9/11 should never have happened. America is now a politically divided cesspool because of the failures from the many wars that happened as a result of that horrific tragedy.
The only downside to 9/11 never taking place would be that Gerard would never have gotten any inspiration to form MCR as that tragedy was the reason the band came to be.
Then again, who knows. Maybe some other horrific mass-casualty event sometime after 2001 would’ve at least given Gerard a reason to form MCR.

No, if I'm not mistaken, TUA was written as a side hustle when he was touring. But this cartoon was one of a monkey, or something like that, but it got rejected because there was already a similar cartoon on air.
