    I've been in the hormone/prohormone game for years. It took me a long, long, time to understand it all both for men and women. Though I'm not sure anybody understands everything. This was a VERY good collaboration! One takeaway that I hope people understand is that once one introduces synthetic hormones into the body, natural production changes. The body and it's glans will take, what I call a vacation if those processes are no longer seen by the body as "needed". Now, that being said, some of us need that due to aging or previous hormone abuse. It's a tricky game and a tricky balance. Done properly, it can help with degenerative decline and improve quality of life. Done incorrectly, it's an early death.

    So I’ve felt terrible and went to a naturopathic dr here in Az. My blood work came back as low testosterone.... severe adrenal insufficiency at 1.2.... thyroid critically low also with low dhea etc. My dr just started me on dhea 12.5 2x a day .... pregnenolone 30mg 2x a day..... Thorne cortex and Np thyroid 1/2 grain. Just seems like a lot and I feel super anxious. It’s so hard to find a good natural knowledgeable dr ..... but I just want to feel better .... can’t lose weight 46 yrs old. I sure hope this works!!!

    So what do you do with really high cortisol ( like 19.3 morning and a mild dip with peak at night), low dhea 2.4, high testosterone 74, high estrogen 1.9 and normal progesterone (57) in a 53 year old female with chronic stress and fatigue. Eats well, exercises daily:

    • @LAMCLINIC
      @LAMCLINIC  Год назад +4

      It's clear that your hormone levels are showing a complex interplay. The high cortisol and low DHEA suggest potential adrenal issues due to chronic stress. Elevated testosterone and estrogen could also be contributing to your symptoms. To address this, we'd focus on stress management techniques, lifestyle adjustments, and potentially targeted supplements to support hormone balance. If a male patient is on TRT and experiencing testicular atrophy, would topical DHEA or topical pregnenolone be effective to prevent this?
    I tried oral pregnenolone didn't do anything.
    I tried very low topical progesterone and it aggregated gyno.
    Any recommendations? Also, any particular testing to accurate assess where in the hormonal cascade there may be blockages or insufficiency conversions?
    Does any hepatic impairment cause problems in steroidal conversions?

    • @LAMCLINIC
      @LAMCLINIC  8 месяцев назад +1

      It's true, accessing hormone tests can sometimes be challenging. In the absence of direct measurements, starting with conservative doses of DHEA and Pregnenolone is a reasonable approach to support hormonal balance. Keep an eye on how your body responds and adjust accordingly.

    I've been using natural pregnenolone cream,for about 5yrs...( I'm 48 now and we'll into peri-menopause),..i found that it raises my oestrogen, which is what I need a bit of help with. I only use a v low dose..about 3-5mg at most, daily(but i don't take any breaks from using it. Occasionally a day maybe.)... I didn't know, when I started using it, that it could mess up my HPA,(tho some sources say that it doesn't do that) and maybe make things worse in long-run. I don't know if,and to what extent it has. But I have quite severe adrenal insufficiency..getting worse each year. Maybe I should just switch to using an estrogen cream,instead? But I'm worried about if my adrenals r now dependent on the pregnenolone cream, as it were. Do u think at this low dose it's still possible?
    Could u advise me at all...and not direct me to phone ur team, as i cant. Thanks

    • @drlam

      It's not safe to just on hormone cream without being followed by a provider to check your levels. Especially estrogen cream, don't do it by itself. Try to help the adrenals in order to help your hormones. You need a comprehensive approach.

      You need to use dhea and pregnenalone not just one. Use a micronized pill version or sublingual. Start low on each with a 2 to 1 ratio so for example if u do 2 mg dhea then 1mg preg or 5mg dhea then 2.5mg pregnenalone. Dhea n preg should Def help recover n balance adrenal function. Try dhea first thing in the morning n preg b4 bed.
