- This is Space Marine Steve signing on and welcoming you to the very first episode of "Kill Team: Challenger"! We are so excited that you're joining us.
In our first challenge, JT McDowell brings a gaggle of Orks to contend with the might of the Salamanders as they feud over the remains of a crashed Drop Pod.
This is the first episode of the inaugural season of "Kill Team: Challenger". We are experimenting. We are having fun with it. And, we hope you enjoy the evolution of this new show with us.

Hello, Everyone! Welcome to the pilot episode of a brand new show! This is Kill Team Challenger! This channel is one of my favorites to watch for warhammer 40k and you inspired me to finally get a starter kit and an ork army. Space marines and orks are my favorites. So excited for this series.

I wonder if this is, like, Steve's thing... Playing chapters without the thing that makes the chapters famous. I remember the match where he played White Scars without bikes, now Salamanders without flamers. What's next? Blood Angels without assault?
@@necasperaterent29386 its a shame since when he does use the specific tactics they work well, when he did use the bike captain when he played white scars, he used it well and the captain demolished alot of models

if this ended on TV it would be 2 in the morning and not on demand (here in UK anyway) At least with youtube can watch it when it comes out and rewatch with mates. Love your shows guys.

Seriously great energy here, both players had huge stage presence and added so much to the game. The editing and filming is truly top notch too, I love the circling of units, dynamic camera angles, and the cheesy special effects definitely add a bit of fun flavor to the mix. Funnest game of 40k, let alone Kill Team, I've ever seen!

Those pink and cyan circles are not in some of your other videos but they are SO HELPFUL for someone who doesn't know all the names of the dudes. It also makes it much easier to see who is moving/shooting who.

Cool stuff! Will be watching this closely since I mainly play Kill Team.
One thing, not sure if you missed it or someone else said it: You always get a CP each turn. Your leader gives you 1 extra. So instead of 2 you get 1 when your leader dies.

This is fun! Keep on making Kill Team battle reps, they are super interesting. You see all the action, no skipping of stuff like in larger and longer battles.
I just played my first Kill Team game last week so now I'm super excited for this series.

I'm so glad this is a series! I've always preferred Kill Team to regular 40K and this is such a novel and unique concept

Part of 40k in 40's success is its catchy name. Perhaps "Killer Take All" or something similar to make the terms of the competition clearer?

Sweet! KILL TEAM! I was worried you guys wouldn't come back after the initial KT video. I get that it's a side hustle, but if you could afford some time for graphics, maybe an active model counter or something to show when the breaking rolls are about to start? That always seems to be the most dramatic part in our home games. Just something small that shows kill counts/flesh wounds and an indicator of where the break rolls start.
Can't wait for more.
As a believer of the Greater Good, I can say that I didn't mind either side winning or losing.... But damn, I love Kill Team.

Kill Team Challenger has been approved for a full season :) so! That means 8 episodes or so to see how things go and if it all goes well... it will get approval for subsequent seasons!

There should be clubs somewhere near you that meet up for games.
I would recommend the TTS Warhammer 40k Discord Channel and Getting Tabletop Simulator on Steam. You can play Warhammer 40k (Normal or Killteam) on the computer! A good supplement until you find real life people to play with.
You can also enjoy Age of Sigmar on it if that's your cup of tea.

We won't be! The second episode has already been released to Patreon and if the entire first season goes well (8 Episodes or so) then it will become a staple just like 40k in 40m!
I really enjoyed this. Lots of people are making Kill Team battle reports but this one stands out as a great one.

I do have a small change/addition I'd like to see for the series, and that is in some way, showing us the die rolls more often. Either it's by way of video evidence or just a number popping up in the video, there were times I wish I knew the what was rolled and only knew it was good or bad based on the player reactions.
I hope you see this and I hope it wouldn't add too much extra work for you guys but it would be nice for more clarity/understanding.

I'm curious about the tactical choice to not fall back from the powerklaw. In Killteam you almost have to stagger charges because if your opponent falls back you can't charge them in that same turn, but they cannot fall back if they were just charged.
I love it. On a constructive note, I think it will be very helpful to see more overlays, such as model readying, CP, VP, maybe even wound counter when being hit. But it is just starting. Appreciate your works, guys!

Great stuff. You’ve managed to get me excited about Kill Team again
The entire time, I was thinking how it would be super fun to have a campaign of 40K with some Kill Team mixed in. Specifically for GSC to represent the assassinations that they do to ease the war efforts, but if their plans go awry one of their Nexos can get caught unawares with a token guard and needs to make good his escape. Really though, I just think I underestimated the narrative and fun value of Kill Team.
We are playing some narrative with Crusade and want more narrative to make it into all our battles.
