We’re winterproofing Briny Marlin with a lick of paint. We’ve undercoated with red and grey oxide primers and satin marine paint, ready for the top coats in spring.
In Sepetember we started preping our boat for painting ready for winter. We did quite a bit of work on the rust patches and scrapes. We used Vactan as a rust converter, plastic padding where needed, and then generally cleaned it up in readiness.
We studied all the boat painting videos we could find including John Barnard's • How To Paint Your Narr... . This whole series is very useful.
We got our marine paint from Black Country Paints: www.bcpaints.com/ (they're also on ebay and have offers for buying more than one tin). We bought the primers from a local paint store.
