    RULES EDIT:
    Trips alarms don't change an operative to engage they work the same as vantage and the operative is 'treated' as engaged - thus hidden horror would nullify this.
    'Emboldened Aspirant' - could have been used as the Tyranid Warrior had more wounds remaining than the Scout at the start of the step.

  • @averhan
    @averhan 4 месяца назад +13

    I've just started the video, but Scout Squad Trip Alarms don't actually flip the unit to Engage, they are just treated as Engage until the end of the Turning Point. That means that units with super-Conceal abilities, like Genestealers, shouldn't be affected by them.
    Edit: Emboldent Aspirant was usable by the Missile Gunner in the first Turning Point because it can also be used if the target of the shooting attack has more wounds than the shooter.

      @GFNGaming  4 месяца назад +1

      Cheers bud - Added to the rules note - Its was mentioned as flips not treats as flipped so 100% hidden horror should null this.
      Good to note on the Emboldened Aspirant thing also

    - the Scout tracker's auspex works like the Intercession one. You only need visibility. You do not need visibility when the enemy is withing 6".
    - The genestealers cannot be treated as engage despite any other rule, when in conceal and behind cover.
    "While this operative has a Conceal order, it is always treated as having a Conceal order, regardless of any other rules (e.g. Vantage Point)." So basically the kill of the first genestealer was invalid.
    - Emboldened Aspirant: "Use this Tactical Ploy after rolling dice in the Roll Attack Dice step of a Fight or Shoot action made by a friendly SCOUT SQUAD operative, if it is the first friendly operative to do either during this Turning Point, or if the target has more Wounds remaining than that friendly SCOUT SQUAD operative at the start of the step." So you do not need to be the first to shoot or fight, if the enemy model has more wounds than the scout.
    - Tyranid warriors cannot get injured (their own aura affects them fully).
    - Turning point 4 Warrior STALK was invalid, since he did not have a Conceal order. "One friendly HIVE FLEET operative that has a Conceal order and is more than 3" from enemy operatives can perform a free Normal Move action."

      @0Finlay0 4 месяца назад +1

      All points here correct except the one about Tyranid Warriors. They can actually be injured, Synapse just means they ignore the movement and to hit penalties from being injured. But they are still injured for other effects, for example the No Escape Tac Ploy from Commorrite Kill Team. This also has the nice effect of meaning they get around rules that say an Operative gets injured regardless of rules that say it can't be injured (such as the Inquisitorial Enlightener Agent), as they are still injured just ignoring the penalties 😅

    I think Genestealers don't get affected by the trip alarm because of the super-Conceal ability.

    • @GFNGaming

      Cheers added to the main rules edit - We played it the other way where it actually flips the token rather than how its written counts as - you're right hidden horror nulls it

    "Emboldened Aspirant" is also licit if the enemy target had more wounds than the Scout did before the attack. So it would have been legal here.

    I have to say, this outcome was kind of decided before the battle started
    Spoilers for the video:
    I think mistakes were made by the Hive Fleet on what to bring to the table. Taking 5 Genestealers and 3 Warriors (same as taking 6 Warriors) is not really playable for this team. You simply end up having to few bugs left over after TP2 to do anything (like in this case) costing the Hive Fleet Player the win.
    The Tyranid operatives just dont have the survivability required to have so few operatives, especially considering they want to be in CQC most of the time.
    Taking 10 Genestealers or 5 Genestealers and 8 Gaunts or 3 Warriors and 8 Gaunts would have secured a win for the Hive Fleet here.
    (Note that I dont think the devourers on the Termagants are worth it, losing those 4 selections from the Swarm Fire Team just puts you into the same situation as in this video)

    So can someone clear up how the rocket scour and the cannon beast were able to sheet each other when a large obscuring piece of terrain was between them shots?
    Even though they were both on a vantage point...

    Around 24:00 when they fight, you use “Hive Mind Dominate” which I’ve never heard of. I recently got a hive fleet team and was wondering what this is sorry?

    Isn't the activation at 18:40 illegal? You aren''t allowed to dash + charge in the same activation even if dash is a free action.

    • @GFNGaming
      @GFNGaming  4 месяца назад +4

      no it's a 'charge over' - it's an octarius specific terrain rule - it was cleared up in the errata a few years back as well - You can dash AND 'charge over' - it's not a normal charge it just prohibits normal move and fall back - hope that helps :)

    18:50 - even if the Dash is free, you may not charge in the same activation when you perform a Dash, Move or Fall Back. The "free" part just saves you the AP cost.

      I guess "is treated as charge" only means you can't charge twice in the same activation, right?

    • @GFNGaming
      @GFNGaming  4 месяца назад +4

      @@Mangix_the_BearI assume it's to interact with other rules that happen when an operative charges like 'Relentless' 'avalanche of muscle' etc. and the one you mention for charging twice. - They do answer this in the errata you can do it:
      Q: For Scrap Pile terrain features in Killzone: Octarius, can an
      operative perform a Dash action in the same activation in which it
      performs a Charge Over action, even though a Charge Over action
      is treated as a Charge action?
      A: Yes. That is an exception for that terrain feature
