go back, I cant relate to my generation!
@Amplass 333 < Liberalism and the attempt to turn American into a socialist nation.
1960s is the birth of what this country is now.

Chevies don't make trucks 😉
When trucks were still reasonably priced. Dad had a nice ‘70 with a 302 4 speed.
Back when even "Luxury" equipped trucks were pretty spartan. I miss those days.
A Ranger XLT was actually pretty snazzy.

Randall Bates < The 351 Cleveland ended production in about 1974. Your 87 F150 did NOT have a 351 Cleveland.

i love these trucks

Ranchero for the win. 👍🇬🇧
great quality, very clear, great commercials !!! spotted mr. myagi from karate kid in one commercial.
The John Wayne fake was a nice touch, Lol it would’ve cost too much to get the real one back then I’m sure
Love it. Like to find one like this.
A man gotta have his truck. Not a EV or Crossover...

There’s something girls like about a pickup man…
Anyone notice how the doors where flapping like wings over all those bumps? Lol
That was the aft section of the frame twisting due to the solid rear axle. The cab was relatively smooth while the bed was rocking dramatically.
Notice that the blocks are staggered. If they had been in alignment, but out of phase with the wheel base, the ride in this truck would have been similar to that of a bucking horse.
That "lighting rod" demonstration should have been done at night.
I loved my 1971 ford pickup mine had 50000 miles on it and never broke down at all
Damn good trucks.
Real. Steel.
I would love to borrow doc brown's dolorian time machine.
And go back to that time and Purchase One of those fine pickups.
I like those 67-72 Ford Trucks, my Grand Pa had one. It bugs me though, Ford put most of their eggs on the Twin I Beam suspension to sell the truck in these commercials.
That truck still looks modern today, and much more class than the clown laden styled trucks of today.
Remember? No computers! Electronics 😂
Don’t see hardly any Chevys or Dodge from this era. There are millions of 70s Fords still rolling.
If Ford re-made these trucks with the option for people to sign a waiver saying “yeah I know it’s not as safe as a modern car - I still want it” they’d make a killing. Especially if they were at 1970’s prices haha.
First they have to have the ability to make trucks this good. They lost it year ago.
I have a ‘71 F-350 Canadian made chassis cab truck…
That's a bronco pickup on that trophy
Was that Mr Myakgi!!??
Comerciales de poca madres muy buenos
Who is the actor imitating John Wayne?
Mejoro mucho la estetica, pero sobre todo me gusto el nuevo volante que le pusieron
Alright 😂
At 15 yrs old my friends dad had a ford with manual transmission. I loved to drive it because it had an incredible Granny gear. It felt like that truck could pull a mountain. When trucks were truck really build by Americans. Now they are crap
Somewhere along the way We lost our sence of humour.😅
LOOK AT ALL THE AMERICA THESE COMMERCIALS REEKING!!!
WHEN AMERICA WAS AMERICA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They don’t ride that well now!! They want them to handle like race cars and sacrifice comfort!!!
cant believe trhe Drab dull interior back then, even the paint was plain as can be.
Most didn’t have air conditioning either. Trucks were meant to be trucks not like today’s plastic ones.
Chevy and GMC trucks anyday!
You better go find some inferior truck channel to watch hun cuz' this is FORD Country 👍🏼😉🇺🇸
At 7:25 what was up with the gay John Wayne at the end? That was weird. The Duke was a lot of things but gay wasn't one of them.
