I don't look forward to Christmas anymore I only look forward to loads of Elias keys content
15’ in the winter is an excellent depth when near hard bottom. Jigs tpped with shrimp will catch anything. Big fish not on the rock on grass next to it.
Those big mutton like to sit on the periphery of the structure out on the sand and usually chill out there
Man I just left the keys two weeks ago after dealing with 15-25 mph winds. So nice to see the water so calm and glad you slayed some fish. Tight lines
The wind is a given in the late fall and winter unfortunately. I very much enjoy the keys but at $250+ a night at a hotel it's a hard sell for me. That and you may get 2-3 fishable days out of 5. I want to get down there in April or early Oct.
The bottom of a coffee mug makes a decent ceramic knife sharpener and they’re found just about everywhere.
Smaller the better during the winter
When you do keep Grouper don't forget to remove the cheeks, such an amazing flavor.
Will be down there late Feb for two months. Thanks for the tease. Can’t wait!
Great video, Elias....Catching and releasing red grouper, Muttons and Yellowtails non-stop is a heck of a way to ring in the new year. Tight lines!
It sure is!
Another great day in the water!!!!!
Another awesome video, keys are so sweet. Those yellow tails are great eating.
They are!
Those ceros are great sashimi, my favorite
The fish you questioned was an almaco jack.
The lizard king! Jim Morrison lol
Happy new year Elias, I enjoy your watching your videos.
“Extra amateur hours” 😂 came out pretty decent to me! Good job man 🤙🏼🤙🏼
Great fishing Elias… a suggestion… careful on keeping exact legal sizes. The fish will shrink by the time you get to shore and if FWC check you on the beach, expect a “welcome to Florida” ticket. Always a good idea to keep fish one or two inches over the legal size to avoid a situation. Hope you and Meg enjoy your vacation and let her catch some of those fish! 😊
Heck of a day!
Try the yellow jack as sashimi. It's great.
I’ll be coming down to Key West in Feb I can’t wait to do some 7 mile bridge fishing.
cero mackerel ,sierra pacific
14:20 Bluefish
We stay in key colony Beach every year for a week in July, the fishing is awesome all around marathon!!! We hit all the bridges and beaches and the marathon lady!!@
Yes! Elias catching (a lot) and cook (kinda)!
Great video, good to see a consistent bite. Looked like it was great fun.
Cheers
Thanks 👍
Very entertaining videos in the keys - great job!
Sierra mackerel and Spanish mackerel are the same. Cero mackerel is the one you caught and you are right it is better eating than Spanish in my opinion.
Lane snapper only have to be 8 inches! Love the keys content
Enjoyed the multi species fishing. Much better then straight red drum or sheepshead and black drum. Thanks
You are doin better than many do.
I’m quite sure that you are rockin them much better then your average googan.
Man, I miss the Key's!! So much fun
A happy and succesfull new year for you and your beauty. Regards out of Latvia.
Great work, thank you for sharing
Thanks for watching!
Great videos...Happy New Years!
Enjoyed the content Brother 👊🏽👊🏽👊🏽👊🏽👊🏽👊🏽
Man this is amazing I want to live in FL keys
A great start to the New Year ... and no Sharks! ( so far ) Thanks for the tip about icing the catch down there.
Oh they came…
The fish that broke you off on the troll was probably a black grouper. Trolling repalas through patch reefs are among my favorite ways to target them down there.
Man, I hate breaking off expensive stick baits. Great content!👍
I’ve only had cero once, but i agree…It is by far the best of the mackerel species! Great vid as always. Happy New Year to you and Meg!
You ought to collab with Key West Waterman while your down there. Two cool channels.
Thanks for a great beginning to the New Year 🎉
Happy new year Elias! Love your vids.
Happy new year!
I just bought a Minnkota Riptide 45 motor
Almaco maybe? Great video as always.
Happy New Year!
A 12" lane snapper is huge. They are only required to be 8".
Great video again. Happy New Year to you and your family.
laine snapper have to be 8🤣 that one you caught was a stud
I was very happy to see your video, about fishing, be careful, friend, because the boat you are using is too small...👍👍
I think I know where all the fish went! It's been pretty sparse out of Cape Canaveral except for mangrove snapper and donkey sheepshead on the reefs. Not complaining though, I'll take some eater size sheepshead. Can't forget the spinner shark that almost jumped in my boat 😂
Great fishing again pal.Have you tried Burdines for a meal ? Outstanding. 😊
WTG! Excellent commentary,,, specially like it when you give us the size & limits of each species that you are catching.
So many species in the same area. 1 mile off shore? What was the water depth? One would think that there would be some huge predators around,,, for that accidental drag screaming hookup.
Snow-on-the-ground up here,,,,, wishing we were there!
Happy New Year. Play Safe, & THANKS for another good one.
15-20'
Happy New Year 🎊🎈. Great Video😊
Nice job bro...looks like your at the Coco Plumb, my favorite place to stay in the keys!
I get such a charge when you say you're a googan at anything requiring a fishing rod. Damn, Elias, you could catch fish in a rain barrel.
Hi Meg! Looks like he's feeding you well.
Nice! Love the eating parts! Happy New Year!
Happy new year
Time to move to the keys brother 😂
Quick knife sharpening hack, bottom of a everyday ceramic coffee cup with the rough bottom makes a great sharpening stone.
Yo happy new year, my brother and I was fishing on 7 mile bridge and we saw you go by wanted to say hi but wasn't sure if you would hear me lol
I absolutely love your approach to fishing 🎣 I live on Florida’s west coast and I e learned a ton from you! I fish inshore mangrove islands exclusively in a canoe and was wondering what size Dakota Lithium battery use. I am definitely getting one for my canoe. 🛶 I don’t want to get caught by another rogue storm and not be able to get back in time. Thanks for your videos and the great content. I love you channel!
Noiceeeee!!! Another vid let’s goo
My two cents...I can't tell a difference between Spanish and Cero. All fresh fish is good. I have probably eaten my body weight in Spanish. They practically have the same diet.
Dude makes it look too easy. If I bought the same yak and set up I’d end up catching pin fish.
Happy new year love the vids keep it up!
Really nice video. You mentioned sunscreen, might I suggest a broad brimmed hat in the Keys? I've had problems with my ears from too much sunshine.
I just love the boundless variety of species in Florida, can't wait until March to get back there myself. About how far are you willing to venture offshore in your kayak? Asking because I'm taking mine to Florida next year. Thanks as always for great content!
3 miles no issues!
Thanks!@@EliasVFishing
Be aware of the Tides in the area you are boating. Have a Tide Chart for your specific area. I write the Tides for the day on tape and have near me.
Depending where you are, the Tide can surpass 3mph and no fun to fight.
Also, always keep your head on a swivel looking at the weather. Fronts can pop up quickly.
Be well.
@@kevinlynch6799 Thanks Kevin, words of wisdom gratefully received!
Mutton with care!
I commented too soon…Elias v amateur 😂
That mustache lol
new sub good stuff
Lana snappers only have to be 8 inch
Sometimes when i go fishing i doesn't catch nothing...this guy catching all these fish and throwing them back in the water 😂😅😂😂
Another banger video as always!!! I’m curious as to how long it took u to drive there? I’m waiting to make a trip and I’d rather drive than fly
13 hour from Wilmington
@@EliasVFishing thanks I live in oak island so not that far from ya
Googans forever
Hey, new to kayak fishing. What are the best weather conditions to go deep sea with a kayak? How many knots should there be before I decide to stay near shore? Thanks and keep up the great content!
I use Windy app - seas less than 1.5
Does the drive make that sound, only when you have the assist on? Always? Great video, Thanks.
Only with assist
Your Lane Snapper only have to be 8"
Hey Elias, great vid. I live in Destin FWB and am thinking of making a run down to the keys. What area/island do you recommend staying (I've got an RV too). Great vid! Shame a keeper grouper didn't take. HNY!
I’d think anywhere near Bahia Honda would be prime
Flounder not as prevalent in South Florida?
nope
Awesome stuff. Got me thinking about loading up the Hobies next Christmas and making a 17 hour road trip. Where do you stay when you’re down there?
We have a spot in Lower Matecumbe
@@EliasVFishing must be nice.
Sierra mackerel?
Cero - misspoke
"Jeff Bezos"......instant classic comment!!!!!
Happy New year!!
Nice work
Can you tell me what kind of net your using. Have same looking red net but short. ?
Eco?
Custom built
Copy that
Knew it looked different
Guess I’ll rig mine. Lol
Looks like the fish regulations are sure helping the Jewfish and Mutton. 🇺🇸🇨🇦🇺🇸
Hello, do you always use fishing swivels? or any special case? thanks
What size jig head and swim bait are you using?
What jig heads did you use with fluke & diesel minnows? Also what color plastics did you use?
check video description
🎣🤙🏼
Cero are much better eating
I’ve always wondered why all the RUclips anglers use knives long enough to fillet a shark ( or big fish of your choice) is it hope ? I find I can Fillet a 20lb cod with my everlasting 4” marttinii very easily !
A 1 lb fish and you grunt like you're dead lifting in a gym....can't watch you anymore..
Reminder that he not only fishes but is pedaling a kayak all day. So yea. He might be tired.
😊😊😊
Writing this during the intro. Just wanna say HAPPY NEW YEAR to you and Meg, another year of happiness and health. Oh and also tight lines. 👊🏾💙🙌🏾
What are the specs on the night ranger rod? Thanks!
1-4 oz MH
@@EliasVFishing thanks! Love your videos 🙌🏻
I think that one Jack you caught was an almacore
Fun and interesting
What is a head boat?
for hire vessel that takes 10-30 anglers out
Just ordered $50+ of Barefoot Jigs thanks to you. I have done very well with Kalin’s Google Eye Rattlin’ Jigs in 3/8oz. from the Keys to Canada. Hoping the Barefoot Jigs will be another Secret Bait!
Be well.
Use a loop knot on them and I’ll think you’ll be very happy 👍
@@EliasVFishing Yep. The Barefoot Jigs website has a great FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) section that has great Tips and suggestions as to what plastics work well with these Jigs which reminds on to use a Loop Knot on the Jig for best action. Thank you.
Take care.
