Setting up Velocidrone - YOU did it wrong! - Expert Settings & "Secrets"

- There are a lot of guides out there, that tell you how to setup Velocidrone. I found that a lot of them, however, tell you to do a lot of really bad settings.
Therefore I decided to make a complete in-depth "expert" settings guide and go through all the settings, that make a difference. You can also find a "secret" tip, that will help you to reduce stuttering, at the end of the video.
All the fast guys know about this stuff: You should know, too.
you made my day :) thank you, now it flys like real :) and one more thing, in my case I have wide screen and noticed that when I change windows resolution on same as velocidrone it flys litle better too
great to see some updated info on these setting..thanks man!
You're welcome! I hope this will help the people to go moa fasta :)
Great tutorial which was highly needed for a lot of people. Even I gone in this video with the tinking, that my settings will be almost the same, they wasnt at all. I tried to have everything low as possible, except things like cpu usage. Lets see if some of your settings work well on my potato machine.
im on a really crappy laptop and def noticed an increase in performance with these new settings :)
Thanks! I also started with everything as low as possible. But turned out, that super low is not super fast :) For potatos the priority thing at the end will probably help the most. People also often "kill" their machines with true lens and vsync. Now the hopefully know better :)
@@Lephro I use macbook so its not working right?
@@JS-rh6cs The only parts that are "windows-only" are the Control System Polling (first setting in the video) and the priority (at the end of the video). Anything else should be at least possible to set on a mac. The only thing you might run into, is that Macs often don't have enough power (GPU especially) to run Velocidrone with a good framerate (>200fps). Just try it and press F12 while ingame... you should see your FPS... try to decrease graphic settings until you get "enough" fps :)
Instant improvement, thank you! 👏
How to come up with the best rates? Can you make a video about this. Big thanks!
If you’re still posting, I am greatly struggling setting up my radiomaster Zorro, I only get about 20% throttle before the throttle and only the throttle is locked at like 60-80% throttle, it happens in every mode and with any axis. I’m so confused and frustrated thank you
Thank you!
Macs actually can set app priority, it's just got a different name & method (usually the case when it seems like OSX is missing a feature you want). It's set in terminal, and is a value called 'niceness' (as in: does the app play nice with others, or is it greedy for power). Linux command is also very similar. Fairly easy to find directions online, but it should be something like: sudo renice -n 20 -p
If you want to create a script like in the video, it is called a 'bash script' rather than a 'batch file' and will have to be worded differently. I can't remember the phrasing, as I haven't used mac in 5 years.
To avoid having to change the priority everytime you run Velocidrone, create a .bat file with the below script:
Start “Velocidrone” /High “C:\User
ame\Documents\Velocidrone\app\velocidrone.exe”
Note: this will bypass checking for updates. You will need to do that manually if there’s updates. I went further and added a desktop shortcut to the .bat file
There are also ways to set the priority permanently for a process (namely through the command prompt and or registry). That way you won't have to remember to launch the sim with a certain file and you also don't have to bypass the launcher. It shouldn't even get affected through updates (by using the power shell or registry method)
You can find a few examples here:
www.iseepassword.com/blog/how-to-permanently-set-process-priority-on-windows-10/
Hope it helps!
Thanks for sharing!
hey have you a suggested settings now that the latest updates for Velocidrone? cheers
I just got Velocidrone and my UI looks completely different. It's purplish and.... not very impressive. Anyone know what the deal is?
The video is made before the UI got updated. The options are still in the same place. I will probably do an updated one in the near future.
Have you used the recent update yet? Any thoughts on it? Are there any changes in your settings compared to before the update?
Hey,... in terms of settings not much have changed. You now have more control over the shadows, but the settings overall didnt change.
@@Lephro All right, thanks. BTW these settings rock! Really like the way that it feels now :)
amazing
How do you turn off the random camera glitches?
There is a VTX Noise Setting in the General Settings of Velocidrone. Turn it all the way down and your picture should stay clean.
@@Lephro Thank you very much!
Just installed Velocidrone last night. Why does my UI look completely different (much more basic)?
My video is made on the old UI. All the settings should be the same,... it just looks a bit different.
@@Lephro good god, the new UI looks so old and dated, this UI was much better😟
Could you also make a video about rates man? Very helpful
Sure! Good idea. But I'll probably wait with that until the next velocidrone update, which will include all rate systems. Then I can also explain, why the new Actual Rates of BF4.2 are so good :)
@@Lephro please can you do realistic drone rates for the Dji fpv drone I subscribe man please I’m begging u🙏🙏😂😂
Hello is there any way to change mode in velocidrone or we have to change it in transmitter itself.
Edit also can you pls tell me if flysky fs sm 600 is supported in velocidrone? By default it works in mode 2. Can I change it ?
The FlySky should be supported without any problems. You can change the mode in the options of Velocidrone, if your radio is in a different mode. The settings in Velocidrone only regard the view of the sticks in Velocidrone. If you want to have a different mode on your radio, than you have to swap the gimbals accordingly.
Mine feels drifty too much momentum all of a sudden. Whats wrong?
Thats hard to say. The 5146 props are basically "high performance" props, which come with a lot of speed, that also increases the momentum. If you've been flying e.g. 5141 before, you will probably feel more drift and momentum, which is normal. Countering the momentum in the right way (with preturning etc.) becomes much more important and something you will essentialy have to learn and get used to.
Make sure that your fps are high - if possible above 200 or higher. Higher FPS will give you better results in general. You can check the FPS by pressing F12.
Not sure, i think its a bug, i got another similar quad and saved the same settings and rates. still the other one feels way way different. Not sure whats going on.. im using a different quad now... i used to use the little bastard... but that one is the quad in question
Please add subtitles. Google thinks you speak Dutch
I will make a new video after the next big patch of velocidrone (in a few weeks). I'm gonna make sure to add subtitels then :)
My problem is which of the stock quads to pick to fly... they all seem awful and I'm unfamiliar with all of them. In Liftoff I have my custom quad tricked out and am totally use to it, but in Velocidrone I'm using whatever crap they setup and I just selected. The rest of the settings I have pretty much okay.
I fly Liftoff 98% of the time, and Velocidrone 2% of the time, so you can guess from that which one I think just feels better. I mean Velocidrone's not bad, there is one Coastal HDR map I like, but the crash model is not polished and all the low res maps with bad textures just need to be thrown away or redone.
Buy a copy of Process Lasso, you won't have to change it to high priority everytime.
Also, your power scheme has a major affect on perfomrance... if you have it on Power Saver power scheme you may experience stuttering... set it at Balanced or I use Process Lasso to notch it up to High Performance 100% if my Video Editing software is running, but set it to Balnaced all other times which I then restrict to 85% max CPU all the time. Velocidrone and Liftoff use about 65% cpu on my FX-8350 so that's plenty of headroom and keeps the computer from running at 100% while playing, which lets the water cooler fan run a bit slower when you're gaming for hours. Seems counter intuitive, but yeah, 85% max cpu for Velocidrone and Liftoff on my CPU, but 100% only when the video rendering software is running. Watch your task manager to guagehow much you need if you want to tweak th ings out to that level.
With Process Lasso I can set a bunch of other processes to automatically default to below normal or Idle.. things like GoogleUpdate and Wordpad or Print Spooler... Idle...
Not required. I can tell u r into gaming by your mention of water cooling fans. Whilst u r right to max out the fps, none of your tips are useful to the normal user. If your machine has enough headroom u r good.
If u have a low spec pc then there are settings in game that u can use to turn the load down on CPU and GPU.
@@timn4481 I actually make gaming videos of Liftoff and Velocidrone, at highest settings. My main problem is that nobody wants to watching gaming videos of either game, no matter h ow much I try to spruce them up. The Beat Saber girls are destroying my a55 for views. 1,000,000 views per Beat saber video versus... my 100 views per LIftoff or Velocidrone video.
There seems to be nothing i can do about it... the sizzle of the variety of home brew VR Beat Saber games plus watching a girl wiggle her but on camera... Velocidrone and Liftoff can't even compete.

Out of nearly 10.000 people, youre the only one complaining. Iam using a Soundblaster Z with a ModMic v2. Thats quite good gear. Are you sure that your ..oundcard ....s ....k ? :D
i use this script in my batch file: Start "Velocidrone" /High "C:\Users\'your username here'\Documents\Velocidrone\app\velocidrone.exe"
