If it's not gaming perhaps Linux Mint or a lightweight OS. Had my Mom using Mint a couple years ago, she didn't notice any difference for the casual tasks. LXDE/LXQT are really lightweight DEs also Debian/Fedora/ArcoLinux also am running on the potato pc fam. Would check the requirements and try to see what runs quickly on that era pc. Debian LXDE was still working well when one of my nvmes got loose by accident after cleaning, lxde as a de looks dated but it works. I took 10/11 off the old i3-2100 because I felt sorry for it. Save the old potato(es), GL. (Have an old Athlon K2 in my hallway that still needs a PSU at some point.)

This guide is incredible. I was averaging 150fps on my 2070super in CS2 before the guide. Average now is 280-300 on every map. No stutter. Screen tear has disappeared and no weird crashes of the game in certain situations (I could never peak red box T-side on nuke without a crash) I haven’t change any in game settings. What an amazing guide Thankyou !!
On Distributed link tracking... what it does is keep track of shortcuts (symlinks), so if you move/rename the target of the shortcut to another location, it'll update the shortcut (or symnlink) to it. Useful? Not really since the EXPECTED behavior if you move/rename the target of a shortcut is to break the shortcut. But I can see it useful in an office environment using shared storage where you'd prefer that OTHER PEOPLE don't break YOUR shortcuts if they move/rename files.
I have been using Windows 10 since 2018, and still in 2023 it's still one of the best stable operating systems. Now having that said, I have been testing Windows 11 more precise Tiny11 on an old m.2 drive. To my surprise it feels and runs even better than Windows 10 LTSC. Soon I will make my own Tiny11 with tools that are out there and go Fully Windows 11. I hardly update my windows through a year, updating maybe 5 times in a year. And for sure I make an image clone of my C: partition every time. I think more people should try out the tiny11 Windows as a test system and see what they think, I think many will like it with the Windows 10 UI mod.
Perfect timing, bought another Win10 key this morning using your code. :D Was about to hunt for the previous guide, but this new one showed up, awesome! 8) I bagged an MSI B450 Tomahawk Max II (fully boxed with everything, looks unused) for just 51 UKP total. I mod a LOT of games, and I've NEVER seen a game with anything but 16bit/44.1khz audio files. Not saying they 100% don't exist, but if they do (it's not like I played every single pc game out there), they'd REALLY advertise it... like it would be a BIG DEAL for them to instruct their users to set their audio to 24bit/48khz -- and I'm not aware of ANY devs/game studios/game publishers that do. probably gpu limited in gaming and cpu limited while streaming. You could make sure in streaming settings to use quicksync instead of gpu/software encoding. You'd benefit from a gpu upgrade to something like a gtx 1070/1080 or a 1660ti if you can find one for cheap. The nvidia gpu could then also be your encoder for streaming as well but there will be times when you're cpu limited due to the older intel processor. Would bring a breath of fresh air into your build but I would suggest upgrading to something with 6 cores/12 threads at minimum in your next build.
@@GamersSauce Ah, then I guess the next question comes down to if you are okay with your current performance. Even with a better gpu you might not see decent uplift if you're playing cpu demanding titles. I'd suggest listing locally for some money and perhaps building something for a little more money. I'd be happy to throw together a budget oriented build through pc part picker for ya if you'd wanna go down that route!
Hey Brian, thanks for this. I followed 90% of the tips but then my Steam game icons on my desktop became blank, broken url links. Would you know what step caused that and how I can reverse it?
But you don’t need that for modern 12th and 13th gen intel processors because of the E cores. Many background processes will be running on E cores and performance cores will be used only for games or high performance applications
These videos are mainly for older computers. If you have a modern 13th gen or something like an amd 5800X3D, you dont need to do anything. focus on the graphics card :D
@@spusuf Thanks, but is it that clear cut though? From what I understand atmos can be mastered in both 48KHz and 96KHz, with 96KHz support only landing relatively recently.
I'm freaking confused for the last couple of weeks. I'm willing to buy Legion 7 Gen 7 AMD Advantage. This Laptop has Ryzen 9 6900HX, Radeon RX6850M XT 12 GB GDDR6 Graphic card, 32 gb DDR5 ram, 2 TB SSD. It now costs around 2180 USD (previously it was 2800). Will it be better than 3070ti? or will this gpu equally perform with RTX 4070 mobile? I'm actually worried about it's content creation ability. will it be good enough for content creation? And Is it worth for the price? please give me a reply.
Hi Brian, I'm interested on your thoughts of Atlas OS. I'm giving it a whirl after Linus' video. I think it would be valuable for the community to learn about this cut down version of Windows. Take care Peace
using Atlas os on 2 older phenom 2 systems didnt do a ton of testing but there is a distinct +15 points in cinibench r15 scores after applying Atlas os Vs stock windows 10. i believe the uplift comes from the disabling of the cpu vulnerability fixes.
I don't miss doing this every fresh install.

go back to the restore point if you made one. keep tinkering around and going back! (coming from a guy who didnt create a restore point)
Tech Yes City Yes on the go.
But you don’t need that for modern 12th and 13th gen intel processors because of the E cores. Many background processes will be running on E cores and performance cores will be used only for games or high performance applications
These videos are mainly for older computers. If you have a modern 13th gen or something like an amd 5800X3D, you dont need to do anything. focus on the graphics card :D
bryan that air cooler sitting horizontally out like that is making me feel uncomfortable 😅
Which setting dimmed my second monitor when games were full screen? I can't find it and now can't read obs chat on second monitor
I just used spectre instead. I find that these changes revert back if you update the os.
win10 Enterprise LTSC 2019 - with support until 2029. need a guide with this OS as it is lightweight and stripped down already.
Very helpful video, also unintentionally funny 🙂

@techyescity , which games use 96KHz sampling rate?
All Dolby enabled games. Dolby for headphones won't even enable if you're above 24bit/96khz
I reccomend an AMD W4100 for 20$
Wait for 4080 laptop to price down
Get 4000nvjdia
Is Xbox Gamebar no longer required for the correct CCD of a 7950X3D to work in games?

Hi Brian,
I'm interested on your thoughts of Atlas OS.
I'm giving it a whirl after Linus' video.
I think it would be valuable for the community to learn about this cut down version of Windows.
Take care
Peace
using Atlas os on 2 older phenom 2 systems didnt do a ton of testing but there is a distinct +15 points in cinibench r15 scores after applying Atlas os Vs stock windows 10. i believe the uplift comes from the disabling of the cpu vulnerability fixes.
