  • Many fans have expressed distaste in the fact that Harry is shown at a train station, saying it would make more sense for him to be mourning Sirius while still at the Dursleys'. But, wait! It actually makes total sense! Harry was feeling sad after the loss of Sirius, but he needed to take his mind off things and what better way than to do something he loves? That's right, Harry loved riding trains, and it was a great way for him to forget his worries and think about something else. And don't forget, Harry was going to permanently leave the Dursleys after his 17th birthday, which was when he came of age and his mother's protective charm would be lifted. So, the train station scene is a nod to the book, and a great way for Harry to cope with his loss and enjoy something he loved.

I have never heard anyone get upset about this. People grieve differently so I don't get why anyone was outraged if it deserves a video contesting it

He said in the film, I like riding trains. It takes my mind off things. I think sometimes people aren’t listening to dialogue because many times it will tell you what you need to know. And there always seems to be people who have a problem, no matter what the film is. Nick pickers.

i guess it makes sense harry loves trains. one of his first experiences in the magical world was at the train station. he met his two best friends on a train, and he was able to escape the Dursleys for several months but riding a train.
but maybe its a simpler reason. Trains is probably one of the few things in the wizarding world that has so much power, so much work involved but normally doesnt need magic. Its a connecting force between Mogul and wizard.

Well everyone does grieve differently. And with the life Harry has had, it’s no surprise to me he would act this way.

His mother's protective charm would never be lifted. The bond of blood charm, which Dumbledore actually cast, would be lifted when he turned 17.

Is his live for trains bc of the Hogwarts express? Since the Dursleys never brought him anywhere that he could cause trouble, his first time being on a train is to a magic school, so it makes sense

Irrespective of the Grieving part, in my opinion the Train station scene was actually a good addition. That way the viewers get to see a lot more mundane Muggle-Magical interaction.

One might argue that it makes sense, but it is in no way a nod to the book.

I disagree with u cuz this scene was unnecessary and was not in the book. They also include that he stayed at the train station for the whole summer but in book he stayed at the dursleys. And worst of all, they showed a scene where Harry asks out a muggle girl.

If there is anger about this scene I think it has more to do with Harry trying to hookup with the black chick than hanging out on trains. The racists and bots just drown out the real fans.

Fans would be just as annoyed if he were hooking up with a white chick, or an Asian chick, or an Inuit chick. They don’t like seeing Harry as a hook-up artist.
Unless, of course, it’s with a ginger chick who reminds him of his mother. Or possibly his foster mother. Or both simultaneously.
