I'm 58 and have probably played or heard this song well over a 1000 times since 1971 when I first bought this LP. First time ever I've heard it sung in harmony. They killed it.
What can you say about these two talented young ladies? They can bring emmylou Harris and Patty Smith to tears and get a standing ovation from Paul Simon!!
Exactly! That "America" cover is absolute perfection. They are amazing. I'm 42 growing up with 4 older brothers listening to Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Zepplin, The Who I have listened to so many covers of this song by amazing artists. I was skeptical even though I worship FAK, but they nailed it. This btw was my all time.dream.growing up, being able to cover this particular song stomping back and forth on stage with a huge audience. So glad to see these girls do it so well!
New wave I belive - >Lolita Pop their father,Punk was already decling , there were some wierd musicgenre than besides punk -cannot remember just now. But anyway Punk is swedish ebba grön and ksmb - not the commersial Lolita Pop
I fell off my couch! Got back on it, and fell off again. Can't believe it these sisters would have ever cover a song like this, or furthermore, ever listen to Black Sabbath in the first place. Certainly took me by surprise and I love it!
Just got tickets to see Lord Huron yesterday not realizing First Aid Kit is opening until after I bought the tickets. So stoked!!! I’ve been wanting to see these ladies live for years!
In my own opinion, the best antiwar song ever written! Lyrics by "Geezer" Butler (age 21 back then) To sad, all to relevant today, as it has been ever since it was written. As a huge Sabbath fan since the early -70ies I just can take of my hat and bow to these fellow Swedish countryladies! Well done sisters!!
Just when I thought that I could not love this band anymore than I already do . And then I discovered this!! I am enamored and Enchanted in every sense of the word!
So fantastic to see them go out of their comfort zone and experiment and extend their musical experience and abilities. They truly are amazing and inspirational as well as aspirational! Wonderful talents!
There's such undeniable truth in Geezer Butler's lyrics hearing these young ladies belt them out. And it really takes guts to cover this song, not easy to make it work. Their harmony was stirring.
I am a little late to the party, but I love this. I had not heard of this group until today. I've listened to quite a few of their songs now and this is definitely different from their norms. Great stuff. They shld put one rocking song on every album.
either u got talent or you're posing. These folks have talent! What an absolutely cool cover of an all time metal classic. I hope Ozzy and co. have seen this. mY guess is they'd love it.
I think Swedes have a strong affection for metal. the Cardigans were big Metallica fans. There are loads of metal bands from there entombed, dismember etc. I knows cos I love extreme metal but I also love this pair of funsters. Maybe I just like music that comes from the heart?
I'm Swedish but I think this is a bit of a hipster hijack of metal. Black Sabbath attracts some people for the wrong reason, because of the 70s retro thing and some superficial similarities to blues, Americana and old Vietnam hippie protest music. They're from the time of Easy Rider. Black Sabbath isn't good because they remind me of the era of their music; they're good because the music itself is good.
Cardigans do a cover of Iron Man on their first album I believe. It's weird and funky and made me like the song. I'm not a Sabbath fan even though there's a lot of metal I like, Swedish metal in particular. This is the second time I've liked a Sabbath song.
That another "nonmetalgenre" Swedish band should do so is kind of becoming the norm rather than the exception. What is kind of surprising is how unironic their version is.... Have been ignoring this band since I got some of their early material on a Third Man Records singles compilation (unbelievably half a decade ago)... I can see that was a bit of a mistake on my part. Must investigate further
@Yes Sir! These girls enjoy a lot of hard rock / heavy metal, their father was a punk rock musician in the 80s too.. Heavy Metal fandom is hardly uncommon amongst women here in Sweden either.
@Yes Sir! no it's not dick i, t's loving great music thing. I love the Ramones , First aid kit and think that the Cardigans are pretty good too (Nina is in on my celebrities I would marry list, cool and beautifull).
@Yes Sir! ok , some sort of nazi , I don't worry since you people are true reactionaries. That's why you here. Only reacting never creating. You don't have any music worth listening to. No leaders worth following. No life. You're not even worth the rope we hanged your leaders with the last time. Please go fuck yourself
Just when I think I could not love Klara and Johanna any more than I already do, they fricken blast out the greatest Black Sabbath song of all time!!!! HELL YEAH!!!
@@akewlen2888 awww that's funny, imagining those words with a Swedish accent! my mom was such a proud Swede she had a 🇸🇪 flag outside! She's watching with me in spirit, trying to convince my grandparents that Abba isn't the only band.
Nice cover. don't recall a synthesizer as I listened to the song a 1000's time! Kudos to the drummer killing "Bill Ward's" drumming. Noticed it took two drummers to cover the Master.
Really good cover! I'm a heavy metal fanatic but i also dig First Aid Kit's music:) They are great live as well, I've seen them twice and both were very special concerts.
I have heard of this band before but I can't say that I have listen to them in any large amount but I might have to change that beacuse they intriuge me with their taste in music, are very beautiful, same age as me and also Swedish like me. My dad is a big Sabbath fan and I used to wake up to their songs during the weekends when he blasted them loud on the stereo XD. I know that their music isen't like black sabbath's but hey they seem talented and I have a broad taste in music anyways.
Swedish folk chicks nail Black Sabbath. They friggin’ own it! Life is full of wonderful surprises! Total respect.
yes indeed!!! That blew me right against the wall, wow!!! And Klara has same birthday as me, that s a good Omen, me think. ;-)
Hopefully Sweden stays out of Nato. We don't need WWIII.
It would be like before: The poor fight.
We like when life is somewhat fair.
Then we f*ck it up.

Mark B. I'm 58, I've heard many covers of this song, and I agree with you.
Has there ever been greater DISDAIN put to song than Ozzy put in this one? nice cover.
yay
Yeah they did!!!
@Colm m Go listen to some more Tool, tool.
As a massive Sabbath fan, the ladies absolutely kill it here. They rarely disappoint.
What can you say about these two talented young ladies? They can bring emmylou Harris and Patty Smith to tears and get a standing ovation from Paul Simon!!

Truth
Perhaps the best Black Sabbath cover ever.
Never expected to hear them covering Black Sabbath, but I am glad they did. This is pretty amazing!
+Saul Berenson They've been doing War Pigs for a long time actually =) It's a pretty great fit for them.
agreed
Wanheda yeah
You’re easily amused
Wanheda same I was quite pleasantly surprised by this
Their parents must have had a pretty epic LP-collection (:
Look for Lolita Pop (Tarzan on a red Scooter - Hey Winner ) dad on guitar
why do you think their music taste came from their parents?
Mine never listened to metal but I discovered it all by myself!
psgates 99 On the GrahamNorton show Klara said their parents were "punk rockers"

Not sure it was possible for First Aid Kit to get even cooler yet here we are!
Is there nothing these girls can't do? Awesome.
Nothing, except playing in Tampa?🤔
"Is there nothing these girls can't do"? .... Yeah, a decent version of War Pigs. This was horrid for several reasons.
@@avolite719 Cover doesn't mean "play exactly as the original" this was fine, although sounds odd with a telecaster........
@@Revener666 ... I'm fine with any cover not being a carbon copy. Took guts for them to try this song, but I still say fail.
Yea, fuckin’ bitches musta sold their beautiful souls. It’s the only explanation.

swedish people love heavy metal.
The most elegantly dressed version of this song,....ever.

But for real they are pleasant.

lucky, lucky you!
OMG!!??
That's like winning the golden ticket !! Haha jeeeeeeze. 😍😍😍
this blew my fucking mind, thanks conor oberst for awakening me to these two ladies with good taste in covers
I just love it when people tell me contemporary music is dead. These young women have been fearless or should I say unintimidated from the get go.
First Aid Kit are so good, doing their own thing.
This is just a wonderful bonus.
Great Great band.❤️

Geezer is an absolute TREASURE
Johanna & Klara go heavy, how great!
Never heard of First Aid Kit that s my loss what an awesome rendition. And the ladies are tearing it up!
Kickin ass. First time this song was covered with the vocals in tune...and with an acoutic guitar in the mix.🤑
The acoustic guitar and piano playing are absolutely fantastic.
Scandinavian women singing Black Sabbath just does something to me I can't quite explain.
I hear ya.
I think we can all guess Danny steady on fella ...lol. remember to clean up after, Kleenex please.
If you ever doubted if they were Swedish, allow Johanna's headbanging skills disabuse you of that notion.
I have never really cared that much for First Aid Kit before, but they just got my full respect.
Most adorable cover of War Pigs I have ever heard and seen. Love it!
Awesome!! A classic song!! I never get tired of artists covering this! And they does a perfect cover, awesome!!
Well done Klara and Joanna on bringing out your inner headbanger. Would love to have seen this live. Come back to Australia soon.
I have no words to describe what I feel when I see this.
Pure love.

Absolutely loving them vocals harmonies! That was superb! \m/

Awesome musicians & the vocalists are totally into it and sound amazing !!!
What talent, love these two ladies. Way outside their normal comfort zone, but still they simply nailed it. Excellent!
I didn't think I could love First Aid Kit more, then I found this video.

Mr. Bill Ward thanks first aid kit this is just too cool
Definitely did not see this coming!
Their talent takes them in many directions. So amazing it hurts.
Did not see this coming. I found these girls from a video game with one of their songs. What a trip its sent me on. Bravo. 👏
The Long Dark! Another survivor!
I just now discovered this band, they freaking kill it!! I must investigate.....

Even songs I've grown weary of, are suddenly vibrant when
First Aid Kit

Looking forward to your next trip down under
