I've been watching ur vids and I have to say that they are perfect. So many "DIY" vids on RUclips are scripted, flashy, full of unnecessary graphics and loud music. They seem to be in it more for the "fame" than anything else. I love that your vids are non-scripted... They are 100% honest and real. I can tell that you absolutely love working on your MINI and that you genuinely want to help us work on our MINIs. At 43 I have owned my share of cars. When I bought my MINI I had no idea what I was getting myself into. I wish I would have discovered your channel in the beginning of my build. Having already worked out most of my issues, I still enjoy watching your channel. My MINI is the most absolute fun car that I have ever owned... The juice has most definitely been worth the squeeze. The things these cars can pull off when built smart and right are freaking amazing. That said, I know that I will eventually run into more problems down the road and it will be your channel and FB group that I will visit 1st.
Hey project mini! thanks for the new video! my wife and i just bought a 2013 cooper s and were going through your videos picking what we want to do first! Thanks for going over the "hot air intake" issue. i was slightly worried that it was a bigger issue than it actually is. I'm ready do build this fresh intake!
Check out how Krumm Performance did an intake, they did a hole in a wall where is your cone filter so air can be sucked direct from that „grille” where You have wipers, also its good to add an heat shield from peugeot between turbo and valve cover :)
It's very interesting what would you say about the quality of filtering possibilities of such filters? They can not filter out a lot of very small "dust/dirt/etc" particles comparing to "regular" filters, so all that stuff goes inside... How do you solve that problem? Perhaps oil change every 3k km, or something else, or it doesn't matter and it's just killing the engine faster? Really interesting to hear your experience with these. From all of you guys who'll read this.
Hey, so I while back you did a video on dual oil catch cans on your r56 n14 mini. I've been wanting to do the same modification to my mini. Do you still recommend this mod? and what have you encountered (if anything) along the way?
I 100% recommend dual catch cans. The only reason I’m only running 1 is because i have methanol injection. I’m planning an updated catch can video in the near future
i appreciate your videos, thank you very much. have you thought about making a custom ICE pipe from the inter-cooler to the intake, ive looked at purchasing but at $430. i have a R56 JCW, with a alta 3" exhaust from the cat back, an ar design 3" hi-flo catted downpipe yet to install, i do have a cold air intake but and going to do your set up, i just purchased your listed items. I also have a Helix inter-cooler, and replaced all stock piping except the center factory section of the ice pipe. i have purchased the same new turbo the S42, yet to install, can you recommend an ECU mod that will allow me to easily change between stages. i have a race chip installed with the changeable throttle and performance response control that surprisingly made a very noticeable difference in performance, and id like the same ability with an ECU program. one last question and i appreciate your time, since i will be installing a new turbo can you discuss adjusting boost, ill go back through your videos to see if you have but thought id ask. thanks again for all the videos. mike oh and FYI its a 2010 JCW with 54,558 miles
I have an ICI pipe on order now, so i won’t be making my own. As for the ECU, I’m tuned by Mario Palza. It’s a stage 3 RPM powered tune. He offers an option where the sport button is used to switch between two tunes. His. contact info is in the description of the JMTC S42 turbo review video i just did
