I have to be honest I'm offended by everyone saying it's inspired by a Speedmaster. The watch is way closer to a 1960's Heuer Autavia, than a Speedy.
Thanks for commenting. I definitely see the Autavia resemblance, particularly the new release. I think the speedy references are drawn from the choice of hesalite vs sapphire crystal, bracelet, and the name. I definitely see Autavia vibes with the dial and pushers.
Just discovered your channel, and it’s reminding me of what a truly independent review looks like. I’ve owned version one of the Skymaster and your review is the first one that matched my experience with the watch: a fair balance of positives and negatives while taking the value proposition and alternatives into account. So many reviews pulled punches on the basic finishing, the feel of the bracelet, and the difficulty/expense of servicing, but yours didn’t. On top of that, you packed a lot of information into a compact video review and didn’t waste any time. I can’t wait to see more!

Personally yes. Hamilton is a storied brand and that watch is one of the best in their catalog. The case finishing and dial is a step up. I also think the dial and movement finishing is a significant upgrade.
