Rafael Nadal has an amazing two hand backhand. He hits one of the "heaviest" backhands on the tour, his spin and speed ratios are off the charts. In this video I breakdown 5 key checkpoints on this weapon and what helps ignite this powerful stroke. Enjoy! JF

Love love love this video analysis. I like that I can see your face and hand gestures while explaining. Another thing I like is that you draw the angles and movement of the ball, arms etc. which makes your explanation easy to understand and follow. Thanks for the awesome edits 😄

good breakdown, good for lefties the slow-mo helps a lot to know where the racket is supposed to be hitting the ball, as well as where the racket face is supposed to be.

Correct, it didn't help that he had a stress fracture in his foot as well. Thanks for your comment! JF

Does it not depend on the height of the bounce ?

    • @topspintennis

Depends on what? I don't know exactly what your question is directed to?

Very interesting. He plays tennis left handed and he’s a righty for golf… his swing resembles his two handed backhand

    John,
Love your tips, but I. Find the picture in picture very distracting. I think it's fine to start the video, but would suggest closing your box so we can focus on what you're trying to teach everyone.

Doug, I will try this with my next video. I do have a face for radio:) Thanks for your comment and suggestion. I appreciate your support! JF

weird backhand. Agassi's looks much more textbook and he pockets the ball for longer. Nadal seems to brush more rather than keep the ball on the strings. Even though nadal won more slams... Agassi backhand is something else.

It was fun to watch, Agassi also tended to take the ball earlier. I like your phrase “pockets the ball”, it makes a lot of sense. Thanks! JF

You better watch sinner backhand he has copied Nadal , for me this is the most beautiful tehnique, i dont know why some people dont like the tehnique, weird stuff.
