Sophie was spot on about Jaime. When he was young, he wanted to be a noble knight just like Barristen Selmy. Jaime was inspired by the great kingsguard knights of lore. He was 16 years old when the Mad King named him to the Kingsguard and he said that was his proudest day. After Jaime killed the mad King, everyone started calling him Kingslayer to disrespect him, people started to treat him with disrespect and contempt and so because of that, he started to wear the kingslayer dick persona on his sleeve and he started to become the guy that everyone thought he was. He was a good guy but everyone treating him shitty chipped away at his pure goodness. During his travels with Brienne, he was reminded of the honor and good that he inspired to be when he was young. The books explain it really good because you get POV chapters with JAIME where you are inside his head and hear his thoughts

The revelation of why Jaime killed the Mad King is to this day one of the best written scenes and twists in the history of television imo. The essence of Jaime's character imo is the most profound line of that scene. "If your prescious Renly had commanded you to kill your own father and stand by while thousands of men, women, and children burned alive, would you have done it? Would you have kept your oath then?" It goes perfectly in line with his quote I believe in season 2 when he says that you swear oaths to your king and oaths to your family, but what happens if the king tries to kill your family? You're forced to break an oath either way. Jaime was put in a terrible position and acted heroically and his reward was to be spit upon and looked down at specifically for doing that heroic act. Its no wonder he turned to embracing the arrogant and careless persona.

It’s important to remember how young Jaime was when he killed Aerys. He was just a couple of years older than Joffrey is now. Ned and Robb were only in thier late teens when the war started and into thier early twenties when in ended. The main players of the rebellion (Barr Tywin) were essentially adolescents. Then they were all imprisoned by thier actions and the worlds opinion of them were all fixed by that point. It’s an ongoing theme from the very first episode when Tyrion tells Jon to wear his status as a badge of honour then no one can hurt you with it.

The reason why Ser Jorah was so circumspect around Ser Barristan is hinted at during their conversation about kings and service. So let's recap a few key points:
Ser Jorah had been sentenced to death by Lord Eddard Stark for selling slaves (explained in Season 1).
He escaped to Essos to avoid execution and has been surviving in exile by selling his sword whenever possible.
He gets the chance to get back in the King's good graces by spying on Daenerys and Viserys for Varys (and King Robert).
His intel leads to the assassination attempt with the poisoned wine, which in turn prompts Drogo to start the campaign to win the throne for his son. This happens at the same time as Jorah receives a royal pardon in exchange for his services so that he can return home without being executed.
He has a change of heart and falls in love with Daenerys, and the spying ends.
Now the reason why he was wary of Ser Barristan is that traditionally the Lord Commander of the Kingsguard (which Barristan was) would sit on small council meetings, which of course would mean that he would know that Jorah spied on Daenerys. However, Ser Barristan isn't saying anything about it, so Jorah is unsure what game he is playing. Does he really not know (which we know is the case) or does he have some ulterior motive for pretending he doesn't know? Is he trustworthy? Is he another spy sent to get information, since Jorah himself has stopped sending intel?
Jorah is asking him about the small council meetings to understand if he knows or not!

Jon is serving as a spy for the Knight's Watch and has been from the second he killed Halfhand. Thats why he whispered to Jon beforehand. They knew the only way the wildlings would trust Jon and not kill him would be if he killed Halfhand, who was the sworn enemy of the wildlings.

I think Jaime didn't want Milk of the Poppy because he didn't want his senses to be dulled. Even though Roose Bolton seems sensible, Jaime's still a prisoner, in a place where he's surrounded by people who are his 'enemies'. Someone might want to hurt/kiII him, and he'd never even know he was in danger if he was dr ugged up.

In the books, the line where Grey Worm tells Dany that he will keep his name because it was the day Dany saved them has way more meaning. In the books, the slavers changed the names of the unsullied every single day. So when Grey Worm says he will keep his name, it has so much extra special meaning behind it because it was the name he had on the day he was freed. I don’t know why the show runners changed the line, the book line was way better, the show version was a bit lesser.

The history is written by the Maesters even the books are written this way. If the Maesters write him as a "Kingslayer" that's how he is known around Westeros. Its unfortunate but they write history without ever hearing sides or trying to be fair about it. They have their own agendas too. On the other hand this makes it very interesting.

Sorry im a bit late but the womans perspective on Jaime was just spot on when Jaime was young he idolised knights and only wanted to serve with honour but of course his perspective changed when he served the mad king at just 16 and seeing him burn innocent ppl and his kingsguard standing and watching seemed more honourable then helping them was traumatic for him. Jaime acting as the "Kinglsayer" all smug and cyncial is simply just a facade to cover up his trauma and guilt failing to uphold his vows as a knight its like Tyrion said "never forget who u are wear it as amour and it can be used to not hurt u" its very hard for the show to potray this whereas in the books u get to read Jaimes thoughts and how he feels nevertheless theyre doing a great job

I don't believe Joanna ever had an affair. Tywin wishes Tyrion weren't his because he's a dwarf and that doesn't fit in with his Lannister image. There are all kinds of off-the-wall theories about different characters' true parentage.

Unfortunately a daughter’s value back in those days had, like we see with Cersei, is to get a husband ranked as high or better / have children. The majority of society didn’t care about skill, talent, interests of a woman.
So Stanis’ wife, 1. is focused on him winning the war and claiming the throne sees her daughter as only a distraction for everyone.
    2. Shereen is not likely to marry a rich, handsome lord since she’s “disfigured” by grayscale. Which is really an unfortunate way to see life.
    3. She’s in a cult. Her mind is consumed with ideology, not real, love or compassion.

Which Lannister doesn't want to be seen in a better light, though, really? Tywin's whole lecture to Jaime (in the only scene they've had together so far) was about the opinions people have of the Lannisters (which Jaime pointed out and Tywin denied).

One thing I’ve always thought was interesting and this may be a continuity error is did you recognize that Stanis’ daughter, Shireen has blonde hair? If you remember Ned Stark, based on the Great Book of Houses, determined that Joffrey was Jamie and Cersei’s because Joffrey had blonde hair and every Baratheon listed in the book had black of hair. But, here we have Robert’s brother, Stanis, black of hair and his wife, black of hair, produce a dirty, blonde hair child which goes against the Book of Houses - Baratheon - black hair lineage. So, if Robert’s brother and wife can produce a dirty blonde hair child - then why couldn’t Robert (black hair) and Cersei (blonde hair) produce a blonde hair child?
One possible solution is as Shireen is kept locked up maybe she was never observed and added to the Book of Houses so no one knew a Baratheon blonde of hair- or - maybe only men are in the book. I only seem to remember Ned reading men’s names. But, Shireen’s dirty blonde hair is a potential debunk that maybe, just maybe, some of Cersei’s children are Roberts???

    • @thatoneblackdude3333

That's a casting problem she has black hair in the books and if you pay attention the lannasters themselves aren't really blond anymore but more brunette/ginger in the show when there supposed to be pure blonde it's the same thing as danys eyebrows being brown when there supposed to be white like her hair the show isn't completely accurate to the books .

Well, it’s supposed to be some sort of magic like act that he was able to do from the Lord of Light. It’s not something he’s always been able to do, more so something he was able to do once he was resurrected the first time
