I regard us fortunate you are a reporter stationed in Moscow - though a fine career as a musician is lost. Thank you - to me you represent the best of British and of freedom 💚🌻
Thank you Steve. Brilliant. I remember listening to Johnnie on a Tuesday Lunchtime listening to the new Top 20 when on holiday from school. I was born in March 1963 so was a kid of the 1970s and I really loved listening to Johnnie's Sounds of the Seventies on a Sunday Afternoon.
I was listening to Johnnie as I got ready for school, and was listening to him as I recently prepared to Retire. What an amazing career ! Many thanks for all the reports from russia. Let us pray that you're not reporting on war for much longer. Regards, Andy H
Thank you Steve for your touching Johnnie Walker choice tribute - hugely treasured by his family, friends, colleagues and loyal listeners. So nice to hear the warm words from Tony Blackburn, his conspirator on those pre-BBC, Pirate Radio revolutionary days! Sad to reflect that Steve Wright and Annie Nightingale, all legendary BBC broadcasters, leaving their mic for heaven above last year. Happy New Year to you and mercifully, YOU keep on being a living, unique, broadcasting phenomenon throughout 2025!
What a fabulous man you are thankyou so much for a wonderful tribute.Misty eyed here, you've conveyed so much in 2mins 39 secs than words could ever express
Don’t know you. Did not know this radio personality. I am happy I watched you video I will spend some time and read about this guy. Thumbs up your video Blessing for you and your family
The song I most associate with Johnnie when he had his lunchtime radio one show in the early 70s was The Joker by Steve Miller Band. He played it years before it became a hit and was so unusual at the time, a great record that has stood the test of time. 😎 RIP Johnnie. Happy New Year to you Steve, stay safe! Love to Valentina, I miss her Kiosk tales! 💖🌹💐🥰🎊
Steve, thanks for this tribute, and thanks for your reporting from Russia. So many people admire your work. Happy New Year!
