the FTE is due to a little burr on the bolt face. the extraction spring gets hung up on the burr and doesn't put enough pressure on the brass pushing into the hook. a small file eliminates the burr and enables the spring to do its job.
I think on the first gen of these released it was actually a bad extractor and extractor spring. I called them and they shipped a new one of each and they were totally different than what was in there. they were real nice and they came within a week.
I have had my rpr for about 3 months now. Shot several hundred rounds so far. Zero failures to eject. Zero misfires. Gun is crazy accurate with my vortex diamondback scope.
Cory picking up my RPRR this week, to match my 6.5 RPR and to go along with my 10/22 HB build that loves Federal’s white box. The ejection problem you mentioned should not happen if you give it a hardy bolt action. This seems to be only a problem with slow opening of bolt. Thanks

Thanks for watching Pete! I put a target out at 450 about a week ago and didn't get any hits out of about 50 tries but I was using super inconsistent ammo. At 300 plus it's going to largely depend on ammo. Good luck!

Just got back to shooting .22 after 30 years. Just got the same rifle for Xmas. (I have no interest in the bigger calibers.) I added a 3-9 X 50 Vortex Diamondback scope and bi-pods. I have since purchased 2 more (AR type) .22 caliber rifles. My ultimate goal is cracking an egg at 300 yards. I love the RPR, hope you enjoy yours, at least as much, as I like mine.
I have a Ruger Precision Rimfire too. Maybe 500 rounds through it - not one failure to eject. Have shot CCI Standard, Eley Target, Eley Force, Federal (something), and CCI Velocitor. Velocitor is spread wide at 50 and wider at 100. CCI standard and Eley Target best so far. Looking forward to finding a longer range.

I love mine! Running subs with a suppressor. I actually have the 6-24-50 from Bushnell. Did you have trouble with zeroing your scope? I tried zeroing at 50 but ended up bottoming out 7 inches high

I'm in Canada, and I have to get a firearm licence before im able to get a rifle...the ruger precision firearm was the gun im wanting! so this is good to know. and do you still have the scope for the gun ? any pros/cons with the set up you have ? and what bipod do you have for your gun ? im trying to order some items for the gun before my licence comes in . and did that stand just clamp on and attach, with what came in it or was it needing any additional parts to mount

I think this is a good setup for the money the only thing i'd change going back it get the 50mm model instead of 44mm i always like to have the extra magnification if needed. bipod really just depends on your budged, magpuls are ok but go with something like an atlas if you have the money to spend.

Literally just bought this gun and the same glass was delivered today. Plus, planning on pulling the trigger on a Sparrow or a Dead Air Mask next week. Did you finally get a can on yours? BTW (I know it’s mentioned below) 22plinkster had the same ejection issue and went with just operating the bolt quickly to solve it
My 5 year old son picked up his RPR 17 HMR (Picked it up for $367) last Friday and is excited to go trying it out this Labor Day weekend. He put the BSA Sweet 17 3-12x40 scope ($65)on it with a Caldwell 9-13" bipod on it ($45). Also added the DIP Muzzle Control Compensator .860" 1/2x28 TPI ($40).He is super excited. We are bringing golf balls to target at :-)I saw on a different You tube video the 17HMR went through a pretreated 4x4 :-o

Started watching your videos on the different ammo. I just picked this rifle up last week. I paid $479.00 for the rifle (not sure why they went up that much in last few years.) I decided on this scope as well. You re the second youtuber that I've seen with it. Do you have any issues with the mage release?
You cant SLOW pull, thats why it fails to eject. You have to be a little aggressive with the bolt and it will never fail. You have to pull a little bit faster than you are in the video. Mine never jams cus I keep in mind you have to pull a little bit fast.

Don't get a Sparrow, they aren't as quiet and nice for the price. The Mask, Spectre II, Axiom, etc... Are all quieter with less first round pop and quieter in general. I have an Erector from Q in jail right now which should be another good one.

About the gong, I could hear a soft thud but not a ring. It was enough to tell a hit from a miss. Anyway, I enjoyed the video and love my RPRR. I have a Bushnell Rimfire 6-18x40 I picked up from the Amazon Warehouse for, no lie, 50 bucks. Absolutely nothing wrong with it. And, it’s pretty good glass.

I appreciate that. I have a RPR but mine is chambered in 17hmr. If I move slow it won't eject. That's why I was suggesting to be a little more aggressive. I'll get ahold of Ruger and get it anyways..lol
CZ455 Is around $400, and will outshoot the RPR all day, every day. I can see the attraction of the RPR, with its chassis system and ergonomics, but if you want more accuracy in the sub$500 range, get a CZ.

Fyi guys ruger will send you a free 0 moa mount,dont email call them,it may take a few trys but they will send one out,30 moa mount is nice for shooting long distance but seriously how many people can shoot 300 yards, 5%? Why ruger decided to not included a 0 moa mount is beyond me
I get it but let's be real it's a. 22lr,300+ yards with a .22 is a insane amout of drop it was never intended to be a long range bullet,and for 98% of people they cant even shoot past 100 yards let alone 300+ yards and starting out 30 moa low on low budget (mostly) scopes is nuts,even the lady I talked too at ruger said she alone gets 5 calls a day about 0 moa mounts and she couldn't believe ruger sends them out with 30 moa mounts

I bought mine because of its long range capability and as a trainer. I have an RPR Gen2 308 that I have pushed to 1650 so far.
@@highspeed9518 This rifle is a competition capable platform! It was also intended as a trainer. It has the same trigger and you can remove the clip on the bolt so the throw is the same as the full size like my 308.

it sure is fun to shoot! i've shot eggs with it before at 300. i would say 1 our of 5-6 consistently.

I've since put an ER shaw barrel in it and since its got a true match chamber the ejection problems only got worse :(

yea i use to but i moved. i can still shoot out to 90 at the new house tho so its better than nothing.

with certain types of ammo it doesn't matter how aggressive i am with the bolt. federal white box ammo just has issues end of story.
My CZ 457 Trainer cost me $439.00 last year(2021) and it shoots real well!

eject/extract = same thing. Everyone and their brother talks about the FTE with the first gen rifles.

I got this scope( not razor hd )😀 for my 270 hope i get good results with it
since this video i put the same scope just the 6-24x50 on it and its great. dial it up and down all day and it always returns to zero.

i consistently shoot 450+ so i need all the moa i can get
I get it but let's be real it's a. 22lr,300+ yards with a .22 is a insane amout of drop it was never intended to be a long range bullet,and for 98% of people they cant even shoot past 100 yards let alone 300+ yards and starting out 30 moa low on low budget (mostly) scopes is nuts,even the lady I talked too at ruger said she alone gets 5 calls a day about 0 moa mounts and she couldn't believe ruger sends them out with 30 moa mounts

I bought mine because of its long range capability and as a trainer. I have an RPR Gen2 308 that I have pushed to 1650 so far.

It was also intended as a trainer. It has the same trigger and you can remove the clip on the bolt so the throw is the same as the full size like my 308.
