I just heard this song today for the first time and it made me cry. Reminds me of my brother one year when he was locked up before Xmas.
I remember being about 9 years old making the trip from Cooktown to Cairns with my mother and Aunty. We played this song on repeat the whole way. I am still listening to it on repeat, and I'm now 26.

There are very few people, anywhere, who can write a lyric with the beauty and truth of Paul Kelly. Nick Cave is a very fine lyricist but PK is top of the pile.
