Dodge is garbage always have been always Will be.100 years in and they still can't build a transmission or wire one correctly.we had a SRT with 7 miles on it come through, they said it's totaled,I said what are you talking about,it looks brand new, then I opened the door and it was gutted, the sunroof caught on fire in the showroom and almost burned the whole dealership down.
Chevy was really high off their own hype.
Yup 😂 no way in hell can a lil chevy v6 beat even that 302 with a staggering 150 hp
That’s a bad thing?
@@nathan7627 well they were smoking dick thinking a v6 could beat a v8
They probably thought the 6.5 diesel was better than the 7.3 Powerstroke.
@Berkeley Donohue
Never said it was, I suppose I was supposed to call it by it's real name, the International T444E
Loved the old "heartbeat" era Chevy trucks. 👍
Dave was drunk, he took his wife's truck. Dave's wife survived and is doing well in her new Chevrolet.
Thats what happens when you are such a Dave
So, now that those five guys have met up, what will they do now, that they're out of gas?
@@MyRegardsToTheDodo Even more funny is reading that comment and realizing the context of their/mankind's future: Just as you said: Five GUYS.
Didn't go old school enough. I'd give my new pick-up for a late 40s early 50s Dodge Power Wagon.
Exfuckingactly
I live in a country where competitive advertising is illegal. Love the way the pull each other apart.
Pick-up truck. Inline 6-cylinder, one-barrel carburetor, three-speed "on the tree", no power steering, no power brakes, no A/C, and No radio.
In one commercial Chevy bashed fords 6 cylinder, and in the next bragged about their own, interesting marketing decision 😂
Now you're catching on to Chevrolet/GM's product "cycle."
Step 1: Make fun of competitor feature or product, to the point you doctor or alter videos to support your claim.
Step 2: Wait a year or two, typically 2-4 years.
Step 3: Build your own product with the EXACT same feature or product.
Step 4: Create commercials where you pretend your feature or product is BRAND NEW and NOBODY HAD EVER HAD OR CREATED THIS BEFORE, with bonus points if you give it a Marketing 101 name (like "Multi-Pro Tailgate"!.
Step 5: Remove as many of the prior commercials from your advertising history as practical to support Step 4. (not always possible in the age of video platforms).
I have a 1986 f150 4.9 still running strong and i'm in massachusetts and was always in massachusetts.
IF you could buy a compact pickup these days, you couldn't do it for less than $17,000 unless it's used.
And while the price goes up, the quality goes down. This is true with Ford, Chevy, and Dodge.
Awesome seeing those vintage commercials.
I remember sitting in front of my grandmas ancient antenna tv and seeing some of the newer ones when I was little.
Lol... i still think chevy had the corniest commercials.. (i own all three so no badgering)
Which one's your favorite?
@@pixelbucket8884 the funniest had to be the truck pulling the 747..
Badger badger
Hahaha... yep, that one too
Pretty sure he's asking which is your favorite truck, not commercial 😂
I remember when I was a little kid in the early 80's, people would say that the future will be Great...
Well, here we are many year's into the future n still lookin like Sh*t everyday that passes.. Damn, I miss my childhood back in the 80's !!
And thank you Mr. Seger n Chevy for the sound's n nostalgia. 👍🏻😎
Chevy and Dodge: *doing demonstrations*
Ford: we sell more so we must be the best
They didn’t need a bailout did they?
Ford had Jaguar and several others they sold off. Take off government and rental agencies and Ford wouldn't be the best sellers
@@Superstallion1993 No, they did NOT... for all the RIGHT reasons!
@@TheSleepingonit Uh, most manufacturers have a large portfolio of brands. It is a FACT that Ford didn't NEED to take the bailout because, UNLIKE those manufacturers that did, Ford built cars of better quality and were successful at continuing to sell them. And, unlike GM, they didn't even have to denigrate their competitors. After decades in the industry, I can describe it most easily with this statement we used to communicate the difference in engineering: Most other manufacturers want to sell you your NEXT car. Ford wants to sell you your next FIVE cars.
i have a 92 chevy k2500 and it is the infamous two tone red and white and they had to recall this paint style because of how much the paint chipped off and mine is chipped everywhere on the paint
No no, these commercial are “real people, not actors”
$8,000?!? EIGHT THOUSAND DOLLARS??!!?! sign me up! I still see those things kickin' around now over 30 years later!
Loved the “That got a hemi?” commercials.
Me too! Especially since so did my Fords and several other brands... just like in the 60's again.
6.9% financing? Extortion! Keep THAT vehicle for THAT rate!
“Turbo hydro matic transmission”😂😂
😂😂😂😂
Ikr
It because of the turbine in the torque converter that they had the name in it along with it load capacity
That's what's tied to my 1970 Buick GS455...400TH (Turbo Hydro-matic).
Better than a c-4 or c-6 . C stands for crap -
Having just bought a late model 98 Ram 1500,l laughed my ass off when the Ford was towing a Ram with a Chev in the bed..Great video...thank you
Would have been cool to see the Little Red Expess commercial....but good job
Did that little sh*tbox had a 383 under the hood ? I remember the dual stack though.
@@rverro8478 it was actually the fastest production American car or truck that year. It beat the Corvette, mustang and Camaro in the quarter mile .

After reading some comments, how many AREN'T here from Mrs whistlindeisel & have no clue who she even is? ME!!
I'm not what even is that
I’m lost.
Her husband is a idiot that likes to hop up diesel trucks and then ruin them doing stupid shit. Now you are all caught up. I have no clue her name or comment as I am also here for the trucks.
Who is whistling diesel?
@@Superstallion1993 As I stated already he is a idiot with a YT channel that likes to tear up diesel trucks. Evidently some people like him not sure why. Look him up if you want to know. This thing called Google is amazing it will answer all kinds of questions.
I’ve had all three types of trucks and I’m glad to say that the trucks are way better than the commercials. Those were pretty awful, but I love it.
I’d sure like to have a new 1992 ranger . The one in my driveway has a bed case of salt mites . But it’s still running.
These commercials were cool, look we can tow a jet, look we can climb a mountain, look our truck can tow faster than yours, they showed men WORKING. Today its look our moon roof is bigger, look we have led lights, look we have a built in tampon dispenser.
❤️❤️😘🙏🏼💕means a lot to me seeing this man thank you , the first one ☝🏼 wow that late 80’s early 90’s transition are my all time favourite era it’s my generation and it’s so awesomest to revisit that era the fashion the vehicles the culture that was a very beautiful times , all the best thank you from Australia 🇦🇺
No problem man!
Being an old fart, I really don't remember seeing nearly any of these commercials! Hmm. Well, after the trucks pulled an airplane, mining equipment, trees, all I can say is that the trucks still have usable body parts! LOL. 😄
Dave drove a ford 😂
S10, like a rock, lol, needs ball joints every 20K.
Dave did not make it bc he drove a ford lol wtf
Driving a 1996 Ford F-150, handles like a dream, pulls like a horse.
12:50 I'm Chevy all the way, but damn, that was funny!
I was born in ‘98 so most of these commercials are before my time. But these commercials are just more inviting and have more character than the ones today
Me with a 1959 Ford with a 292 v8 and able to haul more than a chevy today
I have a '60 with a 292 Y-block, one of the best running trucks I've ever owned.
I highly doubt it would even come close to out pulling my 08 LMM deleted and EFI Live tuned Duramax diesel. She'll also do 0-60 in the 4 second range. Pulls 60 to 120 faster than most trucks going from 0 to 60. Gets 22mpg daily driving. It's my 5th truck and the best one I've ever had. Hasn't lost to a SuperDuty or Cummins yet and hasn't lost to a gas burner either.
You cant haul more than a chevy today. You might really like your truck, but a 292 isnt hauling the same as a new truck today. Not even anywhere close.
@@CamAteUrKFC it all depends on the driver and the hearing and weight the vehicle has
One you are seriously deletional to think it can out pull a new truck. And two there is no way in hell those old drum brakes and single non power master cylinder was ever safe in 59 but for damn sure are not today. People take old cars and trucks and put modern suspension and drive trains in them because they love the looks but hate the performance.
Ha! Bought a '90 Dodge W150 with the $2000 rebate mentioned in the last commercial! Colorado Red, 4x4, V-8, A/T, locking rear diff, A/C, cloth seat and a hood ornament - $12,800 otd.
IN all of the Chevy and most ford commercials they are compairing Chevy to ford but Dodge is never mentioned also the best dodge commercial is when they introduced the hemi in a truck
Love the half hour advertisement on the 1994 series of trucks which one of them was used in the movie Twister.
When you’ve got the best 2 trucks made, you don’t think about what’s below you.
@@jackwatters9502 nah, they just didn't want the smoke. Mopar has always been wild and willing to build some crazy shit. Like they stuck the V10 out of a viper into a little pickup because "why not" lol. Or the fact that while everyone else was throwing 4 bangers and V6s into compact/midsizes, they decided to say fuck it and put a V8 in the Dakota. Even to this day they say "why not?" And build some enthusiast's wet dream like a 1000 ho crate engine or a 700 hp offroad truck like the TRX that'll be coming out soon.
Historically, Dodge was never mentioned because (sales wise, for this discussion) they were never in contention for first or second place in those sales categories. In those commercials' era, Dodge didn't waste their advertising budget picking on the other two brands; they simply created commercials demonstrating their product and why it would meet your needs. Although I'm not a Dodge proponent, this is absolutely respectable.
My husband has had lie 5 S-10's and they all was great. He ran 1 in the creek. Jammed 1 in reverse and had to drive off a KY strip job to home in reverse. ..lol...he sold the others, and hit a tree with the blazer S-10, it was bad...lol...
10:40 that’s the best commercial I’ve seen
🤣
That's how my dad keeps his truck. Bed is beat up from work, inside get detailed regularly.
I like the Chevy commercial pulling the 747 but I bet the Dodge hemi would give it a good run for its money
This is merely typical Chevrolet adverting sleight-of-hand? It's meant to look impressive until you realize how small and low-powered the tugs are that move the planes around the airport. Then you'll understand how pathetic the commercial truly is.
