2022 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing - AKG 14-speaker Sound System Review

Cadillac is ditching Bose for its top-tier cars, and in the Escalade, we were blown away. In this, not quite so much. The audio quality is better balanced that previous Bose systems, but it's missing a wow factor.

The subwoofer not being strong enough seems to occur in several cars. Have the 12 speaker Sony system in my Fusion and the subwoofer is too weak in my opinion. At lower volume its very lacking in low end sound. But it sounds pretty good at higher volume and it will shake the interior mirror if i turn it up on the right track/song. But as an audio and musicnerd I want more.

The AKG on the CT4-V Blackwing has 15 speakers. Each Blackwing gets one extra speaker over the Bose systems on the non-Blackwings

I just bought a 2023 CT4 Blackwing, 6 speed, thinking that the audio was superior to my former ATS-V. I am greatly disappointed to learn that an ATS-V Bose, with upgraded rear door speakers and vibration dampening on the rear deck sounds better to me. The ATS-V woofer shakes the rear view mirror. Not so on the BW. The culprit in the CT4 BW is that in the "normal" mode, the rear speakers (not the SW) have no sound below about 300 hertz, but in the "rear" mode, the rear speakers shake the doors. What was AKG thinking, to eliminate any bass from the rear speakers in the "normal" mode? If head unit would allow low frequencies to the rear speakers in "normal" mode, the audio system would be much better. Meanwhile, the mechanical side of this car, and the fantastic seats make it a pleasure!!

gm never has had all that impressive sound systems i’ve been in a 2019 and 2020 corvette and they both had bose and i just wasn’t impressed
