Athearn QGRY 2500 GP35E 2016 11 06 002

This video was made to show the customer of the loco what has been done and how the various functions worked. It showcases the ditchlights working and sound installed on the loco.
This video is in French, because the customer is French. Basically, I go over the loco's feature and operations and I'm also pointing out one flaw, the short hood, conductor side ditchlight stays lighted even when they are not supposed to be on. It's difficult to see during the day, but in the dark, it's more noticeable. Unfortunately, I don't remember how, or if, I fixed it.
This model started life as an Athearn GP35 CSX in the blue and gray scheme. I installed a sound decoder in it but was never satisfied with it. I finally decided to strip the body, repaint it to Québec-Gatineau scheme for QGRY 2500 GP35E.
I have added the missing details, changed the lights to LEDs (one bulb light was burned), added working ditchlights, etc. I also upgraded the decoder to a 6-functions Econami decoder.
The weathering was done using various products, pigments, artist oil paint, etc. Decals are from Highball Graphics and were a joy to work with. The speaker came from ebay (see list of links below), cut to fit inside the shell and I used magnet wires, because they are so thin and flexible, they are easy to work with.
