few yrs ago watching Fishlocker movies I got motivation to move to Cornwall , now your movies motivate me to move north...and its not easy becasue curenctly I live in Poland so its about 1300 miles by car but I have been start looking for a small house to rent ....fantastic vids 👍
Sat in my motorhome watching this, what an intro nath, top class, with a great stamp of fish, better than the ones I'm catching in Anglesey lol, hope your keeping well mate
Thanks Mick and all good! You're in a lovely part of the world, I love fishing down that way, especially the Menai and the south shore of the Llyn! Have a good one and tight lines mate!
@@SlippyLimpets someone told me recently that have caught a number of very large pollock on the back of Holy Island on floatfish baits. Might be worth a look.
Omg I can't believe you are where you are. I took my little man on a puffin trip there earlier this week and saw some Minkey Whales too. We went up to Budle Bay too and my young one caught his PB 43cm flounder, was super proud. Hope you are well and happy good sir. Have a great summer season and tight lines. Beautiful video as always.
Sounds great and hope the wee man enjoyed it. Well done to him as well, that is a great size of flounder and in a beautiful part of the world! Tight lines👍🎣
It is great fun but there's a fair bit of work with towing, maintenance, finding somewhere to launch etc. I do still prefer fishing from the shore. Thanks and tight lines👍🎣
Awesome footage Nathan, weather, fishing and wildlife, fishing under rocks in bird habitats is a bit smelly, though even in NZ both fishermen and spear fishermen all agree hoards of baitfish are attracted by the birds droppings , go figure though in my experience it seems to be true, once again Awesome video Nathan 😀👍
Totally agree with that, Karl, a lot of my best marks are near bird and seal colonies. The things we go through as anglers😂 Hope the winter is treating your well and tight lines👍🎣
Great watching as always mate, those Pollock wow ! quite close in as well, looking forward to more tight lines and well done for persevering love Northumberland a beautiful unspoilt county.
The 'pennies From Heaven' wreck as it's known, doesn't stand as proud as it used to... Guess you did better than me when I went the Farnes then...? Was also beaten by the weather.....
That name is a good name for it, seems to be scattered al owa! The Farnes was really tough, as you know there are so many nooks and crannies. I 'd spent hours searching around and only found that honey hole as a last ditch. Caught nowt there the 2nd day. Tight lines mate!
@@SlippyLimpets Caught large pollock from rocks on the fly years ago down at Port logan, (im up in Troon) on the north side. It can be difficult to get a mark that allows a decent back cast. Used a DI5 line and a homemade lure tyed with synthetics. Great fun.
Aha class mate, I wondered if you’d ever make it up that way. I recognised the ‘pinnacle’ straight away. There’s some unreal fishing there at times but other times it can appear like a desert. Is that your biggest Northumbrian pollack?
It seemed like that was the case since the day after was totally s****e. Yeah it is, and it's actually my biggest mainland UK pollack too. Might take a while to beat the Orkney PB
@@SlippyLimpets Nice one on the UK PB. We do get some really large pollack and coalies, especially in that area. But it’s just a timing thing. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that a lot of the better pollack always seem to come really late in the day. I haven’t the balls to do it, but I have wondered what nighttime luring afloat would be like? I’ll have to catch up with your Norway videos! Cheers
No way, I'll be back out on the kayak when my knee works fully! I know, really lucked out on the 2nd day with the weather, seemed that the fish didn't like it, or maybe that was the new moon. who knows! Tight lines David!👍🎣
Thanks SL - great fishing and stunning scenery. 👍 Question: I think I'm right in saying that Codling are young - i.e. not yet mature - Cod. Even so, they look to be a a decent size: do you not take the odd one for the table as Cod is so much better eating than Pollack?
Thanks Tim! Yep, codling are cod under 5lb and I read somewhere that they mature at around 45cm in length or four years old. I do keep the odd one for the table, but tend to keep the fish that won't swim back, normally gut or gill hooked. And I agree, cod is much tastier than pollack! Tight lines👍🎣
Tremendous watching from start to finish mate, your edits are top class like. The best I never had is is firmly on the my fishing playlist because your your videos… 😂 and those fish were monsters!! Well done pal. 🎣🎣
A shame that it wasn't more productive, a lot of steaming around for not many fish. I think that you were fishing too light, with heavier gear and bigger hooks you wouldn't have lost so many fish or expensive tackle. Don't you ever eat the fish, those codlings would have been delicious. The cloud pictures were the best bit, nice filming.

Looks like you had an audience at one point Nathan!
Not sure about that, JW, I think they were more interested in the birds 😉
I have travelled all over Scotland, and now Norway, in search of double figure pollock. I grew up in Seahouses. Doh!
Amazing fishing.
haha, likewise! I couldn't believe it when I pulled in the first one, let alone 2 more. Shame they're not accessible from the shore. Tight lines!

Incredible drone footage and great stamp of Pollack, greetings from Keith Barker, south east Ireland.

Do you put backing on your reel mate if so what size (lb) and length thanks
I don't use backing, just fill the reel up to the top of the spool with braid
