Wow, another fantastic video. With channels like yours it's no wonder RUclips is fast overtaking terresterial tv. But, it makes you realise how lucky we are to live within travelling distance of such a fabulous coastline. The best 30 minutes I've spent in a long time.
hi mate just started watching your videos really enjoy them thanks for taking the time to make them.just started sea fishing after years of freshwater fishing learning lots from your vids thanks again
what a session.... I was up at Eyemouth couple of weeks back and took a tict Rockin Finess 6ft9 0.5g -2.5g, symetre 500 with 4lb braid to the mackerel and coalies… most fun I've had in ages
Some of my best or luckiest fishing gear is really cheap stuff people would turn their nose up at nowadays if you were 10 or over but those starter kits all in one for £10/15 kept me fishing for years and 1 I still use on the river and I gifted another to my friends son as my friend wanted to get him into the sport but couldn't find a rod cheap enough and small enough locally so I passed it on and I saw him catch his first Pollack with it, nothing beats seeing someone catching their first ever fish 🐟.
Great session, got a bit of good advice from your videos. Was up eyemouth and coldingham bay on light gear too the other week and ended up with codling pollock and coalfish aswell on the same lure! Was well chuffed as im quite new to the fishing scene. Keep up the good work. Love the videos.
Bass !! Try Morecambe end of the blue railings opposite the golf course ...night tide ...hour before hour and half after high ...one a chuck nice size too .digg the bait other side o the gully at low tide ..
Slippy Limpets and good info on the point below craster think its colornose point on one of your vids ...saves us tracking up to are old stomping ground round cove
Would you consider doing a kayak tutorial when you go out next? I have an ocean kayak scupper pro with a garmin sounder and a small handheld gps. I use these for freedive spearfishing pollack on offshore reefs but would like to try out the rod and soft plastics for cod as I rarely see these when I'm underwater. I'm thinking they must be in the kelps so I'm wondering how you choose the ground and do you get snagged much. I don't yet have a drift anchor but I am kitted for static anchoring as that's what I do offshore while I'm underwater. Thanks for the vids.
Great session, I'm the same but opposite, here it's loads of bass and pollack but no cod, I'd be super excited to get a decent codling, maybe this year... 👍
Cracking session on the light gear there buddy. Keep up the good work with the videos. 👍.if you are craving large pollock take a trip to the isle of skye. Some cracking fishing to be had.

You’re lucky to have rocks on your coast I’m from Hunstanton area where the fishing is not too good. I’d love another go on the rocks but they have to be easily accessible. Any ideas where that might be?
Ah I'm sorry to hear that, hope you made a speedy recovery! There's accessible rock fishing most places. Northumberland has some pretty accessible places to fish from and so does the south west of Scotland
Tried me lrf rod at TY Croes, Anglesey caught a small Pollock on it . But that's all. Tried me big Beachy on Aberdersach Beach but very very kelpy, Nath and drew a blank. Tight lines me mate. Scoose.
Crackin fish and love that area I use SG seekers mostly but recently got the gravity sticks. Do you let them sink to the deck and slow and steady retrieve or just straight retrieve with a few jigs on the way in?
As anglers, we want to have a bend in the rod, that's part of the fun of using light tackle- The bigger the bend in the rod the better the sensation of the fight is. LRF is a great way of fishing, even small fish can put a bend in the rod.
Thanks for replying dude. I meant wouldn’t bigger fish cause the rod to bend and snap/buckle considering the light casting weight but it all makes sense now. Thanks bud
Ah, I get you... a bigger fish could snap your rod but that's where the drag on your reel comes in handy, you can loosen it off so if you do hook a big'n and it lunges, then your reel will release line and save your rod, or/and line, from snapping
As usual, great video. I’ve improved my catch rates massively from watching your videos, trying some of the tackle and watching your technique, so thanks for that. Hope your bass expeditions were fruitful and I look forward to seeing them in the future. Tight lines buddy 👍🏻
Love light tackle fishing even small fish put a good bend in the rod, and the exhilaration of hooking into a fish that is almost to big for the setup is fantastic.
I know mate, been renovating my house so not had much time for fishing let alone editing. Also, I lost my camera so trying to get a new one. Got a couple of bass vids from the summer in the pipe line which will (hopefully) be ready before xmas. How's tricks?
Enjoyed the video. I'm curious about your technique you don't seem to do a lot of retrieving, is it just a case of flicking the lure out and letting it drift ? I only ask as I'm going to Dorset this summer and plan to have a go at LRF.
It's a technique called fishing on the drop. It's really deep so it takes a while for the light lure to sink. I let the lure hit the seabed and if they haven't hit the lure by the time it reaches the seabed, then I do a lift and draw until it's under my feet. And repeat
Can anyone answer this Question for me please, Is sea fishing or rock fishing like this video ok to fish all year round? I know river fishing depends on what time of year it is(i think). When it comes to fishing I'm really green, I wanna start up as a nice hobby hopefully. I appreciate any answers, Please take it easy on me. Thank you in advance.

@@SlippyLimpets I'll go scope it out next time 👌 I met a few lads down at the spot that had just recently started out fishing and I told them to watch your vids to get a feel of what to be doing and one of them had heard of you through another guy, was pretty funny tbh haha. ✌️
@@jaimieboy999 thanks for spreading the word, appreciate it!! 👍
Hey man! Could you please explain your retrieve, or point me in the right direction? Thanks!
No worries, I tend to use the lift and draw technique, which means I wait for my lure to hit the bottom, lift the rod tip up and wind down a couple of times, then wait for my lure to hit the bottom again and then repeat. Hope this helps 👍
Alright mate how's it going? Just thought I would pop in and say hi and to let you know Gone Fishing is no more. Unfortunately I was hacked so I created a new channel and named it Earls fishing adventures. So I have subscribed again ha ha and can't wait to see the next one
Alright matey, I wondered where all of that japenese stuff you apparently posted came from! Thanks for letting me know and I like the new name and logo, subbed too 👍 Good luck with your new channel and tight lines!
@@SlippyLimpets Thank you mate
I’m from south east Northumberland and Can’t wait to get up to st Abbs , I’m normally a heavy shore fisherman and this lrf/hrs looks addictive 👌
I'm sure you'll love it, It really is addictive, and St Abbs is a mint place. Tight lines!👍 🎣
Hi slippy was that st abbs
Just south of St. Abbs
@@SlippyLimpets ok cool eyemouth then..was at arbroath yesterday not a thing was baitfishing with crab ,squid, bluey hoping for a cod then switched to a sea krill 30 g spinner for a Pollock but he haw. Need to get back down to St abbs or portpatrick where the Pollock are more productive ..ok cheers just that second bit of u're video the wee cave type gully u're fishing looks awesome what a scene.tight lines bud
What rod do.u use lad
I normally use a Slash Lamya Thief 8.6, 4 to 28g but in this video I used a Savage Gear Light Range Fishing, 8ft, 2 to 10g for the first time. Hope this helps 👍
@@SlippyLimpets thanks just looking at getting a new lrf rod trying to see what rods everyone is using
@@johnmcgowan7264not sure you can go too far wrong really, but get one that suits the places you fish. If it's deep water then get a longer rod with a little more casting weight, if shallow then get a lighter short one. Hope this helps
I just have to ask.
Are you related to Phil Hardman, who writes for an air gun magazine and does RUclips videos on hunting
His Channel is "Hunting with Hardman"
You look and sound like him 😉👍
I'm sure you've asked this before mate but it's not me and no relation
@@SlippyLimpets I've only just found your Channel and subscribed, must've been someone else that sees a resemblance 🤔🥰👍👍
All the best .
mint as always, cheers.
I'll swap you all those fish for the bass we get anyday. I guess we all crave for something different.
Ha, I always say the same to you bass catchers ☺ I guess you're right about the grass always being greener! Tight lines bud!
Nice video and som nice fish. I have a few question for you.Don't you ever take some fish for food? And Why can't you release the fish by putting them back instead of throwing them back into the sea especially the last pollack?
I've found that the fish always swim back more frequently if they've been released this way, but only head first. if not then I'll take it home with me 👍 glad you liked the video. Tight lines!
Have you found that with Global warming that you catch different species fish from warmer climates. I live in the South of New Zealand and we now catch fish from the North Island.
I have noticed a difference over the past couple of seasons, we can now catch dogfish (small shark species considered a pest) and more bass than in previous years.
Ever thought about cooking your catches?
I do take the odd one home now and again. Mainly if they won't go back.
I have that rod
It's a great rod, not too short like some other LRF rods.👍🏼🎣
why don't you eat those fat ones?
There's a few reasons, like keeping the fish fresh whilst at the mark and having to carry the things back out from the mark is a pain
RESPECT your catch mate, you don't just throw them back like that, treat them properly......................
What mark do you fish
I'm not going to give you the exact mark but it's at a place called Eyemouth.
