i always come back to watch first-time reactors like these guys just to revisit the pure joy this show gave me for years and cleanse myself off of the toxic fans. i loved this show from the beginning to the end. what a masterpiece.

Tywin is a brilliant strategist. He planned this outcome from the beginning. He knows Tyrion didn’t kill Joffrey but he knows Jamie would do anything to save his brother. Jamie had refused to take up the leadership of Casterly rock before and now Tywin saw a way to make him take it over. Yes, Tywin is a villain but you just have to respect how he plays the game. Charles Dance just dominates every scene he’s in.
The performance by Peter Dinklage at the end is one of the best I ever seen!
Tywin blames Tyrion for his wife's death because she died giving birth to him and on top of that, he's a dwarf. Cersei blames him for killing her mother. Jamie actually loves his brother.
well tyrion did slap Joffrey several times during season 1 and 2, and it was a delight to watch every time 🙂

Tywin’s bargain with Jamie was everything Tywin wanted. Jamie gives him Lannister grandchildren at his family home. He gets to ‘save’ Tyrion by sending him so far north that he’ll never have to see or deal with him again. And Tywin gets to manipulate Tommen however he wants.
The problem with Tywin is that, as a cerebral man, the affective and emotional sides of people and situations are not included in his calculations, which is always a huge, huge mistake. Human behaviour is unpredictable, chaotic, and cannot be reduced to a set of sharp chess moves, no matter how brilliant they may be. Littlefinger, on the contrary, does use chaos and human feelings in his equations ("chaos is a ladder"), as the reckless player he is.

On Shae: I think the writers shot themselves in the foot with the changes they made to her character tbh. In making her love/care for Tyrion, not only does it make her later betrayals even _more_ vicious, they feel borderline out-of-character. Especially when she also throws Sansa under the bus, despite the show taking great pains to develop her motherly, protective bond towards her.
Idk. It reads like a writing fumble, like they were awkwardly trying to bridge her book-self with the character they wrote for the show before Kings Landing. Even if we're supposed to believe she was just _that_ jealous and angry, it feels like extremely disproportionate retribution for something that her show-self _really should have understood._ In trying to make Shae feel more complex than she was in the books, they made her less consistent and coherent as a character instead. Not really an improvement imo.

I grew up on an island and most of my friends from HS never left, whereas I inherited itchy feet and the need to wander from my parents. I left the island at 18 and have been fortunate to travel for both work and pleasure. The world is amazing.

Tyrion did slap him just before the hound saves Sansa. He also slapped him several times at Winterfell. Granted both cases the little f*** asked for it.
It's never appropriate to slap a child. And people wonder why Joffrey ended up the way he did.

Joffrey turned out that way because Cersei is a bad mother who let her son get away with everything and taught him he could behave and do anything he wanted because he was a prince/king. Robert and Jamie were also not good father figures because they didn't care enough to teach him shit. He also might have turned out that way because he was a product of incest. If Cersei wasn't such an idiot she would have taught him right and smacked/punished him when he acted up. Tyrion tried to teach him respect a few times with a smack but by that point it was too late and Joffrey was already set in his ways.

@@kylethompson3008 I've known tons of kids who have been allowed to get away with anything and they didn't turn out like this. Joffrey is a clear example of the effect domestic violence can have on a child. In this case, domestic violence from a bad uncle.

I said the same thing since episode 1, he’s like a bad over reactor😂. Doing way to much and Sophie’s reaction is truly genuine and refreshing👏🏽

In reality, all the testimonies were true (except for Shae's which was mixed with intimacy of both and lies) But in reality, everything else was true, the slaps happened many times, but it's all taken out of context to make it look like Tyrion really wanted to murder him, They mixed discipline with wanting him dead, because yes, no one except Tyrion was telling his truths to his face, not even Tywin.

Sir Maren wasn’t lying about that. That was when they were being attacked by the mob in King’s Landing (when Sansa almost got raped) when he slapped Joffrey. All these things are mostly technically true but have been taken out of context. That’s why it sucks 😭 and Varys really just trying not to die

Tywin hated Tyrion, so does Cercei. Jamie loves him though, and despite all of this, Tyrion still has love for his family. If he outs Joffrey, he outs Jamie. Jamie is the only one who stood up for him.
Tywin wanted Tyrion dead. He conceded the Night's Watch to Jamie because he wants Jamie out of the King's guard. This trial got him 2 birds with one stone...Tyrion is alive, bit he's gone and Tywin has his heir back.
Love this episode, and the performance! Incredible, on the Emmys it was this performance versus Aaron Paul's when Jesse found out about the cigarette "anD ALL FOR THAT a&SSHOLE Mr. WHite!" such a close battle but Aaron won this but Peter is incredible as well
Tyrion slapped Joffrey and called him a vicious idiot. It was around the time the cowpie was thrown at Joff. Shae is just a woman scorned. Tyrion really hurt her. She did love him....in her way.
8:05 this isnt the wisest move from daenaerys, she underestimates to desperation/greed of her people. If one man is paid 3 time the value of his sheep then she will soon have more wanting the same thing, some of whom will have burned their sheep on purpose for a profit. You cant be too generous as a ruler or your people will take advantage of it, but you must show enough kindness that they feel supported and cared for by the crown. Its a slightly difficult balance but Daenaerys' inexperience shows

I dont think Tyrion treated people with respect. You can see that from this episode because a lot of the people who testified against him brought up a lot of the situations where he was disrespectful. In the beginning he tells Jon to "wear his weaknesses like armor" so that no one can ever use them against you, but Tyrion has been acting like "The Imp" for the past few seaons and you can see from this episode how acting in that way came back to bite him in the ass.
it would be very smart if he picks Jaime. Cersei would have never let Jaime die so i think she would change her champion and find someone who sacrifices...maybe giving him gold for his family, i don't know......i haven't watched reaction yet, just the review at the end. Please give me 4x7 tomorrow after this break after 4x5 (Half season).

Cersi / tywin got to shay and threatened her life is why she did it, along with her anger towards him
Her anger played a huge role in this though, revengeful attitude to the max basically, she said like 100 things more than she could have on this occasion, being way too hateful than Tyrion ever deserved. Completely unredeemable after this betrayal, regardless of how Tywin and Cersei may have approached her. That was awful to watch.
Shae never understood the real danger she was in, while she was with Tyrion. She thought she'd been flat out rejected, but really should have known better.

Did yall completely forget all of what they talked about during the trial, really? The first 3 seasons yall didnt miss a single beat and guessed everything properly or atleast understood what was going on and remembered all the details, now you just forget it all, in these past 3-4 episodes yall are acting like yall have never seen the show before, weird stuff man, weird stuff.
its 4am an im drunk an speaking out of term and being rude, but man this seasons reactions do not feel the same at all, yall question everything now, when you use to actually know why stuff was happening.
Tommen is submissive, inexperienced, young and easily maniplutated. And idealy was never suppose to be king. Tywin walked all over him!
