my husband said "bonsai for a giant maybe!" when he saw the opening... but it sure did have a gorgeous structure... I'm glad it got a second lease on life with you!
Trouble is that doing air layers as opposed to cutting the growth off will have more draw on the roots of the tree. Better to trim it back for better chance of survival in this case.
Mt word that's a beautiful one. If I had the money and bravery to but it and ship it to the states I'd snatch it up. That blue is so gorgeous. That sweep of the trunk. I really love bigger bonsai. It's just so beautiful and it hasn't gotten anywhere near refinement
Right on I wish I was able to see how much of the roots you took off of it. I have a couple blue atlas cedars that need to go into a bonsai pot but I'm a little gun shy due to everyone I've heard from saying they hate to have their roots messed with. No one shows an in-depth nursery to bonsai pot for my favorite tree!! Thanks for sharing so far this is the closest anyone has posted on the interwebs. Great piece of material! You scored!
@@greenwoodbonsaistudio great news, I love cedrus trees so seeing them as bonsai is great. This tree also looked like a challenge so it will be good to see what's happening with it 👍
@@gixxermaan I styled it last week and re potted it. But filmed it myself But will try to get a video edited together to show you what it’s like now. It’s on display at greenwood bonsai
@@greenwoodbonsaistudio sounds great 👍, one day I'd love to come up and see your collection of trees, always thought it looked like a great place to walk around and appreciate the work that you do up there.
Another great video, Corin. I'd be scared to death to reduce the size of the root ball on the blue cedar, but you made it look easy. And it looks great in its new pot
interesting to see the field maple, I have a big one of these, but its not yet in leaf and I see neither is yours . good news I was panicking a bit thought it was dead.
Yes sri pod very beautiful penalty because netflix doesn't pirates began ok bank class during biggest thing 😅no pirates netflix during pod see just loudly pod thank you for good advice kupchak 😂😂😂😂
It was only done 3 weeks ago. Its settling in well. No real update as its looks the same. We will probably update by video once I work on it late summer.
Yes, I could have , but felt it wouldn't add to the future design I have in mind. Keep your eye out for new video on this tree around late Sept hopefully, it is doing really well
Yeah sorry. Josh the camera man was off on Sunday and the tree had to be done. So I kinda recorded the second half. Mainly to show you the tree to begin with so I can follow up when I wire and style it.
Your mate Dave helping hold the pot is like Jason Statham if he retired from movies and joined Greenwood. Protects Corin and the trees with his life.
Y’all do amazing work an should be seen more on RUclips

Fingers crossed!
Wow what a great tree to work with! I would be air layering everything to have more "starts" and grow them out.

Breakfast with Greenwood Bonsai here in Australia 🇦🇺…. What a treat 🌲👩🏻🌾😬
I love bonsai, so exciting
Love the blue cedar...what a specimen to work on...sure it will look amazing

What a gorgeous tree! Can’t wait to see it again in the future. Glad it has a great new happy home. 🙌🏼🌲😁
That's pretty neat, looking forward to seeing more of this!
WoW!!
What a monster tree! 😳😲
Outstanding video. I'm amazed how a tree can live in such small confines and still thrive..
Ohh would love too see the repotting of that blue cedar!
I am excited to see what comes out of this tree! Keep up the great work mates! Cheers!
Great video and the nursery is looking fantastic at the end 👍
Interesting project! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
That things a beast should be interesting, thanks Corin
That’s incredible!
Can we do propagation grow the roots from that big cut trunks on 4:25 ? Kinda wasted if throw away that big trunks 😅
Thank You! very interesting
Wow, did not think a Bonsai tree could grow so bog in a pot. Interesting to see the size of the root system.
Would be good material for windswept style aswell
Another amazing project I look forward to seeing its journey with you 😜
Can’t wait to see what next
It's been doing very well, looking forward to working on it very soon !
An unusual specimen that mate.
Very nice! We'd love to know how much a personal sale of quality tree like that might run.
Très intéressant, merci!
Waiting for an update on this tree 👍
You won’t have to wait long 😁😁

Almost industrial bonsai, what a fabulous tree this will be in the future.

Its always risky with a blue atlas cedar, but I've worked on quite a few, but still keep my fingers crossed !
Beautiful tree Corin... could'nt be in better hands!! will be looking out for updates like 😁
Lovely tree Corin. Trying to find one of these myself. Just smaller haha
What type of saw is that? I think I need one 😂
Bosch nano chainsaw

My young coarse ones are bidding out but the more developed stuff is showing a slight hint on its lowest bud.
Just a reminder dead is if u scrape the bark and its not green underneath then u got a prob. Some trees take some time to show signs of life
Niwaki i thing it is called when a bonsai is big and planted in the ground
What did you pay for the material?
Hobby bonsai.

Update ?

You could've made a jin out that big branch instead of cutting it so drastically.

Out of interest, how much did the tree cost?
£3.27
👍👌👌🙂🙂
BRAVO USA
no day off please you have to show the repot
