It's crazy how navigraph has virtually 0 competing companies and is still consumer friendly.
@@garlic7976 They are indeed good eggs.
and expensive
Consumer friendly? There's no way you are saying this when they are charging 100USD on a yearly subscription to just fly fake planes on a computer.
Life has gone expensive and the price they are asking is absolutlely ridiculous for what they are providing.
The FS comunity despertly needs a competitor for NavData & Charts sevices. I really hope these new option turns up good enough so people has a chance to leave the navigraph ecosystem that has been kidnapping us for long enough.
@@g_pazzini Not really, it's very affordable for the things it provide.
@@g_pazzini If you can't afford $10 a month, not sure how you live life.
Many basic things in life such as groceries, going out, gas cost etc. cost a lot more than that, it's nothing that we can't spare.
I love navigraph, their products amazing, fairly priced and they’re always adding features. Competition is good thing in this instance though, so I’ll definitely be checking this out.
In my opinion, LIDO charts are visually the best. Jeppesen and FAA charts, with their Futura font, resemble technical documentation from the moon landing era. It's time they updated the font after 50 years, as better and more readable options are now available.
I'm currently using their free trial right now, and charts seem to be much clearer than Navigraph/Jeppesen ones. And the price too? $3.50/mo for that AND AIRAC data? I think that's me ported over!
I was going to say the opposite, the Lido charts look a bit cartoonish to me.
LIDO charts are reader-friendly in terms of coloring and layout design, but I'm so used to reading Jeppesen charts that I always keep coming back to them. Keep in mind that there are more than what Navigraph serves to customers such as Text General, Text Frankfurt, and so on... those publications are schools of comprehending basic and advanced levels of aviation definitions and regulations altogether.
Kudos for knowing the name of the font 😂
Ive used both in real world. Lido is much better.
Competition is the driving force in development.
This is definitely going to be a game changer. Love it. And thanks for such a quick intro.
Funny fact, Navigraph started with LIDO charts. 🙂
and I belive you can even change to LIDO in the settings
@@SonnichFennYou can't anymore
Navigraph has been so good to us. I'm sticking with them.
I’ll pay the tenner . Tho be nice if Navigraph gave us a lido charts option!
Me too. Sticking with Navigraph
have been with Navi for past two years and love them, i think they are reasonably priced for what you get. It will be good to see what the competition will do to them, i think they will become even better.
Love you easyjet, but it took me 4 minutes into your video to stay with Navigraph. Looks promising, but having to buy another software yearly killed it for me. I have had Navigraph since 2004 and love the user friendly interface software and integration with the sims I use. Thanks for the video!
$7.41 per month for my Deluxe NG subscription; been a customer for over 7 years; won't change a thing for me!! Seamless.
When it comes to these two programs the only thing I have to say is that you get what you pay for so if making a choice then that's the main point you need to keep in mind. Cheers!
Thanks Gavin, but always Navigraph for me. I met some of the Team as Cosford a few years back. Totally committed to Flight Simulation. Constantly introducing newer options (see the recent International Sim Conference) and I have always found the Forum/support first class. Worth every extra penny. Lastly, there is always time for this company to start raising price in future.
Good to see some competition for Navigraph, but until they can figure out integration with all the big airliner add-ons, it's not a very tempting alternative.
They would have to have one amazing interface, and a reasonable track record for me to even consider it. Im an airline simmer, and fly almost every single day. So the $10 per month is reasonable to me based on my use
Charts on AviaPlanner apparently don't get updated. For example, they are showing Charts from April/2024 of Airport EDDB. 9 months old, as of now (Jan/2025).
They don't include the runway number changes of October 2024, which makes them useless.
Hi ! I am not using (yet) navigraph but lido charts seem to be clearer - no doubt. However, lido needs to be incorporated in many fly pads and is not in simbrief. In other words, your summary was 100% fine - thanks for it !
I'm waiting for more development but it seems very promising so far and have seen streamers using it
I see this video right after re-subscribing to navigraph 😭😭
Their success will depend on how fast it will get integrated like the simbrief options on the EFB.
With this price. I'm definitely jumping ship!
My thoughts... Great!! It's always good to have competition, keeps the price down for one. I only just subbed to Navigraph in May but I'll be removing the automatic sub for next year and take closer look at this software for sure - thanks for the review
Been using LIDO charts for years through Aerosoft Navdata Pro, but they are dropping the product in a month... so I was dreading the idea of switching to Jeppesen via Navigraph (its expensive and I am not a fan of the Jeppesen layout). Hopefully this can be a stable and credible alternative.
I would 100% use it if it had navdata and cockpit integration. Those are the msin points I think everyone in the flying world wants
+The flight planner is also kinda scetchy, it sometimes uses the wrong runway to whats being used in vatsim
To be fair, Simbrief also does this occasionally, so always worth checking.
Like said already, simbrief is sometimes sketchy with runways as well, for example it often takes 35R as departure runway at LTFM, which is not used for departures…
I’m sure Avia planner will get updates soon that allows you to have all the features people are asking for. Note nothing is complete yet they say 1 - 2 months
Interesting, but I think many would stick with Navigraph, because they are such a big name by now and the move seems a bit risky. That's just my point of view, however it's cool to see new competition and thanks for making the video.
The move is risky? Hahahahaha.
what would be the risk? cancelling and rejoining?
Flight simmers are so dramatic 🤣 he said risky
Risky ? In what way bruh
@@Kadesh86 You make a good point, that always works lol, I wasn't thinking it through.
I love the integration navigraph have with many aircraft and other apps. Will still watch this space with interest.
I love the Lido charts much more. At the moment I use the NDP charts from Aerosoft but the end service at the end of the year.
I actually always preferred LIDO personall. In the EU, where I fly much more airlines use it than Jeppesen. The IRL Lufthansa systems have a very professional app family.
I hope they go far. Friendly Competition is always good.
If this takes off, here is a challenge for Navigraph to add option of Lido charts.
Hello! Love your videos! Just a quick Beyond ATC question… is there a way to change your approach or am I stuck with just visual approaches?
the only drawback for me is no integration with simbrief…
i actually like the LIDO charts. however i just renewed my yearly sub for navigraph just last week 😅
Are the charts available from uro control Lido charts Gavin? If so I prefer the Lido airport charts, they show taxiways much clearer
What about Simbrief compatibility?
How would you update the simulator airac data as well as the fenix etc?
Avia Planner at the moment hasn't got this function available.
There are no moving maps in Avia.Does not show your aircraft location on the ground.
But neither do most irl aircraft.
Charts are to be used for briefing. Not like Google Maps.
I like the aircraft location marker and flight plan tracker. I fly airliners almost exclusively, fly nearly every single day, and fly predominantly 1500-3000 nm flights. So it isnt uncommon that once Im up to cruise I leave my sim for periods of time. Its nice to be able to monitor what is going on
I have written to support team for navdate updates. Their replay: Hello,Thank you for contacting the AviaPlanner support team!
We are currently looking for another aviation data and chart supplier and have temporarily put new feature development and releases on hold. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Please let us know if you have any questions or if you would like to cancel your subscription and receive a refund.
Oh dear!!
Does Navdatapro not exist anymore?
Nope since a few months now
Unfortunately they get abandoned by the end of the year… and they don’t support MSFS I beliefe
Since the intergration with Simbrief, Navigraph is very powerfull and still expending with new features. But agreed, the Lidocharts are much clearer. The flightplanner and connection with the different airplanes is a must have for me though.
Where is this online free stuff? I can't find it. Only a 3 day free page.
Sweet, because I find Navigraph is way too much but a necessity if you are a serious simmer.... A cheaper option and when ability to import the flight plans into aircraft plus Volanta/SimTool Kit Pro DONE DEAL...
Anyone got a full list of every airline that uses the LIDO charts? and maybe also the LIDO OFP layout?
Condor definitely does and as far as i know all Lufthansa group airlines
Most European carriers.
And of course EasyJet as Gavin said. 😀
Does vueling and iberia use it?
So far I know:
AFR
AUA
BEL
CFG
DLA
DLH
EDW
EIN
EWG
EZY
GSW
ICE
ITY
MAS
OCN
SAS
SWR
TAP
TFL
UAE
VKG
WZZ
Hopefully they have better customer service than Navigraph.
LIDO is so much better!
60% cheaper? So $4 a month and not $10? Wow what a bargain....
I mean that’s pretty significant, they have to pay to use the charts
Discount code invalid
No discount code available.
If my comment gets pinned, I'll buy Gav a copy of X-Plane 12.
Dont you dare
Get him xplane 11 instead
I have a copy of XP11 that I don’t use anymore😂😂😂 he’ll never pin it
By coincidence I was upgrading the SSD today and came across an old 250Gb one which had X-Plane 11 on it.
Why use that trash?
0 views and 4 seconds? Bro fell off
The flight sim community isn’t very big……
navigraph is cheap lol how much did they pay you
Aviaplanner is even cheaper
@@speedbrake22 but doesn’t have any integration with the flight sims. Seems pointless. No way they can offer what navigraph offers for €3 a month not a chance there price will creep up
You’d be amazed how many people say they can’t afford a subscription to Navi.
FS2024 is promising a ForeFlight like experience already built into the sim. Simbrief/Navigraph/AviaPlanner won't be needed anymore.
