I have installed the AEM air intake on my 07 R56 S, but I also installed a Carbon "Big Mouth" Airscoop and cut out the blocking piece of metal you see when you take the OEM Scoop off. Since you want max cold airflow, install a Oilcatch system and let the outlet hose from that run into a Breather-filter instead of using the OEM Engine Breather system which let the hot Vent-air go directly into the turbo and prevent the intake-air reaching max cold. Installing a bigger Alu-Intercooler is another important thing...and not costly anymore, the cheap 150$ works great but expect minor mods to them.
Even though I think it's really well engineered, I don't think it will give 14 hp just by itself... You're maybe looking at a 30 hp gain with this intake, an exhaust and a tune. That would put a 184 hp n18 mini to 215 hp, which is really nice.
I know that this is an old video, but what do you mean by " harsh and inclement weather conditions" I live in the Netherlands.. we have quite a bit of rain throughout the year.
They also sell a nylon sock that looks awesome that slips around the filter. Protects from rain (hydro lock), dust, and mud! Well worth it for a few bucks more.
around 2010, the engine was updated from the n14 to the n18, similar engine, just differently formatted, and a few reliability improvements. although i reckon it sounds a little worse than the n18 and all the horror stories with the n14 are over exadurated. change oil every 5000km and install oil catch cans and watch for the common faults, e.g. death rattle and waterpump issues.
I just installed an AEM cold air intake on my 2013 Mini Cooper S, now there's a "car on lift" icon that appears in front of me, but my car was taken into service about 1,000 miles ago. Any ideas?
One of the better engineered AEM intakes I've seen
"during inclement weather you must return to OEM" . yea like im going to want to be out side after a blizzard just to change my intake lol

I think they compared it with dirty filter, 152hp is way to less for a stock car.
Wicked! Demo and Info, Thanks AEMintakes 👍✌ UK
Is there any concern of water "rain" getting into the system.
Nope I've tested it by putting a hose to it. Unless your pouring water right into it rain won't do nothing
They sell a nylon sock that looks amazing for the filter. Protects from rain mud and dust
The airfilter falls off after driving no matter how tight it is... any thoughts??
Not intake water for the bonnet air?
I'm assuming this is compatible with a standard 1.6L Mini Cooper ?
Turbocharged only I believe
Okay so this says for 2010 clubman s. but I have a 09 clubman s but with the same exact specs as a 2010 and my engine bay is 100% identical to a 2010
will it not fit?
I have an 09 clubman just installed the intake man

Not much diference before and after
the recording is a bit shit, It does sound better. the turbo is quite a bit louder.
does it work well with stock turbo? i have the same car
What's this air intake system cost?
I have a 09 Cooper S.
Like $550
hello but do you sell it anke for diesel engines mini cooper d 1.6 year 2007 r56? price? thank you
I was told I can’t buy this for my Mini Cooper a on a 59 plate if I have a mass flow sensor is this correct
You can buy one with a MAF sensor
Can anyone help, my cooper s doesn’t seem to have a MAF sensor at all
Mee to.
How u repair it?
Any info on why use of this intake in colder climates voids warranty?
Any modifications to alter the engine, cooling components , suspension or transmission will always void your FACTORY warranty
Anyone else notice a decrease in Torque?
Me too, how u repair it?
same i have an 09 clubman will it fit?
Why does this sound different than the K&N? you cant hear the turbo or bov as much.
bad recording. its the same volume
Will this fit a 2011 jcw?
Why does it end at 2010?
