My Mum is nearly 80. She told me that when I was young that the greatest British band ever was the Kinks. I didn't believe her because I loved the Pistols and the Clash and even the Smiths.....but you know what? Maybe the Kinks are the greatest and I hope they listen to this lovely cover!!!!!
At 53, I first really listened to the Kinks when I was in grade 9, this song in particular really stood out then. Hardly anyone I knew listened to the kinks except their well Known tunes, you really got me, Lola etc. but this one has always been one of my favourites of any songs, let alone the Kinks. What a gift. Great job Ladies. Thank you.
I'm a pretty cynical grey haired old British Invasion addict and I'll tell ya... this heartfelt, perfect little performance almost brought me to tears...
Absolutely awesome choices of covers by these ladies. Respectful of the originals but still making them their own. I can't get enough of them. So great to see young artists that acknowledge the riches of the past. A beautiful tribute!
When I cross over I hope that my eyes get to see every sunset from here to eternity and my ears get to hear every note, every melody, every lyric from these two beautiful voices and so that my heart and soul will follow and never be weary no more.
Hey ... I grew up listening to the Kinks and covered their songs back in the 60's with my garage/basement band in NYC. I love those guys. If I covered one of their songs now, I would do them a dishonor and would be bored if I tried to replicate what was already perfect. I'm happy these girls even know and appreciate that music, and welcome their own rendition of it like so many other covers they've done. Bravo!
This is solid. Since last night, I've overdone it, listening to this song essentially on repeat. Funny how you can stumble upon a song and stay stumbled.
During my years in America, I saw a lot of live music, especially in Texas and Louisiana. Lots of wonderful close harmonies at places like Anderson Fair in Houston and the Old Quarter in Galveston. But as good as they were, none produced the sound of dancing through my soul that the Söderberg sisters do.
These two are the new Everly Brothers in the other sexI am an old fart now but sibling harmonies have always been my bag. Been waiting for these for years. Get their stuff and never mind your ageWho cares if they cover some old stuff. This is the best version I have ever heard outside the original from all those years ago
Phenomenal,,i havnt felt love for some one since emmy lou,you girls need to be proud you phenomenons,,harmonie is key you nail it,beautifully thank you greatness i love you two 💜💛💜💛💜💛

Ray Davies and The Kinks were, together with The Beatles and The Stones, my first big idols. Coming from Sweden Rays lyrics gave me a bigger picture of England and things english. And of course I learned the language much better by listening to Kinks records than my teachers in school could teach me ;) FAK is, in my mind, so very talented that discussing their pronunciation is really petty.
Anders Eggegård Our anglofilia is one thing. FAK's talent is another. In my humble opinion this is the best song ever made. Just glad I got to hear it with FAK.
+Keith Bate When someone says "best ever"it´s just an expression of something you think is very good.Although they perhaps say best ever it is not entirely certain someon really think´s it is "best ever". Did someone understand that.???
As i said,it is only an expression of something you think is very good.It is equally impossible to appoint a song to the worlds best song, because there´s quite a few to choose from.
Years ago (like forty) i decided that i want my ashes scattered from Waterloo Bridge at sunset. I love the Kinks' original. I have a tear in my eye, now.
chumba wumba So true. Ray Davies is a master songwriter. I love Apeman, it must be the first song to bring awareness to what we're doing to the planet.
@@glennpagemusic You'd think so - with these girls being as good as they are - but no, I don't think so. I think it's another clunky mistake... like the one they did on their otherwise brilliant interpretation of Simon & Garfunkel's 'America'. Their version of the _"Laughing on the bus, playing games with the faces"_ middle eight is painful in its clunky mishearing of the proper and WAY superior original chord structure. To argue that they _meant_ to be be massively inferior doesn't wash because, as I said, they're too good. Humbling really; even great artists are capable of clunky mishaps.
Wow. It took me five or six seconds to figure out what it was. I knew I'd heard it. Perfect voices. I don't know much Kinks music, but I'll take your word.
Great use of Stereo, with the girls at centre and one side and the studio guys more to the other side, so we can hear the difference. Lovely rendition.
I've been listening to Waterloo Sunset for fifty years and I've never been as moved as when listening to this version. Lovely. I'll go on listening.
Look up Colin Hays version.....
@@pauls8456 Thanks.
I'm a huge Kinks fan, and I agree with you. This is truly a real gem!
Elliott smith’s cover is breathtakingly beautiful
Hay's is a gem, owns the whimsy and charm of the tune like no other. These two Z'rs have tinged it with platitudinous angst.

Mums know best !!!…She was so right!….never ever over produced …no 12 engineers in the studio …just four guys and 1 and a half total genius !
This song always makes me cry. These sisters always make me cry. The two of them doing this song, well, you get the picture.
Two effortlessly cool and stylish Swedish women, a sisterly Simon and Garfunkel. So this is love.
that's a great way to describe them
seeing these young folks enjoying our music is heartening

I love the Kinks, nothing comes close.......except this, it's fantastic. These two are something else!
God Save The Kinks

Ray davies duet with damon albarn is the best! Nice and raw!!👌🏼

Was our wedding song... that was brilliant and touching, amazing
Beautifully emotive...Ray would be massively impressed....

Sisters covering brothers!!!
The are gorgeous, both personality wise and as singer/songwriters. The world needs a First Aid Kit :)

Their covers really show their great taste (and talent). I'm impressed.
One of the best covers I have ever heard
I love this band!

They can do justice to virtually any songwriter's work.
It is almost scary. Are they real?

The first time they harmonized as kids, their parents minds must have been blown.
Most beautiful pop song ever. They did it justice too.
These 2 are so good it's actually shocking
Thank you recommendations. So good.
Lovely and beautiful.
NOSTALGIA IS A GREAT THING AS LONG AS IT IS GENUINE AND THEY HAVE IN IN SPADES!
Wow, I can't get over this.
This raises my spirits!
Brilliant, just brilliant,

Clear what he means (to me) . hence my comment.

Mike Weber the best bridge in London, and the best song about London, ever.
chumba wumba So true. Ray Davies is a master songwriter. I love Apeman, it must be the first song to bring awareness to what we're doing to the planet.
Love her sister standing in the back wondering when to come in. Brilliant version...
Boab millar She knows exactly when to come in.
guidotnb yes - superb timing!
+guidotnb How I wish they knew the exact guitar chords too.
@@blackmore4 I think they deliberately re-harmonized it.

Amazingly great music!
Really great cover! I brought tears
Amazing cover...... hypnotic.....🙏❤️
Great rendition of a wonderful song.
Damn, that was beautiful.
Outstanding cover of a masterpiece by Sir Ray Davies
Simply wonderful - the girl's voices are spot on here - great control.
This made me unexpectedly homesick for London. Can't wait to go home from uni in a couple weeks
there is something wholesome about older songs
Yes, they don't make music like it anymore.
Didn't expect to like it. Loved it.
There go those Goosebumps.❤
Superb. I love this band.
Forgot about this song. Mark Vader & these angels made my day . Awesome.
Best cover yet !!
Thank you for this. First I've heard it. Beautiful.
Absolutely lovely.
Great use of Stereo, with the girls at centre and one side and the studio guys more to the other side, so we can hear the difference. Lovely rendition.
Very nice cover of the Best Pop Song Ever Written.
Thank you Sir Raymond Davies!
A great cover of the Kinks hit Xx
Best cover of this I have heard. :-)
From Stockholm to London, our Germanic cousins pay homage to the brilliant Ray Davies!
Great show live!
It's like The Mamas and the Papa's best moments.
Their cover of Fever Ray's "When I Grow Up" is haunting..💗
I love this!
Voices like velvet. So good.
Great arrangement and choice of harmonies.
Lord, this is simply beautiful.
Klara, Johanna...I love you. You light my soul.
Extraordinaires !
Very nice. They remind me of a female Simon & Garfunkel.
***** never crossed my mind but you are so right. Different sex different era but both brilliant.
Spot on !
I have seen many cover versions from FAK, seems there isn't any song they cant make better. ❤️
