Vince Gill and Patty Loveless did this at George Jones funeral, its on you tube, I bawled all the way thru it. Vince is a humble man that loves with his whole heart, and he loved George Jones.
I still remember him and Patty Loveless doing this at George Jones' funeral service, and bawling like a baby.😕 He could hardly get through it because he was pretty close to George, but Patty was there to give him support and pick up the vocals when he couldn't get it out. Probably one of the most emotional songs Vince has ever written... and one of the best! Great review man, keep 'em coming!🎼😁👍👍
I too remember that performance. I was at the brink of tears when Vince broke down...but when they showed Mr. George Jones's widow and family lose it...the damn broke for me and I lost it emotionally!! I Was Gone!!!😭😭😭😭😭

Vince Gill wrote it and the original video had backups of Ricky Skaggs and Patty Lovelace. All three of the above artists are some of the best country music and gospel music have to offer.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this. I am in Australia and a great friend (who came from Texas) passed away TOO Young. It was played at his funeral. The first cord makes we cry like a baby. It takes me back to that day is a second. Sad day. But all the best memories of my mate come flooding back as well. Thank you Vince Gill for an amazing healing song.
Good morning brother blessed Sunday to you! I just discovered you about an hour ago and I had to hook you up to my Roku so that I could watch your face and your reactions. This performance is a gift from God. As I mentioned earlier, R&B, soul and gospel has always been my first love but every now and then you encounter a song that makes you stop dead in your tracks. Such as the case for this song. I absolutely insist once again that you listen to the recorded version of this song so as to appreciate the nuances in it because it is so crisp and clear and angelic. He couldn't have chosen a more perfect person to sing this live performance with him as far as Alison Krauss is concerned. She is a gifted harmonizer. I would like to share with you my personal story of this song. I lost my only brother DJ on January 4th of 2004. My brother and I were Die Hard music lovers and we spent many an hour singing together. Much the same as Vince Gill's brother, my brother's life was equally as troubled as a direct result of the lives we grew up having. At the time of my brother's passing, he was incarcerated for a $10.52 check of which he spent 17 years of his life. My brother was a beautiful person and he was very very talented and brilliant but my brother was an IV drug user. My brother as a result of his drug use had contracted HIV AIDS as a direct result of having shared a needle with a fellow user. My brother survived 10 years HIV positive and he probably wouldn't have lived that long had he not been incarcerated and had regular Medical Care. In the wee hours of January 4th 2004 my brother suffered and esophageal hemorrhage while incarcerated. Sadly, my brother's life was not valuable to the authorities of that prison and instead of flying him to a hospital that could have otherwise treated him they languished while my brother bled to death. Oh, they did eventually take him to the hospital where he only lived a short time but my mother and his 12 year old daughter were present for his actual death. This was my mother's only son and I'm sure you can imagine her broken heart. I made it within 11 miles of the hospital only to receive word that my brother had passed. As I reflect upon this, I am thankful that the Lord did not allow me to witness his actual passing because just the thought of it breaks my heart. When I think of my brother, I choose to think of him singing a song like this but instead when I sing it, I sing it towards the Heavens, where I know he finally rests in peace. I don't know if you ever really get the opportunity to read all the messages that are left behind for you but in the event that you do I hope that my truth touches your soul and that you say a prayer for my brother DJ. I thank you for the privilege of your time.
Vince Gill doesn't get enough recognition for his talent as both a singer and an amazing guitarist. Played this song at my Dad and Brother's funerals...it will always have a special place in my heart. All 3 of these artists are amazingly talented with strong roots in bluegrass and gospel. This song will always bring a tear to my eye.
He is also one ofnthe baddest men behind a guitar. Dude can slam live. .....I will also say this is three of the best instrumentalists in country music

When I saw that you were reacting to this song, I had to listen, This was played at my son's memorial on December 5, 2020. He was 50 yrs old, he died of a blood cancer. As a man of great faith, he now walks with Jesus.
"Go to Heaven a-shoutin', Love for the Father and the Son" those words always make me cry. I saw recently that he performed it at a funeral with Patty Lovelass and he was so over come with grief he couldn't continue, and she carried him. I can't recall the country singer who passed but he had requested this song by Vince to be sung. Wonderful, powerful music. I see from other comments it was George Jones' funeral.
The lines "You weren't afraid to face the devil. You were no stranger to the rain" refer to the Keith Whitley song titled I'm No Stranger to the Rain. Vince Gill’s original version was released just after my dear friend committed suicide. “I know your life on earth was troubled, only you could know the pain.” It was as if that line was written for him.
I love you man... New subscriber after watching this video. My 26 year old USMC cousin passed away unexpectedly a few weeks ago and they played this last Sunday at his funeral. Thank you for this!
There are many that say, and I'm one of them, that the "tingly feeling in the crown of your head" is The Comforter (The Holy Spirit) letting you know that He is there with you. My brother took his own life when he was 46 - about 17 years ago - None of us saw it coming, and it devastated my life for awhile. But to this day, I have a very hard time making it to the end of this song. One of the most beautiful, & meaningful, Inspired songs ever written. And yes.... you can't beat the precision, spot on harmony of these three. It's almost like they are blood brothers & sisters - some of the Best harmony always seems to come from blood family members..... I'm a fairly new listener and subscriber to your channel, but out of about 30 or so channels that I follow, your channel quickly migrated to the top of my list. Thank you for what you do...... Danny
Hey Ty. Just want you to know how much you mean to me. I enjoy watching your reactions. I found reaction videos after COVID began and you are one of the first people I watched and you are still one of my favorites. This is one of my favorite songs and these 3 singers are just amazing. I just knew I would see you do “the head grab” on this one. Love your heart Ty! God bless you for all the goodness you bring to all of us. ❤️❤️❤️
Watching younger people take the time to listen and expand their love for music is Precious ..... you made my 💜 smile sweetheart! May God Bless and keep you safe always! 👏👏🎶🎶🙏 Amen
So glad that you saw this song. ❤️ It brought me great comfort during the loss of my father and my sister and Nanny. We love Vince Gill so it made the song especially important.
@@Modern-Renaissance-Man Thank you! God has givin me purpose and strength raising our son who is now 14. And I keep faith knowing we will be together in heaven.
It was my Dad's favorite song. Cancer took him very quick. My Dad had a full military funeral and this song was played at his funeral as his casket was being lowered down.
It's just amazing you've never heard of Vince Gill. In his prime he was one of the most amazing tenors I have ever heard sing. You should check out some of his earlier songs. He did a lot of slow, romantic stuff - "Look At Us", "Whenever You Come Around", "Never Knew Lonely", "When I Call Your Name"
I played that for my brother right after he died, put the phone right beside his ear. It almost put me in the floor when I saw a teardrop slide out of his right eye.
S Hunt not just in the South. Huge request in the Midwest as well. Played it at my dad’s funeral as well as my stepfather’s and many others. Absolutely a beautiful song.
You hit it right on the head the most special thing about this video is the vocal harmony these three are some of the best in all Country Music ever. You should also hear Vince alone whit his guitar solo its a "voice" that will make you weep.
💥💥💥💥 Vince Gill released this song in 1995. He started writing it yrs b4 when his friend Keith Whitley died in 1989...it wasn't til 1993 that he finished writing it after the death of his brother Bob. The Amt of times it has been sung at funerals is almost uncountable....he cud not of conveyed his feeling any better 4 his loved ones, than he did w/this song. EVERYONE can relate There r NO words that will suffice .... RESPECT and then some. Yr vids btw r awesome. U have one of the sweetest, sexiest smiles out there dude. Another great song he sang is "HOUSE OF LOVE" that he did w/his now wife Amy Grant. The 1st time I saw and heard this song I wud have sworn that they were married, or at least a couple This song was written by Amy not Vince Vince Gill is VERY respected in the music industry...a true gentleman and scholar... He writes such great songs and is a wonderful storyteller....when u have the time listen 2 "house of cards". Your ears will b blessed. Stay well Stay safe Be at peace Fr across the waters Canada 🇨🇦 🐥🐥🐥hugs and all that jazz
I cannot listen to this song without squawling my eyes out because it was the first song they played at my father's funeral. It caught me offguard when the curtains from our family side opened and this song started playing and there lay my father. I totally lost it. I still miss him today. I love you daddy, always did, always will. Till we meet again one day...love your only daughter, Linda.
Vince started writing this song after his friend Keith Whitley passed from alcohol poisoning. The line "no stranger to the rain" is the title for Keith's song. Soon after, his brother passed. Keith was from my tiny hometown of Sandy Hook, Kentucky. Ricky Skaggs is from the next county over. He and Keith played together when they were first starting out.

Serious respect for you. Your responses are genuine and respectful. I just watched you listen to Chris Stapleton and Vince Gill, admitting you've never heard of them. While they are "Mozarts" to those of us who listen to bluegrass, I am happy and moved that you like what you're hearing. You won't like all of country, bluegrass, Chris, Vince, Alison or Ricky but keep testing the waters. You'll find deeply modest people who have amazing gifts for music. Keep up the great work. You are a genuine guy.
I really appreciate your channel and reactions to the songs I have as mementos and memories throughout my life ... songs most people now days do not know or have ever heard of .. I miss the days when most song lyrics had a story, depth and meaning .. not just Country also Rock and Pop R&B Blues Motown all of it .. people then didn't have to be glamorous or flashy or have media hype .. they just sang their asses off with feeling .. a rare thing now days~

I lost my big brother two year ago now, and I'm almost 40 and I'm still not strong enough to get trough a day without thinking about him and missing him. This song helps me every day. I just pray it's true, and I'll see him again and be able to talk to him once more. We have so much to catch up on. I didn't know, as most don't, that brothers have a bond that is indescribable, as I'm sure sisters do too. That's what I miss the most, and wish more than anything to get back. I always took him for granted and thought the he would always be there for me, as he always had been. Until the day I got the call that he was gone. This song really is one of the few that helps ease the pain, if only for a short time. Thank you Mr. Gill.
You never heard of Vince Gill? He's a legend! This song is a killer in so many ways, but he also has other hits too. I love you man... New subscriber after watching this video. My 26 year old USMC cousin passed away unexpectedly a few weeks ago and they played this last Sunday at his funeral. Thank you for this!
Vince Gill, Ricky Skaggs, and Alison Krauss are all country music royalty.
Yes
Eugene Grewing Ricky is the Bluegrass King! And his band Kentucky Thunder, no words!
Jim Chumley I like Union Station too
Yes, Bluegrass royalty!
@@eugenegrewing2587 I wouldn't want to have to pick between the two. Awesome bands both.
Vince Gill is the best in concert. I just love Vince.
Danny
Sorry for your loss and thank you for sharing that with us
Blessings to you and yours. 🙏
Bless you.
Vince Gill, Pocket Full Of Gold a great song with a strong message behind it
My all time favorite reaction from you. This song like Amazing Grace touches us to our core
I love this song. I played it at my husband's funeral. Rip CD 2006. Love you forever
So sorry for your loss. I hope and pray you're doing well.
@@Modern-Renaissance-Man Thank you! God has givin me purpose and strength raising our son who is now 14. And I keep faith knowing we will be together in heaven.
Sorry for you lose. I lost my wife in 2012 and every time I hear this song I think of her. And cry :(
It was my Dad's favorite song.
Thank you. I laid my dad to rest to this song he loved this song and it breaks my heart every time I hear it. Keep up the good work and bless you
My brother died unexpectedly yesterday. This song came to mind immediately. I am so very pleased that you chose it. God Bless.
This song is requested at a lot of funerals in the South.
I was sang at my daddy's funeral.
My Dad's too
I played that for my brother right after he died, put the phone right beside his ear. It almost put me in the floor when I saw a teardrop slide out of his right eye.
This song will be played at my funeral one day along with Rhiannon Giddens version of Wayfaring Stranger
I get the feels EVERY TIME I hear it. We had it played at my father’s funeral. Thank you for this
I bawl like a baby every time I hear this song. I have lost 2 brothers and this song rips me to pieces!!!
Just gorgeous! My friend Sherry and I used to sing this. Just beautiful.
You had the same reaction everyone has to this song. It is beautiful.
EVERYONE can relate
There r NO words that will suffice .... RESPECT and then some.
Yr vids btw r awesome.
U have one of the sweetest, sexiest smiles out there dude.
Another great song he sang is "HOUSE OF LOVE" that he did w/his now wife Amy Grant. The 1st time I saw and heard this song I wud have sworn that they were married, or at least a couple This song was written by Amy not Vince
Vince Gill is VERY respected in the music industry...a true gentleman and scholar...
He writes such great songs and is a wonderful storyteller....when u have the time listen 2 "house of cards". Your ears will b blessed.
Stay well
Stay safe
Be at peace

This song was playing at my dad's passing chocked me up then and every time i here it
I cannot listen to this song without squawling my eyes out because it was the first song they played at my father's funeral.
I still get goosebumps when I hear this song. Love Vince Gill .love all of them
RUclips put you on my suggestions...and I'm glad...so glad it did. I was feeling very down lately, and just watching your videos, with your sweet commentary and then the song choices...dear Lord, the first 3 songs i came across, Dolly, Randy & Vince Gill...just...thank you so much...i needed this. I'll be binge watching your video reactions for the night. 💗 -Jay
Welcome. be sure to check out my other videos with me responding to subscribers. And if you want to laugh check out my video called "evil labradoodle" I did this with my dog but I think you'll get a kick out it.
@@Modern-Renaissance-Man oh I'm on it! I'm on a mission now to binge watch 😊
Please check out any of Lauren Daigle's new album...just amazing, amazing voice and lyrics of her journey with God through life. 💗
This is one of Lauren's (Daigle) new ones that is just phenomenal...it's called "Look Up Child" ... BUT...all of her songs on this new album are amazing...this is just one, and not even the one that is my favorite, but one the Lord laid upon my heart to share (and he always knows why, i just obey, I'm just his tool to use), so here it is...let me know what you think 😉 ... ruclips.net/video/56uSOVEV0mY/видео.html
A master guitarist and mandolin player on stage together. Fabulous. Love Alison, too.
Beautiful!!! May god bless all of those suffering with loss and all the weary and troubled with peace in their soul. Much love! Thank you for sharing. 💜🙏⚘
This song was played at my Grandfather's funeral, in 2002. Every time I hear this tune, it reminds me of him. Thank you.
When Glenn Frey of the Eagles died, they brought Vince Gill on tour with them to sing some of Glenn's songs.
Everyone in the music buzz always want Vince Gill to harmonize in their records! Look up Vince Gill in all the songs he's in. Beautiful and one of my fav voices! You'll be rubbing your head! 😄
He sang this at George Jones funeral....at least tried to. He was so emotional.
Yes, he did the best he could... It took him 13+ minutes to get through the song in honor of the late, George Jones. He earned a standing ovation.
I watched that service and cried like a baby
To me that performance was one of his best!! I've watched it probley 50 times or more since that day..
I cried like a baby to this performance !
Killed me when he sang this for George Jones aka The Possum, the original king of country music.
The voice of a Angel
I really appreciate your channel and reactions to the songs I have as mementos and memories throughout my life ... songs most people now days do not know or have ever heard of .. I miss the days when most song lyrics had a story, depth and meaning .. not just Country also Rock and Pop R&B Blues Motown all of it .. people then didn't have to be glamorous or flashy or have media hype .. they just sang their asses off with feeling .. a rare thing now days~
Played this at my brother's funeral in February of this year . Felt like it was written for him. He couldn't find peace here on earth and we hope he's now found it in heaven ❤️ 😪😪
Vince sang this at George Jones' funeral, and I believe this same lady sang with him, but he cried so much that he couldn't make it through the whole song by himself........it would make you cry........My Mom got to meet him back stage at one of his concerts.......and took a picture with him.......he's her all time favorite.....she's got that picture where she can see it every day~~~~~~
Patty Loveless.
I absolutely love this song. Great reaction.
This was played at my sons memorial service in Decemder 2000. He died of s blood cancer. Loved the Lord, so I will see him one day. Home Free does a beautiful version also.
This songs brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it.
Loves Vince Gill..Loves this song, Only Vince can sing this...Extremely Outstanding.....I plays this often.....wish he would sing more Gospel.....🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽🖐🏽👐🏿👐🏿
I was just going to recommend this to you. Awesome!
I've never been a fan of country music. But this song. Wow, so beautiful and heartfelt. My arm hairs always stand up when they harmonize.
OMGGG I NEVER SEEN ANYONE REACT TO VINCE GILL ♡ I love this. I wish you could of done this video version or studio.. the music is beautiful. I love this song regardless but the video has the better version honestly, the vocals are GREAT both ways. 💕
This is one of my favourite songs. I love everything about it;the music, the voices and harmony’s and the lyrics. It’s a beautiful package.
His voice is awesome, so smooth
He's a master guitar picker, so not only is he a great singer, but one of the greats of guitar playing. Hope your finger slides towards one of my requests soon. I look forward to hearing what you think of Gary Allen and Diamond Rio! (If you like monster harmony, Diamond Rio is gonna impress you a lot!)
Silverblade Dagger Yes!! Diamond Rio is such a great band and freakin’ hit machine! My favorites from them are In a Week or Two, I Believe, One More Day, Walkin’ Away, and of course Meet in the Middle!!
Not a legend to everyone..
Silverblade Dagger Yes hes the man!
Silverblade Dagger ~ Look up Pure Prairie League...the sing Aimee! Lead singer, blew my mind! Here it is: ruclips.net/video/Wrmrjx66_T8/видео.html

Ty, I lost my mom the 24th of October 4 years ago on my way to work at 5:05in the morning , and I grew up with a Bababtist preacher for a grampaw , I dont show my feelings at all when it comes to crying , but this song takes me Way back to when we used to have funerals at my grand parents house. This song tares me up everytime I Hear or sing it . Thank you . I need a Good cry every now and then.
Oh my goodness... the way you love music I can’t believe you haven’t heard of Vince Gill. He’s absolutely one of the best! Listen to more.
This was played at my mom's funeral. Beautiful! Vince Gill is good ole country boy, big heart? ❤️
This song get's me every time, played it at my brother and father's funeral
❤️❤️ I get those chills every time I hear him sing this song. He has such a beautiful voice.. when you add the other two beautiful voices to his just raises to another level.
This song played at my family funeral on my dad side my dad , my 2 brothers , my sisters, my nephew, my nieces funerals this song mind me what they went through
My daddy was a Mountain man from the Smoky Mountains in TN. He passed in 2002 in his sleep from CHF. I had never heard this then but my bil sang it at my dads service. It never fails to touch me.
Vince Gill is married to Amy Grant who was a Christian singer back in the 80's. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you look up Amy Grant "sing your praise to the Lord" !! It's an awesome song!!! I think you would love it! It has a long piano bit in the beginning that builds up to this beautiful song!! 😍😍
I know all her songs but thanks. She was a big hit in the 90's too
Heard this song for years and each time it still makes goose bumps.
I just requested this! Thank you!
Vince Gill great singer. Another singer that has been thru alot. He wrote this about his brother that passed.

How about Remind Me Who I Am by Jason Gray. Or With Every Act of Love. Better yet, a two-fer ! ☮💗
Scott O'Hanlon second!
This is such a beautiful song. I love ❤️ the harmonies in this song. I’ve always told my family that I want this song played at my funeral.
Never stop praying for us all. Broken, destroyed hearts, we need it.
I’ve known this song for years and every time I hear it, I can’t resist singing that harmony! It is indeed beautiful!
Those harmonies are so tight.. Vince is the guitar slayer, he's awesome. Check out Diamond Rio, " bubba hyde" or " one more day".. one is fun, one is more serious ❤
Nikki Platt One More Day!! Yes!!! So beautiful!!
Vince has the voice of an angel. All three are music icons. My husband and I have loved them all for many years.
I was excited to see this video! I commented before I even watched it. I love this song so much. Also I have a song request. "The Call" by Matt Kennon. I think you'd appreciate the lesson it teaches
great song, I second that one!
@@cowtowncustoms2110 Thanks! I think he'd love it because he's all about helping people and being supportive
