Thank you for sharing the video. I tested batocera on RG35xx Plus and it was very amazing. I also tested HDMI. The TV display ratio is perfect and matches the Overlay.
For some reason I had issues with that new update and it didn't work for me. I must have done something wrong. So I did the one on this video. Is there a way to update via Wi-Fi or do I have to do it with my PC and moving my micro SD card back and forth? TIA.

This fw looks so nice, gonna give it a try, thanks for the detailed description. And now it is actually out of alpha and brought to beta status. One thing (move of a curiosity than anything else...) In all these guides it is indicated to format the firmware SD card (either fw only or if planned to be a fw + storage card) before flashing, which I think is a useless passage...since when you flash the image from the pc you're basically recreating a bit by bit "disc" cooy including new partitions and partition table. This is different for the secondary card, though, that needs to be recognized by the device hence needs to be correct file system and partition before being managed by the console. Just a minor thing, though, formatting a card is very quick in any case. Cheers!

Flashed a new SD with the latest version of Batocera and I'm blown away with how much this has improved the overall experience. I haven't tried systems past GBA yet, but the ability to download themes, use RetroAchievements, download overlays/bezels, OTA updates, box art scraping etc. is incredible. So happy with my RG35XX Plus, well worth upgrading from the original RG35XX.
Nice review. I see you have an xbox controller in the background. Does it work? How is hdmi working? Those two are the only things that keep me using stock OS

Great. I installed it and everything was working great for like 2 days. Now suddenly my device is buzzing and games I could play before are like 1fps basically. Sound is all choppy. Don't know what happened but my device is not usable now. Any suggestions? Suppose I will try install again....But I changed nothing so dunno.

Just received my Rg35XX plus and unfortunately after putting the image of Batocera on my SD card, when I insert the card into my device for the first time to do initial bootup, it just wont turn on. I hold the power button for over 20 seconds. I tried hitting reset then power as well but nothing. The device will not turn on. I know the device is working because the stock SD card boots up no problem. I tried re-formating the card and re-doing it but same issue persists. The only difference is I am downloading the 20240213 release on Github as of this writing and using your same programs you recommend in this video. The SD card is a Sandisk 132GB Ultra. Help, anybody.
I seem to have a problem with bios files. No matter what kind of files i download, the system always warns me of missing bios files (trying to play GBA, NDS, PS1 and Dreamcast). Is it something i need to configure? Also, can we power the system off by long press power button? It is quite cumbersome to exit to the main menu and to turn the console off through settings menu.
Question from someone who's new to all this (just got a r36s to learn with). With the new OS on the 35XXH what would you recommend in a battle against the RGB30, X55, and 35XXH?
Really depends on what's most important to you. Large screen? Pocketability? Joysticks? Good software out of the box? Do you like vertical or horizontal devices? How much do you want to spend?
Hey, I just followed your video and was able to install Batocera successfully. However im gonna be using a second 256gb SD card for all my games and i didnt get a clear idea from the video on how to set it up. I know i need to format it to Fat32 but then what? If I insert the card in slot 2 after formatting does the system load the correct folders? Do i need to add them myself first? Any advise would be great or if you have a link to a tutorial, also great. Awesome and Informative video and thanks if you're able to help.
Installed latest update and everything seems to work pretty well expect for the HDMI output that has issues with audio. At least on my tests. Video is good but the sound is randomly working. Sometimes it’s there and sometimes not. Apart from that, great system.

Not sure how to ask this question... With the stock I could hold rhe menu and press right trigger to fast forward but with this i hold menu and right on the D pad to ff but it only stays in ff mode while i am holding it. Any advice? Am i doing something wrong?

wow... i just googled really hard and found out that SHARE wasnt given a drive letter, therefore couldnt be read by my file manager!! win + x, disk management, rightclick SHARE and give it a drive letter.

The d pad controls do not work in games on the Nintendo 64. As I was told, this is a problem with the firmware itself. Everything works on the stock firmware. But overall, Batocera looks prettier and more comfortable.
Yo, I just folloewd this tutorial to a T, and i was wondering how you open the retroarch menu in the games, or how you access retroarch, did it get removed after downloading batocera?
Cant wait till they launch stable, even at beta I cant go back to stock OS, just looks tertible, and most games I like play smooth, like all neo geo, cps1 to 3, even naomi works same as stock so I havent touched stock other than to grab some roms and bios
But what about Dreamcast? Is it comparable in performance if you change some settings like frameskip? Also i'd like to know if Sega Saturn is working ?
@@kici5777 havent tested sega saturn, dreamcast naomi atomis works the same as on stock, you just need to set the right core they got a normal flycast and then there is kind of a boosted flycast core version, at first was dissapointed that games run slow compared to stock but onece changing the core they run the same.
@@kici5777 sorry haven't tested it, currently only using the system for 4:3 aspect ratio games and systems, only exception Gameboy advance wich works great on batocera.

no need to format the card before flashing, it will wipe partition you made and replace with partitions from the image

Do save states work, and how is the experience switching between them? And what about sleep function, does battery drain during sleep?

Hope this will get better and better, but as of now the best performing OS is stock, not very pretty but does the job.

I'm getting the same issue. I've put them under /userdata/bios and under /userdata/roms/bios, but I'm still getting the error when I launch a game :-/

Hold function key and volume up and down to adjust brightness
Yeah the N64 emulation doesn't have an accessible menu while in game and as far as I know you're not able to save/load state.

i did it with 64gb, u can do it no problems! 16gb is minimun for optimizal space so u don't waste more but I had just 64 and did it with that!
I'm going for this as my main os for now. Connecting and mapping buttons on my controller has been a breeze on this cfw compared to the stock os.
Have you done it for each game system? If so how? I could only find the option in the main menu to navigate the menu.
Is there a way to restore the old way to fast forward, slow down, save state and load state to the menu and the triggers?

Make sure mame roms are in mame folder, not arcade. Cps roms go in fbneo folder

I was able to map a "pro" style bluetooth controller to it. I can navigate menus but I have not found how to use them in games.

What if the share folder is not popping up, but the boot folder is?
