Why do you think it looks like something a circus acrobat would wear? Later on Nightwing comics would explain that Dick Grayson was born to be in the spotlight and to put on a show. It’s in his blood (he has a family of circus acrobats) so that’s what he tends to do and why he ends up going on his own anyway. Because even with those colours everyone still pays more attention to Batman.

When I first heard of Gerard it was on MTV on a segment called you hear it first. Yes MCR was making waves as a new band but..they were discussing his work as an illustrator and his love for comics. As a comic book fan and wannabe comic artist I was intrigued by this before I loved MCR 🤘🏽

It's weird to listen to him talk because he has such a classic nerdy voice that just seems to dissapear when he sings. It's beautiful in a way because he likely got bullied for it in school and now he's a fucking legend.
This guy is so down to earth qnd is such a lovely chap. He was doing a gig in my home town in the U.K. My friend took his daughter to watch it and she was a massive fan. After the show they waited outside with it hammering down with rain just to get a glimpse of him up close. And my friend said he he came up and spoke to everyone waiting and signed autographs. His daughter got emotional and cried Gérard asked if he could give her a hug and gave her a nice one. My friend said thank you to him and he said it was his pleasure. Then he turned to my friend qnd went do you want a hug. And my mate laughed and went nah its OK. Gerard laughed and said don't be silly everyone wants a hug and gave him a bro hug. Ever since my mate told me that story been fascinated by the man. Just seems a really cool guy.
Honestly it is the first time I see him on an interview, I only ever listened to the music, but figured someone had to be smart because MCR are THAT good. In fact he has great taste, I'm just surprised he didn't pick B.P.R.D. since it was in front of him, other than that he picked some real quality stuff, Herbert of course, but I too feel that Akira is one of the best stories ever, not to mention the great art and great anime adaptation, I was almost obsessed by it as a teenager. I hope he continues to write great music or any other form of art, the world lacks this kind of genuineity.

Gerard Way remind me a lot of like Quentin Tarantino when he talks about stuff he cares about. Like you can tell he's one of the people that ACTUALLY knows everything about something, they aren't just faking it for attention or trying to rub it in your face.

I can't believe he is one of the creators of umbrella academy, such a talented guy.
It's weird to listen to him talk because he has such a classic nerdy voice that just seems to dissapear when he sings. It's beautiful in a way because he likely got bullied for it in school and now he's a fucking legend.
I didn’t expect to fall for him again after 10 years
This guy is so down to earth qnd is such a lovely chap. He was doing a gig in my home town in the U.K. My friend took his daughter to watch it and she was a massive fan. After the show they waited outside with it hammering down with rain just to get a glimpse of him up close. And my friend said he he came up and spoke to everyone waiting and signed autographs. His daughter got emotional and cried Gérard asked if he could give her a hug and gave her a nice one. My friend said thank you to him and he said it was his pleasure. Then he turned to my friend qnd went do you want a hug. And my mate laughed and went nah its OK. Gerard laughed and said don't be silly everyone wants a hug and gave him a bro hug. Ever since my mate told me that story been fascinated by the man. Just seems a really cool guy.

Honestly it is the first time I see him on an interview, I only ever listened to the music, but figured someone had to be smart because MCR are THAT good. In fact he has great taste, I'm just surprised he didn't pick B.P.R.D. since it was in front of him, other than that he picked some real quality stuff, Herbert of course, but I too feel that Akira is one of the best stories ever, not to mention the great art and great anime adaptation, I was almost obsessed by it as a teenager. I hope he continues to write great music or any other form of art, the world lacks this kind of genuineity.
I can’t believe he was in that store in my hometown, we used to go there when we finished for the day at uni in the city, and he’s one of my favorite musicians. What was I doing that day in 2015 when it was filmed haha.
Fun fact: the current MCR logo is a candle with a sigil in the middle that appears to be based on the band's name, meaning it might have been created using one of Grant Morrison's techniques.
