Love, love, LOVE the back of that thing. However, $1,4000 starting price for an OLED that is, in may respects, inferior to its cheaper QD-OLED cousins, is just too much. The dual mode 480hz mode is going to be an extremely small niche, I'm afraid. Most competitive gamers that want or need that kind of refresh rate are not going to be buying a 32 inch OLED in the first place, they'll opt for a 360hz 27 inch. I don't want to nitpick them here because I still enjoy LG OLEDs (my TV is one) and I want to see them succeed but if they continue to show up months after their competition and at a higher price point without blowout features that scream "Buy me!" they're going to have a problem.
the whole reason of those 24" and 27" modes is to fill that need for competitive gamers who prefer smaller sizes. 480hz oled response time is the best thing possible atm, only thing that could be on par is the 540hz TN with strobing, but it has so many tradeoffs that I think many people who have the bucks to spend and are heavy into competitive shooter will highly consider an option like this. especially with the huge benefit of using a 32" 4K panel for anything else outside of the game.

For those who are interested in maximizing immersion, this is unfortunately too small for a High FoV Gaming setup. At an 18" view distance the horizontal Display FoV is only ~75°. A view distance of less than 10.5" would be necessary in order to get the same 106° horizontal Display FoV of a 55" 16:9 screen at an 18" view distance, or a 65" at a ~21.5" view distance.

Great review! I enjoy both competitive and single player games so this monitor is very intriguing to me. Definitely would use the 480 Hz mode for OW and Valorant. My one question though is glossy versus matte; is it really that big of a difference or are people over exaggerating?
I watch a couple of reviews of this monitor already and in every one of them it looked so grainy, while I seen QD-OLED reviews and they look so clear and transparent. Even in compressed RUclips videos you can tell the difference which really shows how bad the coating is.
it will look just as good as any other regular monitor that is not glossy, so basically like over 95% of the overall monitor market. you probably use a matte monitor at the moment or did in the past, doubt you ever complained about it being "grainy".
I preordered the monitor from the LG website in the Netherlands. It will be shipped after May 9th, but as a fresh LG member + preorder deal I got a nice 10% discount on the price. Normally it's being sold for €1399 here but in the end I got it for €1260 which I think is a solid deal. Looking forward using this to replace my current 60hz 32" 4k LG monitor. For productivity it's also interesting to mention the benefit of the high refresh rate in UX/UI design and software development. I do a lot of animation and motion graphics work and now creating animations for 120hz+ and able to preview these is really creating for the future. Also when writing code (and using a well IDE/editor optimised for performance like Lapce) it's really nice that when scrolling you can keep reading the text, without that typical smearing you get on 60hz. Same with moving windows around, they all stay crispy and it really feels like they physically stick to your mouse movement. All in all, what a time to be alive to have access to a monitor with these kind of specifications for a reasonable price! Can't wait!!!
Great Video - Gaming OLED! Great things IMO: 1) 4K 2) HDR10 3) OLED not QLED 4) HDMI 2.1 5) FreeSync PremiumPro 6) MLA+ 7) VRR 8) G-SYNC 9) 120 Hz 10) Vesa 100 mount Few things that are missing IMO: 1) Want Display Port 2.1 full UHBR20 not 1.4 2) Wish it had the KVM switch most monitors have built in this year. 3) Prefer the new WRGB config instead of WOLED 4) Choice of glossy over anti-glare matte screen. 5) Dolby Vision would be nice 6) Longer warranty for screen burn as most offer at least 3yrs and better for dead pixel count which should be 0 IMO. 7) USB C 8) Remote Unsure: Do I prefer all this in 27" instead of 32"
Completely unrelated question: In all seriousness, hiw do you manage such cleanliness in that room? Everything looks well spaced out, minimalistic, and just so overall presentable
I had a Samsung G8 Neo Odyssey last year (also 4K 240Hz) which also has a very matte display.. I have to say I didn't hate it at all, I think I'd actually prefer matte over a display that mirrors you all the time lol... Bonus on this LG screen is that the black levels stay good even with a well-lit room, unlike QD-OLED...
Why don't they make it glossy? Why do they insist on matte? Why do they reduce the contrast, sharpness and depth of colors? This monitor is aimed at players who play in home rooms whose lighting they control easily. It is not a working environment. When will my dream of a Glossy monitor come true?
32-in flat panel was never a common size for a living room TV. That was the common size that people were putting in their bedrooms when TVs used to cost a whole lot more.
Which is better? This one, or that new ASUS 32" you reviewed a while ago? I much prefer this stand compared to the ASUS one, as it is less gamery. I'm curious about which panel is better.
Anyone else think the 480hz option is useless ? When you have a 4K monitor I’m not sure I’d ever want to drop down to 1080P even for the higher refresh rate. 240hz at 4K works really well.
1400$ PLUS VAT ON TOP, I would build a gaming PC for 1000$ and buy a PS5 in addition, and get some OK-ish 27" Monitor Used... I get it 4K 240Hz OLED is next level but the Price is crazy.
I think something additional needs to be addressed that not many reviewers mention for these expensive high end displays in general: guaranteed zero dead pixel policies. From what I heard in some display enthusiast forums, there's been reports of LG's warranty policy only accounting for certain manufacturing defects and burn-in protection, but NOT stuck/dead pixels, and that a few stuck/dead pixels would be within their specs. Can you please confirm if this is the case or not? Because at this point, any amount of non-zero defective pixels should be unacceptable for all display manufacturers. We're already paying a hefty price tag on these displays, I think we all deserve better.
i cannot decide between 32" or wider 34" monitor. I like them both. But i would prefer 4k image resolution. Anyone else having problems to decide? And how did you overcome this dilema?
Im liking the alienware 32 inch curved. I wasnt a fan of curved monitors but it was the the only available at the time and im really enjoying it. After firmware update its running great. The curve is really minimal and doesn't mess with me watching anime subtitles. Helps seeing people in games easier. The usb c not being able to charge my laptop doesn't bother me because I wouldn't want to use it for that anyway I feel like that would lessen the life of my monitor pushing more power through it. The Dolby vision works nice now after the firmware update. I usually do go with LG but this one being a little bit more and not really having anything besides 480 HZ with 1080p that I'm not using anyway I'm running games either 1440 or 4k. I didn't spend all that money on my pc for 1080 gameplay. This LG monitor does look good don't get me wrong I just don't feel like it's worth the extra money.
This has everything we have ever asked for in a monitor. I'd love to see them release it in a 27inch with the 4k 240 instead of the 1440p but it's still an awesome monitor
This is clearly for people with a big budget. I mean you need a +1k graphic cards to get decent frames in 4k with modern triple a titles. In a couple of years once the technology is more affordable , I might realistically look into it.
We need long time testing to know. It just dropped in the market so ask again in a couple of years. But this will be old by then and the question arises for the next hot thing.
Great review. I like my big TV's to be matt because I cannot move a little to avoid a glare. For a monitor, it's much easier to avoid a glare, so I like it matt. Sadly mostly it's the other way around.
Great review. I’m still using my 48 C1 as a gaming monitor. I’m glad LG went with a 32” monitor but the lack of USB-C isn’t great. Plus the price is a bit much.
Very disappointing to not talk about whether the 1080p mode actually looks any good. If this is meant to be a "major" feature, then how does it look compared to an native 1080p monitor?
Great review man! Just a couple of questions for ya: A) Does the matte finish hurt image quality at all in a dark room, or cause any graininess compared to QD-OLED? and B) With the pixel cleaning feature, does this run when the monitor is in sleep mode and does it require you to physically turn the monitor on via the power button after it has run? Or does it just wake up with mouse movement and continue to do it's thing. Thanks in advance!

with a price tag of 1400 dollars, almost no one can afford that.
Facts more than half of the population making 20k - 35k a year and that’s not factoring in bills and children yet.
Yet most people run arround with a samsung or iphone of 1000-1500€/$
@@johanmelis12 them shits don’t be paid in full doh-doh 😭😭😭 $30 a month on top of your $100 phone bill
@@Boostavo in Europe thats less of an option
Most of the time you dont get such plans with “new” new phones
But if you wait half a year then yes its also like that
Save money duhhhh
Good review. Thank you. I can't wait to look this up myself.
Your voice is so calming
Haha thank you
Nice Gaming OLED - Imagine it being a QD-OLED with same features
Has 4K 240HZ monitor with 480hz 1080p mode
Proceeds to play on console caped at 120hz
The matte coating, aesthetic branding less design and dual mode feature is definitely what sold me
i was looking everywhere for this revew!
They gave the only model to this guy. (They made only 1)
no just a 32 inch@@Keji839
cus no one uses ps5 with that
Great Video - Gaming OLED!
Great things IMO:
1) 4K
2) HDR10
3) OLED not QLED
4) HDMI 2.1
5) FreeSync PremiumPro
6) MLA+
7) VRR
8) G-SYNC
9) 120 Hz
10) Vesa 100 mount
Few things that are missing IMO:
1) Want Display Port 2.1 full UHBR20 not 1.4
2) Wish it had the KVM switch most monitors have built in this year.
3) Prefer the new WRGB config instead of WOLED
4) Choice of glossy over anti-glare matte screen.
5) Dolby Vision would be nice
6) Longer warranty for screen burn as most offer at least 3yrs and better for dead pixel count which should be 0 IMO.
7) USB C
8) Remote
Unsure:
Do I prefer all this in 27" instead of 32"
What a beast
I have to say that is one nice gaming oled. I can't wait to pick one up.
Get a pc my guy
It's coming...
For hackers and terrible pc ports take years to fix 😭
How about u stop telling others what to play on
You probably play on a 1080
@@Jactional who me or him?
Completely unrelated question: In all seriousness, hiw do you manage such cleanliness in that room? Everything looks well spaced out, minimalistic, and just so overall presentable
Ah thank you. I just try to keep the clutter minimal 😅
type c is must in monitors in 2024
I had a Samsung G8 Neo Odyssey last year (also 4K 240Hz) which also has a very matte display..
Fr it cost just as much if not more then a Pc and even if I had the money that’s way to much just to play video games
Can you still use a remote with the monitor even though it doesn’t come with it?
Next time I'd love to see what the monitor looks like in CS2, Valorant, Fortnite.. The typical FPS games. Otherwise great video.
Hey, Great Review. Your videos are very detailed, calm and nice vibe into it. Keep it up 👍🏼
you can get dell AW32 for much cheaper in EU and can get 6 years warranty for lower price than for msi or this LG monitor alone
i cannot decide between 32" or wider 34" monitor. I like them both. But i would prefer 4k image resolution. Anyone else having problems to decide? And how did you overcome this dilema?
NICE GAMING OLED. New daily over the Asus?
It is now yes, will do a comparison of the two
Im liking the alienware 32 inch curved.
Curved is a must for gaming
@JR-jp7mi not really, it ruins any other things like work on a pc. And it omly really looks good in racing games
This has everything we have ever asked for in a monitor. I'd love to see them release it in a 27inch with the 4k 240 instead of the 1440p but it's still an awesome monitor
Not really no glossy screen

Any idea on the cost for this in the uk.. great vid as always mate 😎👍
What is your screensaver?! It's so good!
This is clearly for people with a big budget. I mean you need a +1k graphic cards to get decent frames in 4k with modern triple a titles. In a couple of years once the technology is more affordable , I might realistically look into it.
How long will it last if I use it as a productivity monitor 8 hours a day
We need long time testing to know.
Thanks for watching

Isn’t no burn in issue? That’s my greatest fair when it comes to this whole OLED productions
Can you review the Samsung g8 Oled 32in🙏
Which one did you like more in terms of 4k image quality, the PG32UCDM or this one?!
Great review. I’m still using my 48 C1 as a gaming monitor. I’m glad LG went with a 32” monitor but the lack of USB-C isn’t great. Plus the price is a bit much.
COME HERE
2024 is the year of peak monitor technology. 4K at 240 Hz or 1080p at 360 Hz are almost the default specs now.
What about OLED burn in warranty?
Very disappointing to not talk about whether the 1080p mode actually looks any good. If this is meant to be a "major" feature, then how does it look compared to an native 1080p monitor?
Dose it have ALLM for playstation 5?
Great review man! Just a couple of questions for ya: A) Does the matte finish hurt image quality at all in a dark room, or cause any graininess compared to QD-OLED? and B) With the pixel cleaning feature, does this run when the monitor is in sleep mode and does it require you to physically turn the monitor on via the power button after it has run? Or does it just wake up with mouse movement and continue to do it's thing. Thanks in advance!
Without Burn-In warranty, this is a huge L.
If LG doesn’t trust their product, something is wrong and they know it.
Anyone concerned about the matte finish its not a issue I switched to this from a 42 inch lg c3 . Black levels and picture quality is perfect
Plz compare it with asus rog since lg is woled and asus is qd oled it would be interesting watching how both are different from each other
I think I’ll have to do a comparison next
Do you prefer this monitor over the rog monitor you just reviewed for the ps5
Great Review…Thank you! Question…can you hear any fan noise? I bought the 27GR95qe last year. The fan noise is terrible.
So far (20 hours of use) I’ve not heard a fan at all.
Good review and good monitor, but I'll look for a glossy alternative.
None of the latest oled monitors such as from MSI and ASUS use a glossy screen, they use the same LG panel.
I've mostly used Apple computers/laptops with bright and high DPI monitors. Most of the MacBook monitors are in the 450 to 550 nit range in SDR. Aren't you finding the 260 nit full screen brightness to dim for productivity work and web browsing?
Only thing you need bro is better headphones and speakers. Good sound is more immersive than good display when i experienced it.
Yes of course. I'm using the Astro A50 X so headphones are used 99% of the time.
Missing a few boxes it doesn't quite check for me. Glossy vs Matte, USB-C input, audio passthrough, either via EARC or SPDIF.
Can u please review the RAZER BlackShark V2 Pro 2023?
Nice Gaming OLED
If you use it for productivity you will definitely develop burn-in. So keep us posted on that.
