Everybody remember for those complaining about stuff like the vehicle being OP and what not, it is their game and they can make any home brew rules they want, the main important thing is they are having fun, which leads to fun content to watch
Lore wise, this fight makes perfect sense. Most of the Genestealer Cults are under the impression that they'll join the tyranids in their glorious conquest once they arrive on the planet. Little do they know, they're actually more useful being munched up into goo and remade as some kind of gaunt... Not every member of the cult would be too pleased about this revelation, but some would just love it!
Yes it really does, I like to imagine that if the genestealers manage to escape the world they doomed(most wouldn't) that instead of worshiping the tyranids themselves, they want their power, they see it as the next step in evolution, and intend to destroy other genestealer cults or convince them that they worship monsters.
Most of the kill team terrain is specifically built to NOT be line of sight blocking (which yeah, makes it not ideal for fullscale 40k) because the modifier(s) to hit (distance and cover) are good enough on such a small board. Shooting in general is already reasonably bad (with some exceptions... namely flamers) in the confines of a Kill team board if you make it so they can't see through terrain that is a huge nerf to Ben's squad.
T1Mscott Indeed. A full melee team isn't supposed to work unless it has numbers to absorb hits with or special sneaky tactics. A team full of lictors and genestealers should be a risky army to use, being great if it gets into combat but useless until then.
We played some test games with true line of sight and it just led to everyone being able to see everyone all the time. Both sides lined up and shot at each other until one side rolled better and won. We decided it would be more fun for us if LoS was much more limited and so changed that rule rather than build and paint a whole new bunch of terrain.
Ben (Yogscast) by all means you guys put in work to put out great content for us, play what you think is fun. My experience has been that shooting has been pretty ineffective even when we can see each other (hitting on 5s,6s etc) so the shooty units end up tacking on a wound or two before the melee runs them over. Anyway, it was a really fun game to watch (definitely a close one) and I don't mind the house rules at all. Mostly just trying to explain to others why the terrain is the way it is in the context of KT.
I like how anyone mentioning the truck or the lore apparently missed the first five minutes of the video where they explained both of those things reasonably.
it's a shame they didn't get that one last turn, alex had a chance but it slimmed as he kept getting riddled by kindanids and their peashooters, can't wait for more tho
The one thing i feel like i need to add is every model can only receive 1 injury check per weapon per turn. So a model that has 1 wound remaining gets shot at by the frag grenade, 4 shots 2 hits 2 wounds 2 failed saves, as soon as the first save was failed all other saves are ignored and you only do 1 injury roll. The small exception to this is weapons that deal multiple wounds. A weapon that does 3 wounds when making an injury check would have you roll 3 dice and take the highest result

Adaptive Tactics - the 'veteran free move' happens 'at the start of the first turn' rather than 'before the first turn'. The upshot of this is that if you advance, you'll still have the advance restrictions (like on shooting) in the rest of that turn.
How did you make the truck? Did you just cut up some rhino parts or something because I've also got a genestealer cult kill team and think it would be cool for terrain so it could be like what they came in
There is also a load of independent model makers who make sci-fi trucks for 28-32 mm scale models. Just Google 28mm truck or 28mm sci-fi truck. You might want to email them before you buy them to ensure they are big enough for 40k stuff - ask if it's possible to see an image next to a ruler or a space marine. Get one of those trucks, add some details to it from GW bits and it'll probably work - but don't expect your local Games Workshop to let you use it on their tables. Could we get close ups of the different forces before the game and maybe some art of our Yogs Generals in the attire or appearance of their chosen faction? :3

Turn number wouldn't hurt and VP/CO wouldn't hurt I guess. I don't know what else you're looking for in terms of showing the models, they did a fair amount of close ups.
T1Mscott , he's talking about what dedicated miniatures/battle report channels do on RUclips. Super close ups on each model from a models eye view, rather than from above.
